to heck with sending my kids to Kristin's for the summer, I am going to send MYSELF to kristin's for the summer! Swimming pools and ice cream! I'm there!!!!!
well, here is our view of The Hard Rock Park...HRP for short.
We left at about 9, got there at 920. They don't even open the parking lot until 930, so we sat, second in line, for 10 mins. Then we pulled into the lot. If you want regular parking it's $10, preferred (first 10 rows maybe) it's $15. Of course, since we were second in line, we choice to hoof it. there is no tram system. Walked up to the ticket booth and was able to get into the "main street" area and waited for the park to officially open. We rode the Led Zepplin ride with no waiting. Matter of fact, ALL the rides were either walk on or wait one turn. the park was pretty empty! We were able to ride all the rides by 1130. we stopped for food and water. Food was a bit steep. A bottle of soda was $3!! We got 2 chicken finger baskets, one with fries and one with onion rings and it was $18.50. We had thought about just sharing some nachos and it was almost $10. Anyway, after that we watched 2 shows and re-rode the Nights in White Satin, The Trip again. That ride is just WEIRD!! LOL It's basically an acid trip! LOL It's inside, in a ride car, with 3-D glasses and there is no theme to it...you just ride through, listening to Nights in White Satin, looking at all this psycodelic stuff. Once we were done with the 2 shows, it was about 215, and it was getting HOT, so we left for the day. BUT aside from not seeing 2 shows yet and the one ride was down for repair, we saw and did it all! Now, HRP is $50/day, WDW is $70/day. For your money, WDW is a bargain! there is just so much more to see and do! I guess if we had not come into the HRP with our commando disney attitude, it might have taken longer to get through. We are going to go back, maybe Thursday night, to see the last of the shows and the lazer/water/fireworks show....and of course, to ride Led Zepplin again. That ride is, to borrow a word from Kristin, is WICKED!!! It twists and turns and goes upside down 6 times!
We came back, showered and went to Cheese Burger in Paradise. It was really good!! Tomorrow we are either going to spend another day on the beach or drive down to Charleston to go to Fort Sumter. Connor just studied this Fort in school the last few weeks, so this is still of interest to him.
I have photos!!!! Here they come!!
