October 11, 2014 7-Night Southern Caribbean Cruise on Disney Magic (San Juan)

I wasn't planning on thinking about it until next year.

Us either! I've got four cruises before this one! I need to research renting a car in St Thomas for our cruise in 19 days, plus get FE stuff together, then research Miami for our Oct cruise ( where we are going to stay night before& parking).

I imagine I won't be planning hotel or flights until after Christmas!

Your name looks familiar. Were you on the Klondike Kruisers Alaskan cruise....Aug 22-30, 2011? If so, I think our girls met.

Yes, we were! That's great that they've probably already met! Are you booked on the 10/12/13 Western Fantasy? We'll be on that cruise as well! :)

Hi all, We booked this morning. 5B. Myself, Cindi and DH Mike. Kendzee94 and Morsel, Its nice to see some other New Yorkers (not the city). We are from a suburb of Syracuse.

I left you a welcome note on the Facebook group also asking what part of Syracuse. I see you have done two Alaska cruises on Princess Cruise Line. We were planning on doing Alaska in August of 2014. That may get put on hold because of this cruise. I have been looking at Princess, RCCL, Holland America. How was Princess?

Forgot to say that Lynn is originally from Wisconsin and I am originally from Oneida, New York. Now we both reside 25 miles Northwest of Rochester.

This will be the third port for us PC, NY and now San Juan...but dh wants to do a dcl cruise out of Miami that includes Key West...so maybe 4 ports!!

Never thought about it either but this is our fourth. PC, Los Angeles, Barcelona and now San Juan!

We are from Manlius. We really liked Princess, but it's not the same as Disney and Disney is always my first choice. We were not a fan of RCCL. I felt we had to work too hard to have fun. They relied heavily on casino for entertainment. We have a cruse booked on Holland American, so no experience yet.

We say one of the Disney ships when we were in Alaska, Broke my heart to not be on it.
The one comment I would have is that Princess does Alaska all the time for many years, so they have experience in what a re the good excursions and good places to cruise. But that said...If we go again, it will be with Disney. Disney knows how to entertain you, and how to make you feel good.

Whereabouts from New York are you? When we say we are from New York people automatically think NYC. Lynn and I are 25 miles Northwest of Rochester. Just a couple miles from the Southern shore of Lake Ontario.

Chris

We are from about thirty miles NW of NYC, but I can relate to what you're saying. My wife's cousin is from Rochester and gets that all the time. Growing up on LI, we used to think about where we lived now was "upstate" :rotfl2:

My wife and I both went to school upstate, she to Oneonta and me to Binghamton. Two of our kids stayed in state too Cornell and Fredonia.

Hi Steve. I'm kindof new to DIS. I just changed my profile name, so it shows I'm BRAND new. I sent a request (I think) to join the FB group as we will be on this sail:-) Thank you.

I saw our cruise fare at 7:50 am CST on my booking day and then saw it increase $98 by noon that day. I had booked it with my TA by email that morning and later was surprised to receive the higher cruise fare amount on my DCL confirmation so I asked my TA to have the price corrected. She tried and didn't have any luck.

So I'm stuck with the $98 increase in my cruise fare for this cruise. I wrote letters to DCL, and it was escalated all the way to the executive offices, but I was just told that "unfortunately the price remains".

They said that my TA booked our cruise at 10:44 am EST and the price increased at 10:30 am EST! Only a 14 minute difference and Disney Cruise Line will not adjust my cruise fare... I asked them to sprinkle some pixie dust on my situation... for a repeat cruiser... and they would not.

Very unDisney like of them hey?

I'll try to rebook this cruise on our October 2013 Fantasy cruise to get the 10% off and the $200 in OBC. DCL told me today this 2014 sailing is 3/4 full, so I just hope it doesn't sell out.

It's a shame that they wouldn't go the extra mile for a returning guest. I'm sure Walt would have treated this situation differently.

On the bright side, I got a great stateroom next door to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law and it's going to be a great cruise!

:hyper::hyper::hyper: I'm so excited!!! We are now booked for this cruise!!!

One of my friends mentioned it to me and well I just couldn't resist :rotfl:

I still have to read all the pages on the thread but I'm excited to meet everyone and see some of my long distance friends.

It will be me (Sigris) and my mom (Shirley aka Boridiva Belle) traveling on the cruise. By the time we set sail this will be my 6th cruise and her 7th. All Disney!!! This will also be the final ship we need to complete an item on the Bucket List ... Sail all 4 Disney ships!!!

Sorry as you can tell i'm super excited!!!:hyper::hyper::hyper:

Is the issue possibly with the TA and the time it took to execute your request?

Glad that you were able to get the rooms you wanted. (I personally had a TA issue with that, but it all worked out in the end.)

Welcome to the group!
