Hello everyone! It's been a bit of a crazy week around here! Connor had a small case of the Chicken Pox! Yes, he was vaccinated, but 5% of kids that have been vaccinated will still get them! Lucky Us! LOL So he was here with me for part of the week. Thankfully, they were short lived and he got them on Friday night, so he had Sat and Sun, then they didn't have school on Monday, so he missed just Tues and Weds. Today we are being slugs and just hanging out in our comfy clothes, watching TV :happytv: and doing a small bit of cleaning too. :laundy: Nothing major, just those 10 second tidies!

Our boys will be Connor, 11 and Colton, 13 at Cruise time and neither one thinks that girls have cooties! :confused3 They aren't into sports either and would much rather play video games, chat, listen to music, or watch a movie. Colton is SO excited that he will get to spend time in The Stack now. I have never been in there, so I have no idea what it even looks like, but he has and has visions of grandeur! I hope he won't be dissappointed!

Squiggle, I WISH we were coming in THIS Friday, but I assume you mean the Friday before the cruise? For us, it depends on Airfare at that time. Right now, Allegiant Air has $69 one way from Huntington, WV into Sanford. We are going to us them in June to go to WDW. If they still have the same flight schedule and rates, we might use them, but we'll actually fly in on Thursday night. Our tentative plan is to fly in Thursday night, spend the day at The Magic Kingdom Friday, head out for the cruise on Saturday. Returning, the flights leave Sanford on Sunday, so we would plan to go to MGM on Saturday after leaving the cruise ship. Of course, all this is up in the air, but that's what we're hoping for!

Speaking of our June trip, does anyone know if there is a grocery store that carries the Disney Brand of food products? We have a Kroger in here town that sells the cereal, fruit snacks, oatmeal, kool-aid, etc. I would like to have some of those things in our room at Pop Century for our stay. I could bring it with me or ship a box down, but thought it would be easier to stop at the store and get it there in Florida! Thanks for any suggestions!

Is the website up yet?
I feel like I'm not keeping up!
DS9 had a classmate killed in an accident this past week. I've spent a lot of time with him lately. He's been pretty upset . Everybody hug your kids!
Carmen

OMG....our DD23 had a friend die this morning from a car accident overnight...she is devastated....this is the 4th or 5th H.S. classmate of hers to die recently....last year one died in a car wreck (she was supposed to be in the car but plans changed last minute) and just before that another one was hit by a train....very tragic.....

Hope your DS is coping....DD is so upset about this latest tragedy.

Hope all the rest of the Disers are OK...sorry to hear about the Jeep Liberty....we had had our share of dealing with insurance companies and body shops...no fun.

Tonight I am attending a fundraiser for a FDNY fireman who perished in 9/11...not a very upbeat weekend I am afraid.

I have finally had a chance to read through the thread, :surfweb: and this looks like another fun bunch to cruise with! I love the idea of a website for the cruise list. You don’t have to worry about what programs and formats to use for the list. I was the keeper of the list on our cruise last year. It was fun, but a lot of work. I had to maintain the list in Word and Adobe. It seems most everyone has Word or a text reader of some sort, and Adobe Reader. I found not many people have Excel. I had the bracelets made last year also (www.reminderband.com). Now and then, they run a deal where you can get them for a dollar each. We had t-shirts on the Oct.’04 Eastern that was referred to on the Dis as Cruisetoberfest III, and it was very easy to pick out your fellow disers. With the bracelets, you can wear them all the time so it is easy to pick people out at other times on the ship or where ever you are. Here is a picture of the Mickey head that daisy112878 was speaking of. They were personalized for each disers screen name. My DW & I went around late the first night and put them on everyone’s doors as a surprise. They are the size of half a sheet of paper.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!!!

3Sons-I hope that your son is doing ok. What a terrible thing to happen at such a young age...

BigRed1, I love the signs that you had done for your cruise I think we should do them for ours if it is not too much trouble. The bracelets we had for our cruise too and it was great. T-shirts too we had done and everyone looked great in them. We could maybe come up with some designs for them as it gets closer???

Michele, I hope the chicken poxs are clearing up for you all.. How terrible...
Are you going to have a car for your trip in June. There is a Walmart near WDW that has food and is easy to get too..

MJ, YEAH!!! CONGRATS!!! So happy that you will be joining up!!!!!

Hope everyone had a GREAT Weekend!! We had two birthday parties. DH is sick with a sinus thing. But other than that we seem to be on the mend here. I will work on the web site some more tonight... Sorry for the delay sick kids kind of held up the process.

We are also been trying to finalize our summer plans. We have decided to go to ST. Thomas for a week.. Can not wait... For the price to go there we could have done another cruise..LOL!!!! Then in Sept. we are going to WDW for nine days...

