October 13, 2012--Magical Galveston Cruise!!!

:rotfl2: I dreamed last night when we got to the terminal to check in, that I had forgotten the passports at home. DH was upset cause he was having to go and get them.

Aww...I don't know what's more annoying, the fact that you missed getting to Galveston, or that you have to do it all over again this weekend!! :faint:

They should be coming out with your room assignment really soon! :goodvibes I hope it's a good location for you. :thumbsup2

Yes, under the 20 day mark today! :cool1:

I think it is a toss up..:rotfl2:

A question for all those that have been lucky to have sailed before. I am debating on paying our gratuities ahead of time there a plus to this? Besides getting it out of the way?

Now that they add them automatically, I don't think there is much to gain from it. The only thing I can think of is if you want to have them on a different credit card statement.

Jenny, thanks for the great pictures. I am so ready to go. Today I found myself in two different shoes at work and I did not notice that until I had been there for 3 hrs. The week before I go, I will be working 10 hr shifts. I am ready to relax and sleep late. I still need to lose 35 pds before I go. I just got off the Nordic track and it is killing me. I don't think I will make the 35 pds. Oh well. 18 days and counting. deanna

We were there too! We were the 4 in the red Disney shirts. EVERYBODY asked if we were going on the cruise! The kids would say 'no..." and look pitiful then I would say "Some day, hopefully" and mouth 'in three weeks!!!" behind there heads and everybody would say "OH! I do hope you get to go SOME day!!!" It was awesome!!

We saw Donald on the deck when they came in, but I never saw any of the others. Did y'all see them? I am wondering where those pics are coming from.

Only 2 more Mondays and 2 more Tuesdays!!!!! CAN! NOT!! WAIT!!!

The others were on the next deck up. I seen Donald first then found the others.

Your kids will be so surprised! How in the world are you able to keep it a secret and not spill the beans? Awesome. Hopefully you will get a video of them when they realize THEY are going on the Magic, too! Priceless....

We saw Goofy, Chip & Dale and Donald. As Dena said, Goofy was up on the top deck. The others were coming from the aft elevators as they were backing in. I think they had most of the characters down on deck 3 for the photo shoot, so they were hurrying to get them back up on the top decks for when they actually arrived in port. As they saw us waving and hollering, they came running toward the back of the ship waving back :rotfl:

I take my hat off to anyone that is managing to keep this cruise a secret :rotfl2: There is no WAY I would be able to do it - my mouth would blurted it out by now!! :crazy2:

17 Days!!

:rotfl: That is going to be such a good surprise for your kids! I love things like that. You should definitely get it on video!

2 weeks to go!! :cool1::banana:

FE Update:

We are still waiting on one GTY cabin assignment, which hopefully will happen within the next 5 days. I'll send the final list out then with the map. There has been one cabin number change, but the deck has stayed the same, and it is just a few doors down - if anyone needs the updated list for that cabin number before I send out the final just let me know. :goodvibes.

I am going to get the suitcases out this weekend and start just organizing some stuff. Mum gets here from the UK on Wednesday :thumbsup2 and I just know that once she arrives the time is going to just vanish!

anyone started packing yet? I am wanting to maybe things that we will not need in the next 15 days. Hope nothing wrinkles. Deanna

Yes, I put some stuff in the suitecase 2 wks ago:lmao:. Have a few things but there are MANY things I still need to get together :rolleyes2.
Dena:hyper:

My Dh started packing in July. LOL I will start next weekend and when I spoke with my daughter she said she would pack saturday the day we leave [OK I can see it now she will be the one that will have to go back home for her passport]. JS

Mike's wondering after the cruise. Will we be able to go get the car from the parking garage first and then get luggage :confused3. Or are we going to have to drag it across the street :scared:

Dena - You will have to claim your luggage before you go through customs, so best thing would be for one of you to wait outside with the luggage while the other one goes to get the car.

I was going to start packing, but I did that last time, and then didn't trust that I'd put everything in that I'd checked off, so had to pull it all out again. :rotfl: I'm going to wait until next weekend. ::yes::

There's no way I could do it the morning we leave though - that would be way too stressful - I guess that's what happens when you get older!! :lmao:

My cousin just came back from their cruise on the Magic. She had some complaints about the AC in their stateroom... She said it would get hot in the middle of the night. Anyone heard anything similar? I like it cold when I go to bed!

I like it cold too. I have not heard of any other complaints yet. Was she in a balcony room?

:wave2: I remember reading that now Jenny. I guess it will be Mike getting the car :lmao:. He knows how directionally challenged I am .

I have some stuff in the suitcase, but now wondering :scratchin if I should take the stuff out and put in bags. After reading about stuff could get wet. Never ::yes:: crossed my mind.

I hadn't heard anything from anyone, but depending on how cold you like it, the staterooms are not like a hotel room where you can crank the AC low. The new ships only have a dial with no temperatures shown - just colder to hotter [edited to change this from my original post] for the AC & it doesn't go super cold. I would say about 72? I don't remember what the controls are like on the Magic, but they are similar.
