Welcome Welcome!!!!

So glad you are joining us!!

I can't wait to see your pictures!

I hope those that had the emergencies are alright

Hi everyone, we also are booked on the Oct 11 2008 Magic. Just finished our cruise a few weeks ago (Sept 22 2007 Western) and looking forward to the next.

Realfam- Now that your pic in your siggy in enlarged I recognize you and Michelle! We were at the adult pool the same time as you on the Magic. Dh and I were sitting just a few chairs down from you! He was the big bald guy and I was the pregnant one.
I remember seeing your wife thinking how cute her belly was. So we did "see" each other after all.:)

Hi there MinnieLover,
Funny running into you here:banana: As usual I'm the one surfing the net checking the DISboard for our fam. Oh my gosh, that was close. Should of just had your husband call your name out loudly, wait, she if my Michelle turn to answer then you would have know for sure. Or I guess it would have helped if I had posted that pic before Sept 22.
Loved the adult pool! I don't think any of us will be spending much time there on this next cruise. It will more likely be sitting at the edge of the Mickey splash pool. We have booked for any early dinner sitting and I think we are going to try out the nursery for dinner & show time.
We just found out that they have put us in stateroom 2010 that has a crib or pack&play (not sure which). Apparently there is not a whole lot of choice for rooms when you have an infant.
Speaking of which how's your pregnancy going?

Cheers

Alex

WElcome to all of the new cruisers........

Just think one year from now we will be cruising our way to CC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Bibbidi Bobbidi Bump pixiedust:

Hello. We will be joining you as well. We did our first Disney cruise September 15th and loved it. It was a 7 day eastern as well. We rebooked on board for Thanksgiving 2008 but changed it to this cruise (which after reading the whole thread, I am very glad. Who wants to be a double dipping traveling turkey's or something like that when you can be a Parrothead Pirate pirate: in Paradise?). It will be myself, husband and dd 6 at time of cruising.

We may also have some company with us. My girlfriend is trying to convince her dh to go. She usually gets her way so it will be her, her dh (attached the anchor if we have too) and her two dd's 5 and 8 at the time of cruising. My sister and mom may join us as well. My sister has a room on hold and we are trying to convince my dad to give my mom the cruise for Christmas.

I have seen no talk of fish :fish: extenders yet. Any chance anyone wants to do them? It was my dd's favorite thing that the dis group did. She loved coming back to the room and checking our fish extenders for surprises. It was also the first thing she did every morning, check the fish extender. We also enjoyed running around and filling everyone fish extenders. It gave us a chance to see everyone's door decorations.

Welcome:thumbsup2

And I gotta be the first to ask what a fish extender is?:confused3

Fish Extenders are fabric pouches (?) that hang from the fish next to your door. I am not good at explaining them so here is a link to a picture of ours from the last cruise. It is the last post on the page.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1073778&page=161

The idea of the fish extenders is that you leave little gift for people. We received pencils, candy, a calender, a deck of cards, a seal tight money holder, pad of paper. It was a lot of fun to see what might be in it all the time. What you leave is up to you and no one kept track of who left what.

That's pretty cool!! My daughter would love that.
We called the fish "fish mail" when eve there was something in it

BTW, excellent door decorators on your cruise.

Welcome to the new cruisers! Is there a master list in this thread somewhere? I think we should make one and put it on a certain page, then we can look for it anytime.

I like the fish extenders!!!!! Are there directions for making this? I am NOT creative, but can usually make something with specific direction!

Wishing I was on Castaway Cay today!

We will have the same doors on the next cruise. We loved them and it made it really easy to find our room. Thanks.

My mom made the fish extenders and I bet I could get her to type up directions. I is a quilter and seamstress want to be so I just gave her a picture and the sizes and she made them.

Also, can someone pm me the website? Is there any information I need to give so we can be on the website?

