Thanks for the welcome. We think we have room 6603. Some of our family may be joining us as well. I am excited.

I noticed that you are DVC members..Where are you going to be staying before the cruise. We own at SSR...

Before our last cruise we stayed for six nights at SSR and then went on the cruise. Trying to decide how to do it for the cruise this time since the kids will be in school and all....

we are probably going to stay after the trip. We are going to try for VWL or BCV. Possibly AKV. Not that it matters much. I am just happy to take the girls to the world for the first time!

We are also DVC! We will be skipping WDW for the cruise in 2008 though. We cannot afford any more days off school and work. I'm kinda sad about that, and mulled over a 4 day for that reason, but we are hoping we can live without it for 1 year.

We are in room 6060.

Key West, St. Thomas.. ya'll have some great plans!
We're going to the Grand Canyon in 3 weeks, but guess which trip I'm looking forward to the most!:thumbsup2

MyDS9 is better, it helped to be away from school for the weekend.
I still can't quit hugging him though...funny thing is he doesn't mind.

On the other board for sept. they had a list of who was going and what room and dining. I though it was great. Anyone here interested?
We have main dining by the way.

Quoted from another thread....
............Now...there are four cabins that used to be Cat 6's but were reclassified and repriced at Cat 7 prices due to a slight obstruction in the overhead corner of the balcony area. People complained that they were not getting a "full" balcony so DCL repriced these four cabin. Now, the obstruction is very small and our family booked all four of these staterooms for our October 11, 2008 cruise.

The cabins are 6134, 6634, 7120 and 7620. You can see pics of these cabins at a website if you do a GOOGLE search for castaway club. It should be the first link. Click on that and then look for "stateroom" link to see pics of the balconies. These cabins still have the plexiglass rails on the balcony and I think a good deal. You are paying for a Cat 7 but getting a Cat 6. On the DCL deck plan they are shown as Cat 7's. If you do a "dummy ressie" at DCL's site and click on a Cat 7 and then pick your stateroom number with one of those cabins...it will tell you if any of those cabins are available for your sail date.......
You have heard the saying You snooze, you loose....You caught me in a moment of indecision, and I lost. I was going to book 6134 tomorrow....It is our fave stateroom  I'll just have to go to Cat 6! Maybe 6132..:rolleyes1

Ummmmm....my mom has 6132 already.....JUST KIDDING!!! But on the serious side....

I just sent you a PM....

I really feel bad :sad2: :sad2:

No hard feelings, I hope!!! What is that other saying....oh yeah.....Great minds think alike!!!!

MJ,

Your soo lucky that your kids still want to vacation with you. They know where it is good..LOL!!! It just reflexs what GREAT parents you are that they want to be with you!!!

Key West sounds great and fun too.. Maybe you can see the Wonder at least..

I do not know why but I am still thinking the kids are not going to like ST. Thomas and they would be just as happy in Cape Cod where we have gone every year. It is just that DH just got a new job and it is a fantastic job and he his vacation time this year will be limited this year and since the cruise he really wants to go the Caribean again.. It has been a few years since we have been there...

Have you been to St. Thomas before....it is a beautiful island...but...if you think they would be just as happy in Cape Cod (I LOVE NEW ENGLAND) then why not save the bucks??? They will see St. Thomas on the cruise in '08!!!

My mom grew up in Gloucester, MA and we spent many, many summers in Gloucester, Rockport and Salem....love it up there.

I see you are from CT...my niece just closed on a house last week in Stratford and our good friends live in Southbury.

And...not sure if anyone volunteered to make the Mickey Ears for the doors yet, but I made a bunch for our November cruise and would be happy to volunteer to make them for this cruise!!! I use black cardstock (poster board) and glue magnets to the back...they seem to stand up better than the construction paper ones....or I can try using black foam this time....

I love the idea for a list.....I'll start: (or do you want to add the list to the first post so everyone knows where it is.....any other info you think we need to add?

Our group has about 3 or 4 more cabins being booked and I hope to get more family/friends to join us....

WELCOME to our new friends!!! YEAH! We are going to have a great bunch by the time we actually set sail!!

MJ, I would LOVE to have one of those jars!! What a great idea! :smickey:

My DD is Los Angeles this week visiting friends (anyone watch the show HEROES on NBC...my DD is good friends with "Claire" actress Hayden Panetierre) and when I speak to her tomorrow I will ask where she got the jug (I think she got it on E-bay)....but I did a Google search and found this site....only difference is my jug is blue but it sounds like it is about the same size...

I just checked ebay and found it in green for less money from the same company!....Green would actually match my kitchen better!!! LOL!!!

MJ, thanks for the links. I am going to check with my neighbor. Her mom owns a few Hallmark stores and it seems like something she would be able to get for me...if she doesn't have it in the store already! Also, if you don't care to make the Mickey Ears, you can add me to the list of those that would like a pair...or 2! We have 2 rooms booked. You'll find us on the way to Secret Deck 7 in 7119 and 7121. Thanks!!!!

Kritter, I think we are going to try and make the shirts over spring break. I'll just watch for the supplies to go onsale at Michaels and AC Moore and get them stocked up. HOPEFULLY, I'll do them right!

