October 11, 2014 7-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise on Disney Magic (San Juan)

A little early to discuss splitting groups, no? We typically give to all cabins & have never had a group split. We have had cruises with 10 cabins & ones close to 40. I dunno. I personally would rather see how the list progresses before giving my opinion on splitting the list.

Good evening everyone! :wave2:

I'm with you on this one. Even on our Panama Canal cruise with over 100 cabins didn't split into groups. Everyone did what they were comfortable with, some got together to do a group gift, others did a cabin gift instead of individuals we had quite a variety which is in the spirit of what the FE is all about.

This thread is moving along as fast as our Panama one too (4 or 5 threads by the time we sailed) so I'll have to work at keeping up.

Hello!

We're booked on this for our 3rd cruise:cool1:. It's just me (shell) and DH (carl)
Only 20months to go... :rotfl2:

Maybe we could do a poll as the time gets closer to see what the consensus is about the fish extender group, whether to split it or not. That would seem like a fair way to decide which direction to go.

I think I've read that some large groups that have, for example, 100 cabins, have split into four groups. Then you can join one group or all four groups, depending what your preference is. That way everybody gets the option to do all or just a small group.

I"m booked, but I have three other cruises and an Adventures By Disney before this one, and I don't do fish extenders so I probably won't post much this early. I'm looking mostly for port info and things to do in ports besides beaches. Like island tours or whatever. Barbados is all about Mount Gay rum to me.

We have been getting lots of ideas over on Facebook for a cruise name. I will post a poll on Facebook this weekend with all of the suggestions; this is to cull out the less popular ones. After that we will vote a second time on the top 5 to make our final selection. If you have any ideas post them by NOON Saturday. At that time I will post the list here and ask that only those who are not on Facebook to vote. There will be vote taking place on the Facebook page as well.

Here is what we have so far:

  • 5 Magical Islands with the Mouse
  • Beasts of the Southern Wild
  • Calypso Caribbean Castaways
  • Coastal Confessions Cruise
  • Daydreamin in the Caribbean
  • Daytime Tourist - Nite Time Partier
  • Flip Flop Paradise Cruise
  • Island Fever Cruise
  • Cruisin' the Magic Southern-Style
  • DisHoppers- Magic's Southern Island Hopping Cruise 2014
  • Disney's Southern Fab 5
  • DisPirates in the Southern Caribbean 2014
  • Island Hopping with The Mouse....Oct. 11th - Oct. 18th, 2014
  • Magical Columbus Island Adventure
  • Magical San Juan Sailors
  • Magical Southern Sailors
  • Mickey's Magical 5 island Adventure
  • Mickey's Magical Southern Caribbean Crew
  • No Shoes Tour
  • Sailin' the Magic Southern-Style
  • Southern Caribbean Castaways
  • Southern Comfort
  • Southern Scalliwags on the Magic
  • The Magic, The Mouse, and Me
  • To Caribbean and Beyond

I moved my OBB last night to this itinerary. Booked also my parents and more extended family is booking the cruise. This is spreading like fire.
This will be our 4th DCL unless we squeeze another before this.

Booking this on the 25th and very excited about doing this. Actually went on cruise in 2008 through the Panama Canal. Going with friends and will be a very interesting cruise for sure. Ex and my daughter are going on the cruise. Think it should be fine. :) Is there a FACEBOOK thread too? Let me know and so very excited to join this group. See you soon.

Welcome aboard! We are from Littleton, soon to be Highlands Ranch next month :).

I love that idea!!! Once we get closer I think a definite poll will be in order! Everyone is so super excited! I love it!!!

Sounds like a great plan to me.:thumbsup2

Ok I am firing our TA. I emailed her Thursday morning and have yet to hear from her at 9 AM this morning. UGH!

Not sure if it is the same TA, but I had two emails (to an agent at DU, regarding a payment) returned as undeliverable after 3 days. Not sure if they are having a server issue of some sort? They did return phone calls within a few hours. :confused3

After much debating over whether to book now or wait until our May cruise, we HAVE BOOKED!!! :cool1::cool1:

Barring any impromptu sailings beyond our May trip, this will be number 17. We are really looking forward to traveling a new itinerary. As much as we've cruised, the Bahamas and other POC from Port Canaveral were getting stale.

Happy to be joining everyone for this trip...
