I'm really surprised there isn't a thread yet for our cruise. Okay I'll get this started and hopefully all you Fall Break cruisers will chime on it very soon!!

I'm Sharon and I will be cruising with my son Robby, a senior in high school. he'll turn 18 just 2 days before this cruise so He'll get a chance to experience Palo & the Spa for the first time. This will be my 4th Disney cruise & Robby's 2nd Disney cruise.

Anyone else coming along with us or do we have the "Disney Wonder" all to ourselves?

Well. welcome aboard! How many Disney Cruises have you been on?

This will be our first Disney. My DS is soooooo excited.

I have 1 DH, 3 DS's. Twin Boys who are currently Juniors in HS & the other boy who is a Sophmore in HS. For this cruise Robby (the oldest twin by 2 minutes) will be going with me - just the two of us. It will be my 4th Disney Cruise & Robby's 2nd Disney cruise.

In October 2006 we took the whole family. We had two of the SPR's which were wonderful. The twins turned 14 during that cruise. Our boys did not know we were actually going on the cruise & thought that we were there just for a tour of the ship. We got all the way into the stateroom before making the announcement that we "didn't have to get off the ship for a whole week". They were dumbfounded, shocked and afraid to actually say or ask so we're really taking a cruise. We got em & got em good To this day they shake their heads in disbelief that they didn't figure it out sooner.

Your 5yo DS is going to absolutely love it.

Welcome aboard Disneychic. Congratulations on your upcoming 10th Anniversary! DH & I celebrated our 10th Anniversary at WDW too. We were there in Sept 2001 & yes we were there on 9/11. Our 20th Anniversary is coming up next summer in 2011 & we'll be celebrating it on the Disney Wonder on an Alaskan cruise.

Where are you staying at WDW in October?

Hi Twinmonm108 It's interesting that you were at WDW on 9/11 -- I was at World Trade Center, where I was working at that time (my husband and I have since moved from NY and now live in Maine). But, we had gone to WDW at the end of Sept. that year (it was the only thing that made me even remotely smile after living through 9/11 - going to WDW is very theraputic for me), and my goodness it was completely empty (I have pictures of Main St. USA and it was a ghost town).

We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for our 10th anniversary in a savannah view room (first time staying there and we are SOOO excited!). We are book-ending our cruise w/ 1 night before the cruise and 3 nights after the cruise. It's so exciting that you are cruising to Alaska in summer 2011! We are actually going on the Magic in August of 2011 on the European cruise! It's funny that we both have cruises planned during the same times in 2010 and 2011! It's nice to meet someone who has almost the identical cruise timing as I do!

DisneyChic - we will have to exchange 9/11 stories this October.

We're DVC members & Animal Kingdom Villas is one of our home resorts. We've stayed there 3 times with Savanah Views. I'm sure you'll fall in love with the resort.

Congrats and welcome!! You've definately come to the right place for tips! There is an EXCELLENT packing list on the DIS in the cruiseline forum under the FAQ, it's an excell spreadsheet and EVERYTHING you could possibly think of packing is on there. I use it for every cruise (and we're going on #10). Also, another tip that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that I learned on the DIS was to pack an over the door shoe holder, this works great for all of your toiletries, sun block, brushes, perfume/cologne, deoderants, etc. The bathrooms (even if you get the split bathroom) have limited storage space. The over the door shoe holder (I get the one from Walmart, it has the clear pockets so you can see what's in each one) works very well. You don't reallize how many things you can store in there!