Kind of a long day today. I babysit for one of the neighbor girls. She is 15 months old and cutting teeth. I have so much more patience with her then my own kids...sadly enough. Teething...ugh. This too shall pass, but it makes for a long day for both of us!

Time to catch some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.......

No hard feelings!! How can you have hard feelings about getting on a Disney cruise? I would sleep in a lounger on deck 4 if thats what it took to get the ship.:teeth: Got your PM and sent you one back. Thanks for the heads up!:thumbsup2

Wow, we all must really be busy. We were on the third page. Kristin, I have not even had time to email Andy about how to add music to the website, Sorry. I suppose we have time. Hope everyone is well.

Steve

Sorry I have been out of the loop per say..

DH has been in the process of accepting a new position this week for a new company. It is a wonderful new job. He was approached by the new company to take and the offer was more than we could have ever hoped for. So we have been busy talking to our friends that we have grown to love over the last twelve years at his soon to be "old" job. Tomorrow I am going to help him clean out his office since Friday is his last day. Then we are off to NYC for three days for him to get his orientation for the new company. Only if my daughter is better that is.. Or DH will go alone to the city. So things have been crazy here. The phone has rung off the hook. DH's company is soo shocked that he is leaving the Executive VP was in shock and can not believe that he is leaving.. He works with all of the agents for the company and the field is going crazy. But it is a great move only five miles from our house and he was driving close to an hour before.

Ok I promise to get the web site up soon. My daughter is sick again well with the same thing high high fever and all. They sent her for a chest x-ray today but it is clear they do not know what is wrong...UGH!!!!!

MJ, Love the idea of a list. Do you want to start to compile it and we could maybe list it on the first page and then we could get it up onto the web site?? What does everyone think..

Maybe we could have a place on the web site for the Mickey ears too for the doors. If someone wants to volunteer to make them for the group..

Any other ideas for the web site we can include too...

Kristin

Wow, I have really missed alot this week.:woohoo: I have been busy with work and getting my Jeep in to be fixed that I haven't been on the thread in a while.

I hope everyone is doing okay. Hope the all the kiddos are doing better. It is so sad to hear when a young person dies. :sad2: I hope your son and daughter are doing better.

Welcome, to all the newcomers! All of the ideas for the door decorations and bracelets sound great. As soon as tax season is over I would love to help out with anything. Just remember I'm new at this so I can use all the help I can get.

Hope everyone's week is going great. Talk soon.:)

Jamie

I can probably make the mickey ears. I will need to know how many though. Are we talking 100 or more or like 25?
Heidi

We just got home from our DD's friend's funeral this morning.....I never cried so much...the whole church was filled with young people and it was just all so sad....

Kritter....I love the idea of the list, but unfortunately I am not a very good list keeper.....so I would bow out of that task....but my offer from an earlier post still remains to make the Mickey ears.

Congrats to your hubby on his new job.....we spent a lot of last week in the city. DD's boyfriend's family flew in from Wisconsin and they had never been to NY before....went to Carmine's in Times Sqaure and walked all around....went down to view Ground Zero....still brings a tear to my eye. Hubby is a Port Authority Police Officer at the George Washington Bridge and we are proud to say that our DS 21 graduated the NYPD Academy the day after Christmas and is now one of New York's Finest!!! Third general P.O. as my FIL was a Port Authority Police Officer on the GWB as well!! And, to top it off...they have the same badge number!!! We are only 20 minutes from the city and really should take advantage of all it has to offer more often.

Got a few more people to book for this cruise (I should get a commission!!!LOL!!). Who is everyone booked with....we used All Seasons Travel and they are great. We are up to 7 cabins for our group with more to come!!!

Anyone else have a girl who will be 10 or 11 at the time of sailing? I haven't told my girls yet and will wait to tell them closer to time, but I know my DD that age would love to "meet" ahead of time and have a familiar "face" aboard.

My dd will be 3 months shy of 13 when we sail, so not exactly 10 or 11, but in the same age group. How old will your dd be?

It's so sad to hear about deaths of young people, I'm sorry you guys had to deal with that this week. I went to the funeral of a cousins newborn once, it was horrible.

We have been dealing with nasty weather here, finally behaving like a MN winter. Actually these two storms are really bad compared to anything we've had in the last few years. My kids went to school this morning only to be sent home at lunch time. I did a 360 on a side rode on the way home from work, NOT FUN!!!

Is the website already up, did I miss something? I have no idea how to do anything with one, but I will help if I can.

I got my Passporter new edition refill today for my deluxe binder, so I am giving my previous edition to my dd so she can make notes in it, since she is truly her mothers daughter when it comes to Disney.

It will be right before her 11th Birthday. She's quite the social type, and on the last cruise made 2 friends right away that she hung with till the end. They exchanged addresses on the last night.

Its been a few days since I have been to the boards and there are so many people I can't keep up with you all. So Welcome to all the new members and Hello to all you fellow cruisers. I just wanted to let you all know that I would love to help make something for the cruise just let me know what you need me to do. also, for the cruiser who had a dd that was going to be 11, my daughter will be 13 at the time we cruise I know that that is not quite her age but my dd loves to make friends. So, if you would like for them to meet and start talking let me know. We just found out a friend of ours was on his motorcycle this morning on the way to work and a lady ran a stop sign and hit him. He is in surgery now and if everyone could be praying it would be appreciated.
