Good evening everyone, hope everyone is doing good.

I've been working in the yard every spare minute this week, which I love doing. Pruning and weeding, more weeding and pruning. I have lots of roses and I just planted some vegies. Still more to do out there.

My hubby's birthday was Thursday. He choose out to breakfast in the am and dinner at home. Just us, the kids and DD's boyfriend. He also choose going out to dinner last night to celebrate w/ our neighbor-friends, their DD and our DS. Our favorite little restuarant in town, very fun. I'm trying to get neighbor-friend Paty to come on the board and introduce their family to you all since we're cruising with them!

Take care everyone, Mary

Hi Everyone,

Jeez - it's hard to keep up with this board :)

Have sent all my info to Allen for the website -what a fantastic idea.

I really like the idea of a pre-cruise party (Allen mentioned in email -thanks Allen!!) Our flight arrives on Friday (early pm) and we are staying in the Radisson at Port Canaveral. Would love to hear if there is anything planned in that area.

reading thru' the threads you all seem so organised - I have to be honest and admit I haven't even started thinking about pirates costumes or anything!!! Suppose I'd better get my skates on! Will have to start buying holiday clothes soon as the shops tend not to stock summery clothes much later than July here.

One thing I am a little bit nervous about is seasickness - many years ago I did a mini-cruise from Cyprus to Egypt and was as sick as a dog - not only that everyone elase was walking normally and I was walking like an old drunk man  -I could not get my balance right!!!! It wasn't a massive boat (ship?) but the sea wasn't particularly choppy so not sure what was affecting me so badly. I didn't try any medication -just wrist bands but they didn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep seasickness at bay??? i am sooooo looking forward to this holiday and would be devastated if i was sick the whole time......

Hope you're all well.

Katie x

Geez, you guys started a second thread on Saturday? I had no idea.

Morning all!!!

Welcome Katie. I am also terribly nervous about seasickness also! I will be trying everything I can get my hands on to keep it away!

Morning ALL.

Katie,

I wore the patch for sea sickness the entire trip and it was GREAT... I was not sick or anything. I highly recommend it...!!!!

Mary,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning all!

Well our friends are slowly sifting through the rubble that used to be their home. The tornado clean-up on Saturday went really well. It's amazing what a tornado can do -- all the cupboards ripped out of a kitchen but the cat's food dish and water dish left untouched! Really weird stuff.

The weekend was beautiful here - lots of outside time finally!

I'm going to try and check in at least once a week. I can't possibly stay updated on the thread so if there is anything I should particularly know about the cruise, someone send me a PM please!:hippie:

Hope you all have a great week!

Hi Katie,

This will be my third cruise and we swear by Bonine. We take it every morning starting a couple of days before the cruise and none of us have ever had a side effect. (We were a party of 12 last time!) Dramamine can make some people sleepy and the wrist band never worked for my brother's family on their first cruise. With Bonine, we enjoyed every day even while a lot of other cruisers were having trouble!

Hi Katie!!!!! glad you found this new chapter LOL and yes we move pretty fast here :rotfl:
If you go to your local pharmacy, you can get over the counter medication that would help with sea-sickness. I'm also worried about us too since we've never been on a cruise and don't want to risk it!!!! I'm bringing something for "just in case"!!!!!!!!!

Hi Katie!!!!!
I know what you mean about keeping up with this board....it is hard sometimes!!!! We are a chatty bunch!!! LOL

As far as seasickness goes....I am very prone to seasickness!!!! I've been on 3 cruises....... the first one I took dramamine and I was so sick.....the second one I took Bonine and I felt a little queesy when the ship really started to rock but then I would go outside on the deck and walk around and I felt much better after that!!! On the third cruise the ship rocked more than the first 2, but this time I brought Bonine and some seabands (wristbands).....The Bonine workd fine for me when the ship moved a little, but when it really started rocking (18-20 foot swells), I would put the seabands on, and the combination of the 2 worked for me really well!!

I hope this helps!!!!

Good morning everyone!!! Just a quick drop in and hi before I head off to the schoolroom with my younger! (MATH, snuggled up in my bed! LOL!). We have to get SOME schoolin' done as thursday is the used curriculum sale, friday and saturday we have the Idaho Homeschool Convention, and we are ALL going this year! Sean to the kids convention, Kaj to the teen, and DH and I are hoping to divide and conquer the adult convention... Fun stuff!

Have a lovely day everyone....
