October 13, 2013 4 Night Cruise!!!!

:yay:I am Kim's mom and I am very excited to be going on this cruise, can't wait ,this is my first ever cruise and I am glad we are going on a Disney cruise, can someone tell me what kind of gifts you use for the FE.

:welcome: Joyce! This is going to be an awesome trip and I am really looking forward to it, along with our time in the parks prior to boarding.

As far as gifts go - people do all sorts of things, those that are crafty make all sorts of items but we have also recieved items from the dollar store or Oriental Trading as well as candy. There is a thread over on the main board that shows off some of the 'loot' that people have recieved. Just remember whatever you select has to get to the ship so if you are flying, take that into consideration. Not sure what we shall do unless I can get DH to make some more of our 'standby' item from recent trips.

Take a look at this: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2919223&highlight=fish+extender+gifts

Have an awesome day everyone!

Hi. Glad you are joining us. Here is a link to the different types of FE gifts used. Hope it helps

If that ones doesn't help, here is another:

We have received everything from candies and pencils to music CD's and "pirate" items. It is alot of fun. I don't know who gets more of a kick out of going back to our cabin and finding a gift in at your door my son or myself. :woohoo:

See you in 109 days. :hourglass

:cool1:You made it here! Glad you were able to get registered and posting.

Just so I know what to expect... any cabanas left?

We can not book em till 90 days out. :(

I am really bad - I looked when you mentioned it before and there were 2 listed for Serenity Bay and meant to tell you and must have gotten side-tracked. I will look again tonight and let you know.

Hope everyone is doing well and no one is experiencing any crazy weather or worse, fires.

Take care!

We have been getting crazy weather here in NJ. Rain every early afternoon and evening...downpours with thunder and lightening. Ugh.

There are 3 cabanas on sb right? Are all the family cabanas gone, too? I just hope we are lucky and can get one at 90 days. Thank you for looking!

Hi, we will be sailing on the Oct 13, 2013 sailing of Disney Dream. Myself, my husband and 2 daughters (ages 4 and 22 months.....I know, what was I thinking!?! LOL). Can we get added to the roll call?

Well, I just looked at the cabana situation. I have no idea how many are on SB but there are 3 listed as sold. There is only one showing right now as available and that one is on the family beach - #9. Showing as sold on the family beach is 1-8, 10-12, 14-15 and 17.

It got really dark here yesterday when I left the office but didn't rain until well into the evening and then it did not last very long.

Everyone have an awesome day!

:welcome: to our merry band of cruisers - and to the DIS board as well. I found this board before our first cruise back in 2000 and it is a wealth of information and great people. I have met some that have become lifelong friends. You are going to have an awesome time. If you have questions, ask away!

Online registration completed, port check-in time 11-11:30, Palo brunch secured @ 10am; Castaway Ray's secured @ 10am. Life is good. :thumbsup2

BTW, at midnight eastern, Cabana #9 was still available, but all others showed sold out. Also, the Ultimate Indulgence spa package showed sold out.

It does not look like we are going to go to castaway cay for any length of time then unless we get lucky and snag a cancelation...hubby and I are too fair skinned...was hoping for the cabana so we could check out cc and have our own place to dash inside. We do not sun-bathe and those umbrellas look useless. I wish I knew why they do not have more of those. I feel kinda annoyed that there is a tiered system to get these. Only 3? Really? I freckle easily and i am not going to chance it. Oh well. Ok enough ranting. I still have a lot of time to wait till we can even try to book it.

Well I haven't been very observant. Was all psyched up to book a brunch and noted on the DCL site that I've got to have the cruise paid in full to book anything. That hasn't been a problem for us before because our booking window has always been after our PIF date. Now have to wait for Dreams Unlimited to apply the payment...on Sunday. :(

Don't give up on a cabana or CC for that matter. Even if you can't get a cabana because someone cancels one (do keep watching as some could reappear) there is actually quite a bit of shade on the island (particularly on the family beach). And the umbrellas actually do provide quite a bit of shade as well. DH isn't one for being in the sun (won't talk about me) and we have always been able to have an awesome time.

Well dang - I feel bad that I didn't speak up although not sure why your TA didn't remind you. Not so sure exactly who gets more benefit out of our ability to pay early - DCL for getting our money early or us for being able to book. Hopefully you get what it was you wanted.

Well, I hope everyone has a great day - beautiful here, think I will take the Kindle and go sit out on the deck.

scgal82 has been added to the Roll Call.

Dreams Unlimited posted it within an hour. We really didn't want anything that bad. I did book the Remy brunch. Most of what I've read about Nassau has convinced us to stay on the ship and enjoy it...perhaps visit the spa, ride the Aqua Duck, lounge around the pool. :cool2:

We may or may not do a snorkel trip using Stuart's Cove. We had a blast the last time we went and I really feel like getting in the water with the sharks again :rotfl:

Then again, we may have to stay on board and partake of a Mixology class or champagne tasting. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

I'll have to look into this. Susan and I both divers and I enjoy snorkeling too. We are also fans of mixology/wine tastings. :drinking1

We have found our tour for Nassau. :cool1:

We did a South Beach Food Tour at the end of our Panama Canal cruise back in December and loved it. Susan is an excellent cook and we both love trying local foods. The Tripadvisor reviews of this tour are excellent too.

Sounds like fun, but I hesitate to do anything that involves 'local flavors' in the Bahamas. I think it has something to do with me being deathly allergic to mangoes and being somewhat allergic to all of the spice peppers, black, red, cayenne, etc. For some good Bahamian conch salad, I'll risk having to take some Benadryl, though.