Big Red, we are from the same county! I'm hoping that this cruise is during the 2008 fall break!

Hope that jar is bigger than it looks!:lmao:

I know....it is on the small side but whenever it gets filled....I transfer to the big water jug!!! I feel like I am making progress because the cruise fund jar fills up every few weeks.:thumbsup2

Kritter....we were torn as well as what to do this summer for family vacation....we opted to go back and do a week stay in Key West....I was just so excited that all our kids (23, 22 and 19) actually asked to go with us on a family vacation!!! I keep thinking this is the year that they won't want to join us....and they keep coming!!! I guess they know when they have it good!!!:rotfl2:

We stayed in Key West for five days last year and really enjoyed it...this year we are stayting at the Westin Marina right where the cruise ships pull in...to bad the Magic will be in the Med this summer!!!

MJ,

Your soo lucky that your kids still want to vacation with you. They know where it is good..LOL!!! It just reflexs what GREAT parents you are that they want to be with you!!!

Key West sounds great and fun too.. Maybe you can see the Wonder at least..

I do not know why but I am still thinking the kids are not going to like ST. Thomas and they would be just as happy in Cape Cod where we have gone every year. It is just that DH just got a new job and it is a fantastic job and he his vacation time this year will be limited this year and since the cruise he really wants to go the Caribean again.. It has been a few years since we have been there...

The signs are no trouble to make, they are a little costly to print. Good magnetic paper is somewhat expensive, and they will wear out an ink cartridge quick! I would be glad to create the files for the signs and email them to everyone so they can print them out before the cruise.

Hello neighbor!! DW is a teacher in the Lebanon 10th District Schools and we have a 2008-2009 school calendar. Spring break is October 6-17, 2008. This cruise will be the 2nd week of spring break. What part of the county are you in? On our fall cruise last year, there were about 50 or 60 people from Wilson County, and most of them are disers. I would be willing to bet that most of them will wind up on this cruise.:scared1:

We are switching our ressies to go on the Magic! This will be out 5 year aniversary! First time cruising. We were going on the 5 day DD but after my DH realized that it wouldn't work with his job, it looks like we get a 7 day out of it. St. Thomas here we come.

So I told the kids its a go last night. I gave my dd the planning dvd, but I did not tell her we have the eastern booked. She goes up to her room and watches it, and actually takes notes!!! She kept running down stairs with her paper in hand LOL. But then she comes down and says "we should do the western". She thought there was much better stuff to do on the western, judging by the DVD, so now I am convincing her the eastern will be just as good. Poor kid was actually upset by it. She was fine by bedtime I think, but I still have to make sure I show her fun stuff for the eastern. I guess I should have told her before I gave her the DVD that I had that one booked already. It never occured to me she'd pick on that looked the best LOL.

WELCOME WELCOME!! MONAMI7

Erika, That is too funny about your daugheter...

Big red, Sounds great we could post the signs on the web site it you wanted..

Got more snow last night so the kids are home yet another day today.....

WELCOME to our new friends!!! YEAH! We are going to have a great bunch by the time we actually set sail!!

MJ, I would LOVE to have one of those jars!! What a great idea!

Allen, Love the signs! Between that and the black ears around the porthole room numbers, we'll be looking good!

Kritter, Thanks for the Walmart suggestion. Yes, we'll have a car for the entire time of our stay, but I wanted to take specifically the Disney Magic Selections foods. They are available through Kroger Grocery stores. Turns out, I won't be able to get them in FL. Haven't decided whether to send a box, try to pack it, or just forget the idea and just get whatever at Walmart. It would be cute though!!
ALSO, I saw your name floating around a few threads in regards to the Tie Dyed Mickey Head Shirts. Did you end up making them and how hard was it? I think I might try to do this over Spring Break with the boys, but just wondered if I would be in over my head! LOL I am not very crafty, but thought I might give this a try!

Erika, that was cute about your daughter picking the Western!! We have never been on the Eastern, so we are looking forward to something different. I am thinking a beach chair and a Pina Colada are all I will need though! :beach: I haven't looked much at the excursions that are offered. I'll have to do that!

The chicken pox are gone! Connor went back to school on Thursday, so he was home less then a week! I'll just have to wait and see if Colton gets them, but he too was vaccinated. We'll see! Time to think about getting dinner in the crock pot! :stir: Have a Magical Day! :smickey:

I was going to try the tied dyed t-shirts and I never got around to making them. I was afraid to try it...

I know a friend who did them and they came out great. I would love to do them for our trip in Sept.

Let me know how they come out if you are brave enough to try them out.....

Thanks for the welcome. We think we have room 6603. Some of our family may be joining us as well. I am excited.
