Hello all!!!!!

How is everyone?????

I just got back from a funeral, the son of friends of ours.
He was only 36.
What was really sad was seeing how upset his little boy was. It just broke my heart whenever I saw him cry.......I didn't know him...I was just there to support our friends.

On March 9th, I will have been with this family for one year. Seems hard to believe. I know I am overly attached and can't imagine my life without them in it. I was thinking the other day, this must be what it feels like to have adopted. I never thought I could love these kids this much! Especially Andrew. Maybe it's because he's a boy, maybe it's because he reminds me of my own boys, I don't know, but he holds my heart strings, that's for sure! But I have to admit too, that it's nice to not have to get up at 3 am to feed the baby and I do get the weekends with my "big kids". It is easier! But I do love those sticky kisses and big hugs and snuggling with the baby while she takes her bottle.

I know what you mean about those cuddly baby moments! how I miss those too, but I sure do love being able to sleep the whole night too LOL :lmao:
well we're off to go rent some movies for tonight!!! later!

Candy, how very hard it must have been! Any plans for tonight? We are just hanging out!

It goes perfect with Chili! My favorite pieces are the ends and then the pieces that fall off the top!

the lady I sit for gave me another recipe to try...make the beer bread, but then add chopped pepperoni and shredded cheese, then bake! It makes a pizza bread!
Someone brought some bread like this to something we went to a while back, and it was good!! Might go good with a Landshark, which isn't bad IMHO... It isn't the best beer I have had, but it certainly isn't the worst!!

That's exactly how I feel about my grandkids!!!!!!!!
They are not mine by blood......but they are still mine and I can't imagine life without them!!!!

I think I am pretty much just hanging out....other then taking Shannon to a birthday party, but that's pretty much it!!!
I'm pretty tired from today.....while the family went to the gravesite...a few of us stayed back at the church and set up the food for them, then after lunch we had to clean up.....I tried to do as much as I could before I had to go pick up the girls from school!

Boy, I wish the girls took a bus!!!!

Kristin, here are the recipes for the webpage

Beer Bread
3 Cups SELF RISING Flour
1 Cup white sugar
1 12oz can of beer, your choice
3 tablespoons melted butter

Mix flour, sugar and beer in bowl until just combined. Put batter into greased loaf pan. Pour melted butter on top. Bake at 350 for about 45 mins or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Corned Beef
1 flat cut corned beef...about 4#
1 Cup brown sugar
1 bottle Guiness Beer

Remove corned beef from package. Rinse and pat dry. Take brown sugar and coat the corned beef with it. Cover as much of the beef as you can, top, bottom and sides. Place in greased pan. (I use an 8x8) Open beer and SLOWLY drizzle the beer over the beef, being careful not to displace the sugar. Placing your thumb over the opening helps to slow down the pour. Once the sugar is saturated, pour the rest of the beer around the beef, cover and bake at 300 for about 3 hours.

Michele,

Got it on the web site!!!!!!! Thanks,,
Sandra also put up a Great looking recipe too!!!!!!

we're just hanging out too tonight, the kids are watching a movie and when they go to bed we will watch one too.

Candy,

Sorry, to hear that. Must have been rough for you and your family to have to go to that..>!!!!!!!

ANother easy easy recipe.:

Chicken and Rice:

Chicken on the bone. Legs, breasts, etc.. Can use boneless but cook it less time..

1 can chicken broth
1 packet onion soup mix
1 Cup White Rice
1 Can of water I dump the broth out then fill it with water.

Place rice in bottom of baking dish. Place chicken on top of rice pour water and chicken broth over chicken. THen sprinkle the onion soup mix all over the chicken, etc. Put foil over cook @ 375 for one hour. Check it after a half hour if looking dry add a bit more water. Then uncovered for a half hour. Last time, I made it only needed to cook one hour. The rice comes out perfect!! ENJOY!!!

What movies did you get?

The boys are playing Wii baseball. The dogs are going to get smacked upside the head with the bat soon. Sometimes, they are ALWAYS underfoot!

I ate so much chinese, I feel like I just left the buffet! I alway order too much, but I want a variety! ;)

Connor doesn't really like Chinese, so we just get him an order of Chicken on a stick, then crab ragoons, chicken fried rice, vegetable lo mein, sesame chicken and general tso chicken. I told you we like a variety! LOL If Steve was here, he'd have probably wanted a hot n sour soup too! I actually liked the sesame chicken better then the general's chicken tonight. it was really good!
