This is my concern if we don't get a "name brand" hotel on Price Line.

I have read so many reviews of people not getting what they had asked for or booked in SJ and it seems the workers, owners what ever the case, are not too much about fixing a problem.

I will never ever use the priceline "name your price" again. Nor will I use Hotwire's blind booking. I got screwed on both

I have not been screwed yet by Price Line, I have always been pretty lucky, I even got a Down Town Disney Hotel once for Christmas for $75.

So igess I wll cont to use til I get screwed.

I used Better Bidding on both to figure out what hotels I might get. In one, I got a hotel that had just been "bumped up" a star level even tho it shouldn't have been. When I checked online I could've gotten a cheaper price through the hotel itself! The hotel was fine I just got screwed.

Another time they told me about the fees but NOT about the resort fees. So I bid $80 and ended up paying like $120 (50% more!) due to added fees!

Also had an issue with orbitz once where they overbooked a hotel. The hotel called us and said we could cancel without penalty from them but orbitz said they would penalize us (even tho there weren't enough rooms and it was orbitz's fault). SO they ended up finding us a really crappy, smoky room.

I now only book for specific resorts and oftentimes direct through the company.

I had enough Starwood points so I grabbed two nights at the Old SJ Sheraton for us. Our DD/DSIL are trying to decide if they want to wait or buy starpoints to add to our account so I can book theirs too.

We just used up our points in May at Marco island.

So sad Dh doesn't travel as much any more.

The best part is the points we're using were freebies from a timeshare tour.

DH and I will be jumping ship. Due to a few reasons I have just changed our booking to a 7 night Med in August 2014 instead.

It was great to get to know so many of you (mostly through the facebook group) and I hope you all have a fantastic cruise!!

Hey all! My family will be joining y'all. I have wanted to book this cruise since I saw DCL was doing a southern. DH finally relented. (Not going to tell him his indecision cost us few $$$ because the price increased). It will be me, Dh, DD 15, DS 12 and DS 10(will turn 11 on the cruise).

I have requested to join the FB group as well. Can't wait to meet everyone! Only 18 months to go.

You can sign up on-line and the they're having a discount on buying points. I didn't check out the prices on the other places to stay so I don't know if it's cheaper or not.

I booked our two rooms at the cash plus points rate since I had enough points.
