Oh me too! My bet is though that they will use one of the older ships for that one. Wasn't there something said about the first 4 or 5 years of the new ships having to be based out of PC? Not to mention they have a proven customer base for that area, and not as proven for an alaskan route...

I guess we will find out eventually! I am just looking forward to this cruise and seeing what kind of magic they have created on the Magic in drydock!

I'm so jealous. You are so lucky to have a pool. We don't have enough room in the yard for a pool. I guess it's the price paid for the convenience of living right in town. I could walk to work if I want to, but we have no room outside.

Making cheese and spinach tortellini and bought some italian bread to go with it!

The boys aren't interested in going to the game tonight! YAY!! So we will stay in. Colton has homework to make up from missing school yesterday and Connor just needs to rest. I need to do more laundry...this washing a football uniform every night is ridiculous! My gosh. I told Steve that if we weren't going on this cruise, I would spend the money to get him another pair of practice pants and a jersey. I just don't have a spare $100 laying around right now!! LOL

To add to my week of worry.....my friend's DH is in the hospital!! He has swelling and infection in his legs! IV antibiotics and pushing fluids! Ugh.... I called one of the neighbors to tell her, and she informed me that one of our neighbors that moved away, her father passed today. I am blessed that none of this is happening to us directly, BUT it is happening to everyone around us that we care for.

time to start cooking!!!!!

Sounds good! I was hoping that it would say that they were putting up a retractable cover for the pool and stuff like, indicating Alaska for 2010!!! I guess not. I read on a thread that Disney has filed for a permit to begin sailing to Glacier Bay starting in 2010, but maybe this is for one of the new ships. If Disney goes, I am so on that ship.

Based on a new agreement Disney just signed with the Canaveral Port Authority, the new ships will be based at PC for several years.

I had heard that the new ships had to be based in PC for so long also, but they will have to make some big changes to the Magic or Wonder before they can be used in Alaska. But, they have applied for the permit so they are sending something there.

I hope they are right. I would love to go back to Alaska, on Disney this time. That has been rumored since Disney first went to the west coast.

Maureen- Are you feeling like I am feeling...Not the best couple of days (Its nothing to do with Disney but just irritable??)

That's exactly it. Its not anything specific, work's fine or as fine as it gets in Sept. I'm just off. I'm trying not to let it linger, but sometimes I have to let it run its course. I'm a lot better as an adult, but I've always been a moody person.

I figure if I don't snap myself out of it 1 of these days the UPS man bringing my docs along oughta perk me right up, though i know that's still a little bit off.


BTW, my across the street neighbor is on ship duty for the drydock. He is actually pickling her up on Friday. And we will make time to visit and get y'all some pictures. Though it will not be this weekend. Hanna seems to be on track to dump us some rain here. If not other stuff.

Didn't the new contract press release from Port Canaveral state that hte new ships would be based there for 5 yrs? If I remember correctly this was in exchange for PC knocking off the penalty fees DCL incurred from sending the Magic to LA for the summer.

As for the Alaska thread, I read quite a bit of that. Seems like the permit application is more of a requirement for slots in the bay. And somebody who reallly understood the prospectus on the Park's site said that even if DCL were to get the permit sailing wouldn't actually start unitl 2011 or 12 cause the cruiselines were giving something like 2 yrs back to the parks right off the top. And that if DCL had to submit for permits this year if they even wanted to consider sailing in AK by then. If they hadn't then they'd be outta luck. So I think they are just keeping future options open, and not have anything set in stone as far the west coast goes.

I don't know. I'll ask him if I get the chance. He'll be working a lot more than usual since Disney likes to go so quick. Lots of overtime coming his way. He did say that he Loooves working on them. The wonder and the magic are the nicest cruise ships he's ever worked on he says. Very impressive. He volunteers to pick them up every time drydock comes around

It's been a busy day around here!!!!!! Took Meagan to school, then Shannon to the dentist, stuff around the house, and just picked Meagan up!!!!
Tomorrow will a little more busy!!! School, lunch with a friend, Bloomingdales, getting the guest room ready for Amber, and then picking her up from the airport!!!!!