I noticed the signature changes and was trying to preview my sig and submitted instead of preview... Anyway, :welcome: to the new cruisers!! A bunch of the people I have been telling you about did rebook and will be joining us at some point. We are going to have a ship full of disers. Maybe we will be able to talk them into a Jimmy Buffett party one night. Under a year at last. Kristen, I have some more links for the website. I will email them to you. Our trip to New England was great. We hit the peak colors just about perfect in New Hampshire.

Hope everyone is doing well...

Kristin

Hello everyone, wow our group here is sure growing! :thumbsup2 . I can't wait to meet everyone and just hang out by the kiddy pool LOL My youngest son just celebrated his 3rd birthday on the 11th and all I could think of is that in exactly one year we will all be on the Magic! He will be celebrating his 4th birthday on the first day of our cruise :goodvibes . We have been busy bying all sorts of things to get ready, and we are almost done paying for our cruise already  Well I hope everyone is well and I'll try to pop back in sooner next time lol

Welocome to all the new cruisers.

Not sure if any of you have read the entire thread.

But several of us have transferred our ressies to a GREAT TA. We all have gottn wonderful onboard credits, plus onboard stateroom gifts, and the entire group got a group rate for the cruise, plus we will either get a Palo's Brunch or a welcome cocktail reception which ever the group wants/decides when it gets closer. Just to give you an idea I got a 300.00 onboard credit and if you rebooked onboard with Disney you can get well keep that onbaord credit and get the TA'S. It is a GREAT offer. If anyone is interested let me know she said she still has a few rooms under the group rate. Our cruise is almost sold out............

I love the idea of the fish extenders.......They are too cute...

I do not remember who is keeping the master list but we could take it from the website if we wanted toooo and put it on a specific page of this thread???!!!!!!!!

I copied the list from #655 (I think)
This is who we have so far.....a lot of names need to be added
Octoberbride is keeping the master list.
We haven't heard from her in awhile.
I hope everything is ok with her.
Should we PM her to see how she is doing?

Following is the new siggy rule for those who did not know and have lost part of your siggy. I managed to get all of mine in the space provided so I am sure with some work everyone will be able to make it work. Just wanted to pass this on. Lois

Please Read - New Signature Guidelines

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From Webmaster Alex:

Our signature rules were written a few years ago. Back then a lot of our posters used dial up connections and the VBulletin software did not have the functionality it does now.
The old rules were difficult to understand and they took a lot of moderator time to enforce. We have developed all new rules that should be much simpler and much easier to enforce automatically.

1. Your signature will be limited in length. The program will do this
automatically and anything over the allowed length will be cut off

Explanation- the biggest complaint we recieve is that signatures are too long and it takes too long to scroll through threads. We are going to start with a height of 250 pixels, you'll see what that means when we roll this out. We may add an additional option so that a signature only appears once per page.

2. You will be limited to a total of 25 images and smilies The program
will handle this automatically

Explanation- That should be PLENTY considering the amount of space

3. All content and links must meet DIS board posting guidelines.
Signature have the same content rules as any post on the boards

Explanation- Pretty obvious I hope, this includes commercial link, links to innapropriate sites, etc etc

4. You may not have a signature that is so wide it causes the page to
expand

Explanation- This is something the software can't control. Basically the only way to do this is to have a really really wide picture. If your signature means people with a normal resolution monitor need to scroll from side to side you'll be told to remove the picture causing the issue

5. We reserve the right to remove or modify signatures that cause
issues with the boards or slow page loading. Please make sure any images in
your signature are hosted on a reliable site. Any signature that contains
malicious or harmful code will be removed immediately and the poster
sanctioned

Explanation- Most of this should be pretty obvious. One thing people might not realize is that when people complain about the boards being "slow" it may not be us at all. When the boards load a page, if it can't find an image, it can make the boards appear slow.

We will roll this out in a few days, probably Wednesday. You don't need to take any action now, but you probably will want to check your signature after this goes into effect to see how it was affected.
If you have any questions on this please post on this thread on the tech support board, I will monitor those.

The Webmasters believe that these new, simplified rules will make the boards a better place for our posters and moderators.
Thank you for being a DIS boards member!

Alex
