I have been out to get gas..... We have a bunch of redneck idiots around here. We are on the gas pipeline that runs from Houston to New Jersey. It has been running at about 25% capacity lately.(go figure!!) Some says gas shortage, and everyone runs out tries to fill up every can they can find with gas and wala, we have a gas shortage. These people will waste a gallon of gas sitting in line to "top off" with 5 or 6 gallons!!! IDIOTS!!!! Not to mention what this does to the price of gas!!!! The pipeline is back up and running and a fuel barge with 1.4 million gallons of gas arrived in Nashville to day, and you guessed it.....there is a run on gas again!! There are 3 stations here that have gas. I got lucky and only had to wait about 20 minutes to fill up the bug. I have parked the Suburban until it is the only vehicle we have that has gas, or until gas goes back down again!!!!

Feel free to rant. The same foolishness is going on here. I waited thirty minutes yesterday in basically sitting still traffic. I thought that there was a wreck up ahead. But, No! It was the lasted run on the gas pumps that had lines backed all the way into the highways and blocking those us just trying to get back to the office from lunch. I had to waste the gas I had sitting in a line that I didn't need to be in because those idiots all heard that gas was going back up to $4.50, which it never did.

We were down to about 3.25 to 3.50 a gallon before Ike.....Gas never got over $4 a gallon here at it's highest.....until Ike!! It jumped to anywhere from 3.99 to 5.25 a gallon. Tonight I paid 3.89, and I saw some 4.99. There were no people at their pumps!!!

That's just wrong. way wrong. Gas here is Avg. about 3.51-3.65 most places. Texaco is charging higher unless you pay cash or by hteir cards but they've benn on that kick for a couple of months now. And losing business because of it.

They charge right then. I ordered a few weeks ago and the charges were on my credit card statement this month.

No there not rocket scientists or they would have been at work instead of in the gas lines. That is what I really don't understand. These lines are happening here right in the middle of the day. You would think that these people would be at work. And, if they don't have jobs, you would think that they wouldn't be able to afford the gas anyway.

I'm tired! Merkie walked me to death tonight at the festival. Plus, I've put in some long hours this week and brought work home. It seems that I have been out of the office a lot lately and I'm looking ahead trying to cover anything that I think may come up while I'm gone. The last day I will be working is Monday,Oct 6th and I won't be back in the office until Monday, Oct 20th. That's a long time to be away!!!!!!!

Shirley is a wonderful lady. She is a wealth of information about anything you need to know about Port Canaveral or Key West. Just give her an idea about what you want, and she will do the rest. Or if you want anything particular in you basket or bucket, be sure to be specific, and she will tell you if she can or not!!

My last work day is the 7th, taking the 8th off to pack and whatever else needs to be done and then we're driving on the 9th. Back home on the 19th or 20th. Still haven't decided that yet.

Okay guys, who has sailed on Carnival?

One of the local high schools is taking the Senior class on a 7 night cruise on Carnival for their Senior trip. The principal is a good friend of mine and one of my other friend's daughter is senior there. Tonight, at the festival, the three of us were talking and Estill, the principal, said that they were having trouble getting teachers to agree to go with them as chaperones. They have to have an adult to every so many kids. He asked if I would go and help out. The school would pay for the transportation to and from the port and the actually cruise. I am talking a free cruise here !!!!!!!!!!! I am just worried about Merkie (she will be 11 at the time) on Carnival with it having the reputation as being a party ship. What do you guys thinK?
