Sounds like fun! We are just trying to work out all the details with our DD and her friends. We need to figure out a location for pictures and they want to have an after-prom party so the parents are working on that as well. So far all I know is that they have a limo reserved, there is a grand march at 5 p.m. (photos before); dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse and then to the dance. Quite different than when I went to prom. We just went to the high school gymnasium, danced up a storm and drove around all night getting into trouble!!!:scared1:

Sounds like they are going to have a great time!!!!
It does sound a lot different then when I went to prom too!!!

My girls are going to be so happy there are other kids around their ages!!!!
They keep saying they are worried they will be the oldest kids on the cruise!! LOL

Our prom, way back in '85, was the prom at a Country Club, then we had after-prom back at the school. In the gym there was a DJ and a refreshments table. Then, at about 6 am, we were served breakfast. I remember it was casino night, so they had parents running tables for black jack, poker, a roulette table and maybe craps? Of course, it was all with funny money, but we had a good time. THEN, the next day, we all drove to Cedar Point. It was a long crazy fantastic weekend!

Michele, that sounds like a lot of fun!!!! That was very smart of them to do that....that way they knew their kids were in a safe environment!!!

Evenin' all.. just checking in. Had my six week checkup today at the dr. and got out of that loverly pillow! Still lots of pain and it will be two more weeks before I return to work. He said that now that I'm out of pillow, the PT will consist of strength training and that the pain I'm having is normal. Will still be going to PT three times a week.

Candy, the prom party sounds so nice.

Nancy, glad you enjoyed the Dr. Seuss play... I directed a children's play for our community theatre years ago... all kids, called "Alice in Oz"... it was a cross between Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz. It was soooooooooo cute and the kids did a great job. We had to hold it over for two extra weeks, as it sold out before we opened! OH... I hope you get your day of rest this weekend!

Kristen, glad the luncheon turned out great.

Dance recitals.... wow... those were the good old days.. glad I don't have to deal with them anymore. I taught dancing for 26 years!

I wanna be on Castaway Cay on Mother's Day!

Hope Steve has a good time tomorrow and that he is feeling really good. I still have tyo take a loratab every now and then, but mostly Aleve at this point.

Can't wait to hear about the trip to NYC! Have fun!

We did it a little different. We went to dinner, the prom was at a hotel or event center, then we all got hotel rooms and drank all night. Not very good role models for today's prom goers!!!! I like your idea much much better, with the after parties. Sounds like fun.

An update to yesterday, the kid that passed out got the only perfect score of the science tests that were graded today. They told him it must have jogged his brain to make it work better LOL. Poor kid.

ohhh I bet it was alot of fun doing Alice in Oz!!!!!!! I wish our school did plays like that!!!! I'm really looking forward to Sunday my sleep on day LOL
that's great news that you're not using the pillow anymore either!!! you're getting there and almost healed!!!!! hope you're not in too much pain though:sad2:

It really was fun!!! And yes, it was VERY smart for the parents to set up after-prom that way. I had ~325 kids in my graduating class...and not everyone brought dates from within the class, so there was probably 400 kids at prom. Maybe doing something like that when Colton graduates would be a good idea! Also, if my old memory serves me right, it was a lock-in type of thing. Once you were in, you were in. There was no coming and going. I am thinking maybe you could leave, but not come back? I can't remember now.....

Anyway, I am going to head off to bed. I know it's early, but I'll have to get the guys up at 415, so they can be at the school by 515!! The bus is leaving at 530am and they won't be back until 930pm. Steve can sleep just about anywhere....serving in the National Guard will do that to you!...So, I know he'll be back asleep by the time they leave the parking lot. Connor is already wired for sound, so he'll be a mess tomorrow night. Unless Steve can get him to cuddle in the seat on the ride home!

Steve's Uncle passed away this afternoon. They are currently living in VA, but they want the funeral here in WV. I can't imagine they will have the service before Mon or Tues. OH MAN!! It just dawned on me!!! Standardized Testing starts on Weds of next week! I hope the services ARE before that!! When it rains, it pours!!!

Ya'll have fun and I'll see you tomorrow!!!!

Our kids had the "after" party: party... at someone's house, and breakfast the next morning... they had a great time.

Hooray for the kid that passed out!!! He did good!

Evening Kiddies.

Prom talk eh....

I actually did not go to either of my proms. Had I gone though I would have been at hotels both times, probably rented a limo, and dinner would have been served at the prom.

Didn't miss out on anything really, though a couple of my class officers did wind up getting arrested for filling the tub in their room woth booze prior to prom start:rolleyes1
