It is a thread on the community board i got sucked into on weds or thrusday. A DIsser found an old safe in her basement and the whole thing turned into a hysterical enterpirse of speculation about what was in the safe and how much it would be worth and what kind of trip we were taking with the money she'd find in the safe.

Is Heraldo Rivera coming to open it?? :lmao: :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yeah, then someone can throw a chair at him and break his nose too!

LOL that is too funny!!!

How is everyone's Monday going? Babies are asleep. Ashlee is in that teething mode with the fever and crankiness. Thankfully, I only have to deal with it for 7 hours a day...less nap time!

Coaches cancelled practice for tonight. We don't have a game on Sunday this coming weekend, so I wonder if this will be an easier practice week? We've lost the last 2 games though....seems to me, they should work even harder?

I have a corned beef in the crockpot. Let's hope it stays on this time! I have never fixed it this way, so I hope it comes out okay. Steve said it smelled really good when he left for work.

Steve is working at a different store and they don't close until 10 tonight, so he won't be home until at least 1030. I told him, I"ll be in bed!

Swedish Meatballs sound good too!!!

Thursday we will be at SSR about 1. Have 5pm ressies at Yachtsman steak house! After that, we'll be pool side. Then Friday we are up early and heading for DHS for the day, then 8pm Boma ressies for dinner. We won't be back before 10 probably.

Alex – We actually live in Oakville (just west of Toronto - for anyone who is not familiar with the area). I grew up in North York (Toronto) though before moving to Oakville 11 years ago.

Allen – Thanks for the link to the website! It is really wonderful.

Tazgirl - The door magnet graphics are great. Did you do the t-shirt design too?

Elgerber / Realfam / 3goofballs – There ARE a lot of 11-12 dds! They're going to have a great time.

DYTX – thanks for the welcome and I’m glad to hear that you were not in the path of the storm.

Beyond actually paying for the cruise and booking our flight, I wasn’t able to do much yet to prepare for this trip! (and I am usually big on trip planning) so yesterday I figured we’d make some quick decisions and get everything booked.

First decision – What to do on Friday? (We're flying to Orlando on Thursday night and flying out early on the Sunday morning after the cruise.)

Disney, Universal Studios or stay at Port Canaveral and visit the Kennedy Space Center? Decided on Port Canaveral/Kennedy Space Center.

Well, easier said than done! I phoned all around Port Canaveral and there is not a hotel room to be found (well I didn’t check all hotels – but close to a dozen). I did not expect that at all in mid-October! It wasn’t until later last night that I found out that there is a space shuttle launch on Oct 10th! Now it makes sense!

So quick change of plans – we might go to Universal Studios on Friday (we have free day passes anyway for Universal Studios that dh won last time we were there in their Fear Factor show). Today I will see what kind of hotel rates I can find. I’m surprisingly not stressed about it though – I guess because I know it will be fun no matter what we end up doing on the Friday! I’ll just be happy to be on holidays. :woohoo: If some rooms open up for Saturday night, I’ll switch to a Port hotel for the night before we sail away.

Cdhheidi – you even posted about “the launch” yesterday but it didn’t really sink in what you were talking about! I know it would be a big disappointment for a lot of people if they delay the launch so I sincerely hope that doesn’t happen.

Last minute planning sure has its challenges! :)

Usually, after I get the babies to bed, I like to sit on the front porch, get some fresh air, relax a bit. Yesterday it was 95, sunny and HUMID. Today it's about 75, cloudy, breezy and no humidity!! It actually feels COLD outside, even though I know it's really not! I guess they weren't kidding when they said a cold front was moving in!

nancy, I hope you have kept yourself busy today! The first day is usually the hardest, but then the rest get easier and they seem to start flying by!!!

Kristin, you are going to spoil that man! Hot steak sandwiches!

Forgot to say, Maureen, thanks for the photos!!

we are all getting excited in our house!! Had the boys to pack their swim trunks this weekend! They won't be needing them now that school is in session. Need to take them shopping next weekend. They both need at least one more pair of pants...they have outgrown some! and they both need shoes for dinner. I, on the other hand, need to STOP buying shoes for dinner and just wear what I have! LOL But they were ON SALE! :rotfl2:

I hear the pitter patter of little feet. Someone is up from their nap...and it was a short one!!!

See you later!!

I LOVE Swedish Meatballs!!

:fish: I made the mistake of telling the kids all about Fish Extenders on Friday not knowing that there is a deadline to participate in that (which makes complete sense as I know you have to count numbers and start shopping at some point!).

I know… big OOOPS… on my part. Anyways the kids were all excited and wanted to make one so off we went on Saturday to Michaels and Fabricland and they came up with a design and pretty much finished most of it on Saturday night. It wasn’t until I saw the website yesterday that I found out about the deadline!

I know that we are too late to join the existing Fish Extender Gift Exchange, but if there are any other families on this cruise that also missed the deadline and would like to exchange with us (do the “Fish Extender Thing” :cool1: ), let me know.

No worries if there aren’t any other new families to do a “fish extender gift exchange" with - the kids had fun making it and I will just add a new twist and use it to put surprises from us into it!

Let me know if you're interested!
(I think you can PM/email me although I'm not sure how that works on here! )

Laura :goodvibes
