And today we go over to our soon to be **NEW HOUSE** to tell the guy that we were able to get out of our lease here at this DUMP. So We will see if we can start moving in thing the End of October...cause we will be out of here by the First of November party:

Here is to hoping that Allen and the rest of you without Docs...will get yours soon :goodvibes :goodvibes

Yea me too! Chris is in the middle of a HUGE meltdown...he fell asleep on the way home from dinner and NEVER wakes up from a nap in a good mood...so I made him go straight to bed and now he is screaming and trying to make me a deal that he will behave if I let him go in the living room with Papa and Pop Pop (my dad) but I told him no that he wont learn how to behave if I let him out of punishment. He is finally calming down but Im with him in here to cuddle....Yea I know I am not helping his punishment if I am in here with him...but I am tired as well (he really hasnt been back on schedule yet from our Vegas trip...3 hours difference in time) so I dont fully blame him for the lack of schedule he has now. I need to get my butt in gear to get him on one...Im hoping that the new house will help...I can get a time together of when to give him a bath and brush teeth and then storytime before bed (maybe that routine will help) Although I am a night person so I am sure he gets that from me...Im not saying it will be an earlier bedtime but at least a routine is a step closer! I used to have him go to bed at 10pm (still not early but earlier than what he does now) and that was good...he is being WAY TOO CRABBY these days for me NOT to install a new bedtime routine and an actual bedtime again...prob 10pm is what I will be shooting for. :thumbsup2

Isn't he three years old? Just my opnion but isn't ten pm a bit late for him to be going to bed. A good bedtime routine should be started now before he goes to school. Once in school they need to be in bed wicked early so they can function during the day. My girls are six and we start the bedtime routine by 7:30 and they are asleep by eight if not earlier!!!!!!

I'm thinking of calling Shirley.Sounds like she does a great job and I wont have to get it there and try setting it up.I think the girls will be soooooo excited to walk in the room for the first time and see fun stuff!!!!:)

Yeah, I was thinking about emailing her myself. I love the DCL stuff, but I honestly don't see wanything in the pics they show that are worth the money they're charging, except possibly those pearls.

If i can get something nice at a more reasonable price, that'd be good.

Hi Amber!!!
I know!!!!!!! just the look on their little faces is worth it!!!!!!!
we were going to do just one large basket of stuff but then I though about it would be more fun to have 2, so we'll do that instead and have either 2 small or 2 medium size tied together.

So, you are going through Shirley as well? Are you doing the buckets or totes or what? I can't decide!

Routines and consistancy is key for kidlets, I started mine as babies. I start bedtime at 8 pm for my 9 and 7 year old. They need at least 10-12 hours of sleep to function through the day especially in school. Just my two cents worth.

Hey Gail...Just noticed you posted, must have posted while I was typing ;) Sounds like fun...the Black Gold Festival...Sounds like something I would enjoy to go to ;) Have fun and talk to you more later

Hello Shauna! The Black Gold Festival is named after coal which is what Eastern Kentucky calls black gold. It is in honor of the coal mining industry, which is an important part of the economy here. To me, just as I said before, it's an excuse to eat, talk, etc. Tomorrow night a local band that has hit it big (or so every says) called Half Way to Hazard is doing a free concert at the Amphitheater outside City Hall. They have apparently been touring with Tim McGraw or someone like that for the last two years. I've never heard of them, but then again, I only listen to Christian music.

Thanks Gail on the celebration smilies!! Today has been a good day for me :thumbsup2

Yes he just turned 3...I am thinking I will move it to earlier once I can get him in bed at 10pm again...Im just shooting for a time now (verses my stupidity of NOT giving him a bedtime when I should have started along time ago)...It will start out at 10pm and then gradually move earlier :rolleyes1 Im just afraid that he will REALLY FLIP OUT if I just suddenly put him at 7:30pm...plus Mike doesnt even get home from work some days until 7pm so that means Chris wouldnt get any time with Papa....especially during Tax season when Mike doesnt even get home till after 8 or 9pm :sad2: I will get it worked out though ;) I do admire those who stick to bedtimes!! :lovestruc

I don't know about baskets, but I am thinking of the room gifts, with the 2 robes for us, and maybe the cake one for the kids. Also thinking of the duffel bag one.

we want to get a few things too, the bottle, the memory box and DCL travel pack.....

I was going to ask if it was after either FOOLS GOLD or COAL but I didnt want to sound ignorant :lmao: I think I might have head of the group...I listen to all kinds of music (used to be only country but since have moved away from it) LOVE Tim McGraw though

Cruise question

OK just realized I still don't have much in the way of concrete plans for the islands. Can you guys all refresh my memory on what you guys are all doing on the islands??

I understand that you want him to see Daddy but he needs his sleep, there are times that my kidlets don't see their dad but thats life, they need to go to bed. I would just put him to bed at an appropriate time, if you are consistant and follow through he will adjust, HTH

I think I'll go for the buckets....then they can use them at the beach!!!!!

Yanno, I have to totally agree with this!! I think you'll find that with a good schedule he will sleep better and longer. Also, and this is just my personally opinion, he needs to sleep in his bed. He'll sleep better and you and Mike will too. I also find that getting the boys to bed at a descent time gives me and Steve time to be "us" without "them". Even if we just sit here at the table and talk. It's adult time. I can remember one time I was getting the boys to bed and they wanted to stay up. I told them no, they asked why? I said, "Because I am done and your life depends on you being in bed right now". LOL I think this move might be a GREAT time to get him to his own room. You can have him help decorate the room....Cars would be great! Then you can start by just sitting next to his bed, once he falls asleep, you can walk out. Then sit in the middle of his room, then in the door, then "I'll be back in XX minutes to check on you". Trust me, it can be done. I am guilty of rocking Colton to sleep until Connor was born! YIKES! I had to wean "us" off of that. And that's what I did. I sat in a chair in his room and every night kept moving the chair closer to the door. It will work. He will live with out you. :lovestruc I know this time goes way too fast, but good sleep habits are priceless!!! I don't know how you get up in the middle of the night and stay up with him! Why is he waking? too crowded in bed? Can't move? Snoring? who knows....... again, what is right for one family, might not be right for another. Don't take this as preaching, I am not. I just want to offer my advice to help you and Chris have better nights!!!! Good Luck!!!

I agree there have been numerous times when the kids have not seen Bruce due to him working. But the sooner you start getting him to bed on time the better he will be during the day. He is not going to like it in the begining but he will adjust. I would just set the time and put him in his room no discussion, if he cries he cries.

Very true. I am lucky, my kids have always been so great about going to bed. Heck, my son is 15 and I don't let him stay up till 10. He has to get up before 6 for school, and I know as it is, he doesn't get enough sleep.
