Really? Water too? Darn. We pack a suitcase in a suitcase just to stop and get a case of water to bring on board. Might have to read around and see. I know I read on the Carnival boards that they were taking stuff, but I thought it was the Carnival people not letting folks take stuff on board, not the TSA. Well, at least we have the drink station at our convenience. Maybe we should bring an empty bottle to refill to have drinks in the rooms. Something else to plan for!

I was always under the impression that you could still bring water and alcohol onboard as long as it was unopened, and that it was not packed with ice. We brought it on no problem last time.. Still planning on doing this next time...

In regards to shipping boxes this issue was around the last time we cruised. I actually called DCL and got told the same thing. But, I called the place myself that holds the boxes for DCL and it was fine. I shipped two boxes and they were clearly labled with all of my Halloween Candy/Decorations inside of it. The box was waiting for me in my stateroom when we got to our room no problems. I will tell you I stressed out about it from what I read and what I had heard and it was not a problem at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just read some of the thread... you can still ship ONE box. You can NOT Check a bag with water, beer, alcohol or food stuff. You CAN put that in a carry on and bring it aboard with you. It CAN be a softside cooler. NO hardside coolers. It has to be able to fit through the security scanner at the port. (same size as at the airport) If it does not fit, it may be rejected.

That does give me some relief. We checked our bag with a case of water the last time, but this time, we'll just bring it aboard. I'll have to look around for a softside, wheeled cooler.

Time to fix potatoes, rolls, and cauliflower! BBL!

ooooph. We are so stuffed! Like an Easter Basket full of goodies, so are we! Haven't even had cake yet!

Watching I Am Legend.

Ok, FAQ has been updated.

Thanks to Shirley and Making_Memories for their efforts in squaring this away.

I am again going to attempt to summarize this to avoid any confusion.

PLEASE read this carefully before asking questions.

First, a general rule.

There are no restrictions on toiletry items either in carryons or in checked luggage, your shower gel, shampoos, sunscreens and the like are quite safe in either. If you pack them in checked, I do suggest placing them in a resealable plastic bag of some kind to protect from leakage as there is a lot of luggage and it's not handled very delicately to get it onboard in a timely manner.

Carryons:

Carryon rules have not changed. No hardside Igloo-style coolers. NO ICE. A rolling softside cooler bag full of the beverages of your choice is acceptable as long as it can go thru the airport style scanner they use at the entry to the terminal. The small rolling check luggage airlines allow is your guideline on size. Your carry on can contain other foodstuffs, they cannot require any food prep from the kitchen. Just be reasonable on what you bring is a good guideline. Also be aware there are drinks and snacks available for sale in the terminal.

Boxes:

You can ship one box per stateroom, of a size in line with a recordkeeping box, 12 inches on a side is a good guideline, no more than 20 lbs. Full instructions that you are required to follow are in the DIS DCL FAQ post stickied at the top of the forum.

Checked:

This is the biggest change folks. No water/liquor/sodas/other foodstuffs in the checked baggage, either bulk or single items. Yes, that includes no checking cases of beverages with the porters. If you want to bring it, you'll need to bag it up and carry it on yourself per the carryon rules above.

I hope that's simple and clear enough for everyone.

We watched Enchanted on Wednesday when Connor was so miserable.

Not sure I am liking I am Legend. It's sort of scary. I know, I am a whimp. I don't like scary or intense movies.

What you posted about the carryons and boxes is what I had read too. I don't think I'll be needing to ship a box though. I never have before.

That was a good post from that moderator. I like the part where he says just be reasonable about what you bring.

:lmao: but I don't want to bring that much on board, just a few refreshments for late at night when we are imprisoned in our staterooms. We want to bring a few things for the kids for day 1 while we have to wait for our room. Bathing suits, towels, sunscreen, a few water bottles. And hopefully someone brings me a Landshark!!!!
Aren't y'all staying at CIS??? We are now, BIL got us a group rate that was very competitive. So there will be Landsharks at the pool party!!

I think I will bring my rolling cooler with beer, etc. and then I pull my rolling suitcase filled with water. That is what I did last time. I'm a HUGE water drinker as are the kids. THen I had a small bag with swimsuits, etc. in them for the kids...>!!!!!!!
