October 11, 2014 7-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise on Disney Magic (San Juan)

Guess I need to get busy this weekend. DCL still hasn't come through with air for us.

Would hate to be late to the party pirate:

southwest here as well - they've opened their flight schedule through early June already, so hopefully not too much longer to wait for some good airfare deals.

So excited to finally get this booked and I am booked on the reposition cruise too!! Just got them done today. So excited and even more now that I have read some past posts in Feb. about it being almost sold out! It is just my DH and myself traveling. We have never been this far south before. We cant wait!!! Looking forward to following others posts about our upcoming trip. We are from California.

Welcome aboard. Less than a year away now and hopefully that year goes by quickly.

We were using our globe in school the other day and checked out our ports of call. I hadn't realized how close to South America we would be until then.

This will be so much fun!

So I booked the Caribe Hilton today for 2 nights. I am so excited. I was trying to figure out the best place to stay this is close to port not that far from downtown and I get my Hilton points so I think its a win but if anyone has thoughts on this please tell!

Have any of you been on this cruise before? We just got home from our first DCL cruise and are trying to decide where to go on the next one. Our son will be 3.5 next October, and we want to make sure that there will be things for him to do on the islands. Thanks!!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is a brand new itinerary. We did something close to it on the QM2 in 2009.

DCL ran a similar itinerary back in 2006. Then they ran a 10nt and 11nt. If you're doing the B2B the real difference is subbing Grenada for St. Thomas.

We did the 11nt:

Departing Sept. 17, 2006
Sunday. . . Port Canaveral
Monday. . . At Sea
Tuesday. . . At Sea
Wednesday. . . St. Thomas
Thursday. . . St. Lucia
Friday. . . Barbados
Saturday. . . Antigua
Sunday. . . St. Kitts
Monday. . . At Sea
Tuesday. . . At Sea
Wednesday. . . Castaway Cay
Thursday. . . Port Canaveral

Our daughter was 5 at the time and she spent most of her time in the clubs except for a couple of the ports (e.g. St. Kitts).

If your son is going to be 3.5 at time of cruise, there's not much to do other than play on beaches (to be honest). He'll be at the bottom end of the age range for the club/lab (3-12).

So my guess is that whatever you did with him on your last cruise, you'll be doing again on this one but with some club/lab time thrown in.

Andy

Wow, didn't remember that at all. Thanks

Just off the Oct. 25th Western on the Fantasy. I'm going into DCL withdrawal already so I need to start planning the next cruise. Looking forward to all the great stops on this cruise. It'll be me, my DH, DD (10) and DS (8). I put in a request to join the FB page.

Hello everyone! I'm so excited on this trip! I will go with my friend! It's our graduation trip! We will graduate from university next year! So we spend our last fall break on disney magic first time! I never go to southern carribean. Look forward to meeting you guys and Mickey!Disney is the best! ♪\(^ω^\)( /^ω^)/♪

So excited to be doing B2B with the 3 night repositioning. Has anyone started an FE list yet? If not, I'd be happy to coordinate.

We've booked a gty cabin --- which we've never done before. If you have, can you share how it worked out for you?

Ginny and Andy Dulaney :)

A number of us are staying at either El Convento or the Marriott.

Welcome aboard! Check the first page for important information about some of the planning that has already begun.
