I am amazed at what booking early (especially with Carol ) can do for your pricing! We have two cabins booked for about $1,500 less than one Category 9 on these recently posted prices! Seems like forever ago since we booked, but for that amount of savings, it is well worth it!

I have a question about the brunch that is being offered. It is my understanding that Palo is adult only so I assume the brunch for the group would be without children, is that correct? What was the other option?

This fax came into our office yesterday, and there are ALOT of upset clients. This is not the entire thing, but the important points:

"We want to inform you that because of rapidly escalating fuel prices, Carnival Corporation and plc's six North American brands - Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa Cruises, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, Princess Cruise lines and the Yachts of Seabourn - have implemented a fuel supplement of $5 per person per day.

The fuel supplement, which applies to the first and second guests in a stateroom only, not to exceed $70 per person per voyage, is effective for all bookings for voyages departing on or after February 1, 2008........."

It then goes on to say how it was a difficult decision, yada yada yada.

SOOOOO, long story short is, if you are booked on one of these lines for a cruise on or after 2/1/08, you are going to be assessed a fuel surcharge, even if you've already paid your booking in full.

I think it's a terrible move on their part. Building this into the price for future bookings, ok I can understand that, but having to go back and tell people who've already booked that now they need to pay MORE???? Not good at all.



Do you think DCL will do this tooo???????

I can understand, although I wouldn't be happy about it, them stating, from this date forward but to go back and charge those who have booked, that is disgusting. I would not be happy at all. I hope DCL doesn't do that to those who have booked already. I would appriciate being forwarned and if I choose to book with that knowledge then that is my choice. I don't like not having that choice. Interesting.

It's very likely that is part of the reason the prices are going up so much on our cruise for the remaining cabins.

I wouldn't put it pass them if they didn't learn their lesson for the 08 repo cruises. They attempted to access a 100.00 fee per person due to a change in the billing process for the fee to go through the canal. Everyone got up and wrote letter and they later decided not to charge the extra. None the less they tried. Only time will tell. I sure hope not. Lois

Hello everyone! It's been busy around here, as usual!

Great family photos!! I'll have to post some of us, when I find the cable for the camera to the computer! I "think" the laptop might be able to read the card though. I'll have to see!

Thinking about putting out the Christmas lights this weekend! It's going to be near 60, so I thought we could get them out, just not lit! Plus it would be one less thing I have to do during the holiday rush!
