OOHHHH!!! I have that recipe and have been meaning to make it, just never have! Did it take all day to make? I love to bake too.
thanks for the well wishes for Connor. He did this last year, but his teacher was the devil in a skirt, so we chaulked it up to nerves. at that time, He took a 90 day treatment of pepcid ac and was fine all summer. Over Thanksgiving, he started with the attacks again. I call them attacks because they only last about 3 hours. He gets it "all" out of his system, rests for about an hour and then wants to know what he can have to eat! It's the wierdest thing. Anyway, he took a 30 day treatment of pepcid this time, had the bloodwork done over the Christmas Break, and stopped the pepcid Jan1. Now we wait for another attack. The pediatrician thought that something would have showed in the bloodwork, but EVERYTHING was within limits.![]()
Connor just came back downstairs...he's SO tired 'cuz he's been up since 5am, and now he is worrying himself...what if I get sick? I don't want to wake you? Poor guy...he just needs sleep at this point.
Food allergies????? That' what happened to me about 40+ years ago and then I started breaking out in hives... finally had three trips to ER almost going into anaphalicit (Spelling?) shock, lips and nose and throat swelling shut. All three trips happened after eating beef... no beef in 40+ years and no more digestive or allergy problems... I have to be really careful... life threatening.![]()
Sandra, one of his triggers is pizza...but we are not sure what element it is! Like one day, we ate a Sonic...he had chicken fingers, fries and a milkshake....all of which he had before, but it triggered an attack. Of course, we were traveling that day, so was it the stress of the trip? the food? I dunno. He had pizza last night during the game, and today he's been sick most of the day...but not physically ill, just bad stomach pains. Some else suggested milk allergy...but he drinks milk all the time and has icecream almost everynight. Someone else suggested an allergy to tomatoes or red sauce. I would go with that, but the boys puts ketchup on EVERYTHING! LOL It will probably end up being something weird like an ingredient in the bread.
Thanks to all of you for your support. Until we see the GI, we're kind of at a loss as to what this could be. I am just hoping there is nothing physically wrong..like with his gall bladder, kidneys or intestines!

Anyone going to watch Jon and Kate tonight???!!!!!!!!
Nancy, I can't wait to figure out what is making Connor so ill! Sometimes we can go weeks with no attack, and sometimes he might have one 3 times in one week. It's a mystery!
If you go to http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1575103 this thread lists ALL kinds of recipes. Look under desserts and find the one from Palo. It's WONDERFUL, or is MAGICAL! LOL It's YUM-O No matter what!
Watching it right now.
I must try these recipes.
What is this bus they are going on????
DCL Lava Cake:
4 Squares baker chocolate
1 stick butter
Melt the two together in the micorwave...
Then add 1 cup confectionary sugar
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
6 Tablespoons of Flour.
Whisk together briskly.
Pour into individual baking dishes that are greased.
Bake at 425 for 8 minutes. You want just the top to be cooked. THe inside will still be runny and gooey but that is the "Lava." Then go around the edges of the dish and take the cake out into a bowl or eat it in the dish you cooked it in and top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. On the cruise they put raspberries and confc. sugar on the top....
That sounds easy and decadant, I will try it.

Okay, you made something different! This is what I thought you made....
Palo Chocolate Souffle
3 tablespoons butter, plus more for greasing the souffle cups
6 tablespoons sugar, plus more for dusting the souffle cups
1 cup milk
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons Dutch-processed cocoa
2 ounces (2/3 cup) semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, melted
4 eggs, separated
-Preheat over to 350. Set a full kettle of water on to boil.
-Butter six 4-ounce souffle cups and coat with sugar, set aside.
-Bring milk to boil in small saucepan. Meanwhile, melt butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour and cocoa to the butter and beat with whisk until it has a smooth, paste-like consistency. Reduce heat and cook for 1 minute.
-Slowly add hot milk, whisking until smooth, then blend in melted chocolate. Let cool for 5 minutes, then stir in egg yolks.
-Beat egg whites in separate bowl until frothy. Slowly add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time until glossy peaks form. Stir a heaping spoonful of egg whites into the chocolate, then fold in the remaining whites just until combined.
-Pour the batter into prepared souffle cups. Place cups in large baking dish and add enough boiling water to reach halfway up the sides of the souffle cups.
-Bake for 20 minutes. Serve immediately with warm Vanilla Sauce.
Vanilla Sauce
-Bring 1 1/4 cups heavy cream and 1/4 vanilla bean (split lengthwise) to low boil in saucepan over medium heat.
-Combine 3 tablespoons sugar and 2 small egg yolks.
-Add 2 spoonfulls of boiling cream to egg mixture and stir well, then pour back into the remaining cream and continue to cook over low heat, stirring constantly for 3 to 4 minutes.
Makes 6 servings.
I was thinking, IceCream?? Where's the vanilla sauce?
