Hey Kristen.. was watching the end of the race. Carl Edwards won. As long as it wasn't Kyle Busch that's fine with me.

It tickles me to see you guys interested in Nascar. I used to be the biggest Nascar fan, but I don't get a chance to watch the races any more. I joined the church January 2007 and I spend all day, every Sunday either at church, or doing things with the people from church. I don't even know who is on top now. My guy actually dropped down long before I stopped watching, but I kept on cheering for him. I like Bobby Labonte. The year that he won the championship, I won over $1,000.00 in our Nascar league that we had here locally. Well they still do it. I just don't go any more. We had a group of 25-30 people who got together every Sunday to watch the races. We took turns hosting it at each others houses. It was great.

I also own the Wii LOL, Yes very addicting!!

Ok I have a question for you all...Is anyone here a Survivor (the show) follower??? If yes does anyone remember Rupert??? My FIL just called and said that he is there with him in NY at the track!! I am so jelous! Rupert was my favorite and my FIL is there at the track with him!!!

I haven't started working with the children yet. I'll start picking up some tomorrow to do some assessing. That ought to be an eye opener! Our school is a preK-4 and we've got around 600 students. I "get" to give another test at the end of August to kindergarten through third grade. However I'll be one of several testers, so it's not too bad. Just occurs on my birthday though!

Oh boy. Sounds like fun. 2 tests in 1 month. Too bad you have to give 1 on your birthday

Hey Shauna, my friend all the way through grade school and high school was a Shawna. But as you can see, she spelled her name differently. We ended up at different collages and grew apart. Now we talk when we run into each other, but we don't make an effort to keep up. Since, I have met you on this thread, I have thought about her a lot. I think I will try to contact her this week and see if she wants to meet for lunch or dinner.

Wow, the things I could do with $1,000:rotfl:
We either go to church on Saturday if I'm working or early Sunday mornings if I'm not. So usually we're home in time for hte races. And on weeknds i work I usually only miss a few green flag laps unless we have to make stops on the way home.

Aww that is so sweet. Yea most of the time Shauna's are not spelled the same way my mom spelled mine :rolleyes1 I had a couple of friends named Shawna or Shawn and that was neat. Im so happy that I could help you grow closer and remember an old friend  Let me know how it goes :lovestruc

NO idea who that is:confused3
Don't watch survivor. Sat down 1 night to check it out. "Go build a fire and camp" Definitely not for me.

What we did was everyone who wanted to play, put in $50.00 and their pick for who would win the championship before the first race. After the final race, if more than one person picked the winner, they split the money. No one ever picked Bobby but me, so I got it all. I think there were 24 that year who put in, so got something like $1,200. But as they were all quick to remind me, I had put in my $50.00 for several years and had lost. I still came out way ahead though.

I will. I'll have to call around to get her phone number. I'm not sure what her husband's name is, or even what her last name is now. I know that she is an x-ray technician at the local hospital. It really is a shame that we didn't stay close.

You certainly did come out way ahead. Sounds like a really fun group. The only NASCAR league i was ever in was a bowling league. Never won any money off of it.

Hey now that sounds like fun to. I'm not sure I am good enough to bowl in a league, but I love to bowl. I can usually hold my own, at least with the ones I bowl with. Maybe Disney will put a bowling alley on the Magic during dry dock.

Well maybe you guys can make up for lost time  Its amazing how life works out sometimes eh? ;)

The only bowling that I am semi good at, is the bowling on the Wii :rotfl2: Well I am off to head home from MIL'S house. I will be home in about 10 minutes :rotfl: Talk to you all when we get home and on the puter :lovestruc

I love it:rotfl:

We could have a bowling match for a DISmeet. That'd be great. I haven't bowled since i got married sadly. Moved to a different state when I married Rich and just haven't gone looking for a league to join. I was never a great bowler myself. If I scored 150 it was a great game:rotfl: Usually i bowled between 120-145ish. Definitely not Pro Bowler material:rotfl:

Yeah is. While I was typing that I was thinking that I've really not had a "best friend" since. I have had a lot of friends, but I've always just had a group of really good friends. Not any one person that just stood out above the rest. How about you guys? Do you have one "best friend" or do you more have groups of friends. Maybe that is a growing up thing.

Wii bowling!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Now that is hilarious. It is fun though, isn't it? The pool is so hard though. I usually end up getting mad and quiting. Have you tried Mario Cart. Merkie got so excited playing it one night that she actually fell out of her chair.

Sounds like you would take me. I usually hit somewhere around 120+. I have never hit 150.

Oh I hope its not a growing up thing. But i hear ya there, I had a best friend in grade school, but we grew apart. Then I never had another best friend until i started planning my wedding. 1 of my former bowling partners offered to help me, so she helped me make the centerpieces for the reception and 1 or 2 things else. And we became best friendas that way. Funny thing is she said it first. Somebody called her house 1 night while we were doing the centerpieces and she goes "My best friend's here, I can't talk now."
That was kind of a shock. But really nice.

Oh that is so sweet! Since your Octoberbride03, I will assume that that was almost five years ago and you guys are still best friends. Now that is great.
