How cool! I grew up in Poughkeepsie :)

I miss the fall foliage. We used to drive on the Taconic Parkway to see the pretty leaves.

I lived in Delmar up until 5th grade so I guess you could say I grew up in Albany too....we now have some family in Nyskayuna...

What a small world!

My high school friend and his family live in Delmar now.

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was busy but managable. :) Only 26 more days! YIPPPEEEEEE! :) I've got ants in my pants. I wanted to start putting some of the things we got into the suitcase to get it out of the living room and my husband said Absolutely Not. Guess he wasn't ready to start packing. What's up with that. :) HEEE HEEE I guess he likes seeing all the stuff in the living room. Hey, guess this means I don't have to clean the living room huh. :) HEEE HEEE What a hoot. Anyway, I hope everyone's week goes fast and easy! Mine is filled with doctors appointments, labwork and such but pretty easy all around. Take care all! Kristi

Happy Monday, Cruisapaloozans! Less than 4 weeks...:cool1: :cool1:

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Starting to get cool here in Northern California.

Ok, here's my enlighten question:

I've been reading a lot here about people who bring a case of water onboard because DCL's is so expensive. I understand the wanting the extra suitcase so as to bring goodies home but I don't understand why people want to schlep a HEAVY case of water (yes, this is coming from the Queen of Packing Light:rotfl: )
I can't imagine families who already have lots of luggage want to ALSO carry a heavy case of water...??:confused3
DH & I drink a lot of water but not sure what to do...

Is it not that bad? All you have to do is roll the suitcase to the Port and dump it off w/the boat folks??

If your like my wife, you need all the extra luggage space you can get...:sad1: we always take 2 extra empty suits cases with us, (she will pack one inside the other). She is the queen of shopping on DCL, she keeps telling me "You can only get this stuff on the ship", so she makes sure we HAVE ALL OF IT!:rotfl2: :sad2: :rotfl2: I can see putting a cases of water in one to give it some weight, but if you are taking the DCL express from MCO to the port, you will not have to touch your luggage after you check it in at your home airport. Some people like having water in their rooms before they go to bed...I always have the porter/room steward fill our ice bucket up at night, that way if we get thirsty, we can drink the melted ice water...plus, we will have our BUBBA MUGS full before we go to bed.

If you're waiting for your Cat 12 GTY room assignment, you might want to check it. We just got ours today. We got a Cat 10 on level 2. Not bad. ;)

Jason.

Got my MNSSHP tickets in the mail today:cool1: Also the kids received (well they dont know it) their kidzeyes checks in the mail today that I redeemed for them. $260 altogether :thumbsup2 So that will be their spending $ for the trip. If anyone has kids and haven't signed them up for kidzeyes, it's a great way for them to earn some spending for disney:)

YIPPPPPEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a room number! Oh my gosh, I'm really going on a cruise!!!!!! Yipppppeeeeeeeeeee! :) (Thanks Jason for the tip!)

We're still Cat. 12 but we anticipated that. There are just 3 of us and it's our first cruise. We're content where our room is so all is well. See ya'll in 26 days. :) Kristi

We also received our room number - we were upgraded to Cat 9 in the basement. Is it really an UPgrade if you are on the lowest level? :confused3 I really am just kidding!! We are on Deck 1 but do have the little porthole windows. No complaints here - we just wanted on the ship...now we get beds too so I am so excited!!

Congrats on all that got their room assignments...

26 day? That will go quick...I need to get back on the DIET!!:scared1: :scared1:

I believe BevToy asked - when/where those participating in DIS-Tag will meet....I'd suggest we meet for a few minutes during our DIS-meet on Sunday. I'll have a magnet and list for everybody....sound good to all?

I see some have received cabin assignments - WONDERFUL...sounds like the upgrade fairy has struck - CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Excuse me if I'm not too attentive on the boards till after this weekend is over. My M/FIL are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this Saturday. We've got lots to do and plenty to keep us busy. I'm running on just a few hours of sleep as this was a very short weekend. I spent most of the weekend scanning photos/slides to create a photo tribute on DVD of their 50 years together. I'm very proud of how it came out. When my DW viewed it...I knew my work was done as she needed 5 tissues to get through a 14 minute tribute.

**** HEY **** I need to ask....do we have any that have received their cruise documents??? Some one please correct me...should'nt these start showing up soon??? I don't know why...after a year and a half of planning/saving/waiting it just feels 'more real' when I've have our cruise documents in hand - anyone???

My best to all. K

Hey Kevin! Congrats on your M/FIL's 50th. WOW. That's awesome. And what a great SIL you are to put together the DVD. :)

As far as the documents are concerned, I don't know about anyone else but we were told by our AAA agent that we won't get anything until 2 weeks prior to going. I'm really hoping that we get the documents sooner since we have a room assignment. Who knows. We'll see.

To everyone! Have a great day today! Kristi

No cruise docs here either.:confused3 I read somewhere that it will be from 10 days to 2 weeks. before we receive the docs. Why oh why do they make us wait sooooooooooooooooooooo long! Like Kevin any I know all of you it will seem more real when we get these docs. DGD:love: is sooooo excited. We kept telling her how many more months we had to go until we sail. Now we are telling her in days. Last week-end she jumped up and down for almost 15 minutes when we told her how many more days to go.:cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :yay: :yay: ( I did a little dance too!!!):dance3: And, I'm telling you folks my dancing ain't pretty. Ain't pretty at all!!! Just ask DW:love: She'll tell ya!!!

So what is the official count for Dis Tag? Apoohfn got me thinking... how much is it for the water package on board? Cathy

Last time Kevin posted the count was at 15 but that was before the deadline. I would like to know too.

I also wanted to know the time and place for the DIS tag meet. I typed up an itinerary for us and need to fill in that slot.

Since we are first time cruisers with Disney I also typed up the ships locations by deck number, then alphabetized the locations and located them by fore/aft/midship so we can find them at a glance. Yeah a little over the top I know but I hate wasting time being lost.

I read that water is 30 dollars a case on board the ship. We will carry a case or two on board in a collapsible rolling cooler.
