October 09 Roll Call!

Seems like everyone is going in big parties apart from me with my daughter. :) None of my family will go to WDW.:sad1:

You should think yourself lucky - I wish my family didn't want to go with me :lmao: That way I could go on my own, be a completely mad commando and hit the parks full force every day.

Seriously, I am sure you and your DD will have a blast - I've read your last trippy. And, if you see us around the parks, be sure to come and say hello and join us for a drink - I don't suppose there will be many times when we haven't got one on the go :rotfl:

Ah here you are now in full force!!!

I didn't know you had a pre-trippie, what's the link and I'll come on over?!

Your link ma'am ;) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1986701

We've always enjoyed the flexibility when there's been just the 2 of us, we'll see how it goes with a group this time round!!

It should be fine however I am still nervous about going alone with a 7y/o.

I can totally understand you being a bit nervous about it. However, it's not like it's her first time so she know what to expect on the journey etc. Have you decided yet where you'll be staying? I know you own AKV, don't you - will you stay there?

Thanks, my DD is lovely company and I am lucky to have her to go with, she is very excited about going to her Disney home. I can't help worrying about it a bit though.

yes we own AKV.
I am planning 7 nights at AKV as DD wants to stay at her "Disney home" and if we can get in at 7 months BWV for 4 nights before the cruise, not getting my hopes up on that one though and after the cruise, VWL for the last 3 nights which is DD choice.

I'm going next October, 6th-20th! Staying at POP and can't wait.

I'm the same as you Claire, very nervous going on my own with two young children. They'll be 3 and 6 then.

Getting a bit panicky about the eldest not being able to go on anything as my youngest may not be big enough by then. :( At least with two adults you can use baby swap. If Alyssa isn't big enough, then none of us can go on, bless him.

How possible is it for a 3 year old to grow 4 inches in a year???? lol

We should arrange a meet once October hours are out,(not sure what we will be doing until then) DD has made plans for us to do MNSSHP twice though.:)

Yes, definitely. I'm booking my ADR's before I have my itinerary set in stone lol.

:D

We are flying from Manchester on October 22nd with Virgin for 2 weeks:cool1:

It is only our second trip to WDW and our first with Virgin and going from Manchester! So lots for me to worry about between now and then.:rotfl:

It will be me, DH, DD,16,she will be 17 the day after we get home, and DD,15.

We've got the first 3 days at All Star Sports, and the rest of the time at OKW, which we bought into last year, sight unseen:scared1:

We'll be going to MNSSHP, and I'm trying to figure out which character meals we need to do.:confused3

Old Key West is a lovely resort - we stayed there for a week in April and really enjoyed it.

We are hoping to do MNSSHP also - we did it twice in October 06 and it was brilliant.

As far as character meals go, we really enjoy breakfast at Crystal Palace - would like to do Ohana brekkie or dinner as well. Most of our meals will be off-site this time, though.

We went to MNSSHP last year, and the kids totally ignored all the planning advice I had, which said just to do the special stuff on the night of the party and ride the rides another time, so we went on rides and missed the party stuff!:headache:
We got bags full of sweets, only for most of it to be disgusting, so it came home as american gifts for the kids friends:lmao:

Next year I am going to make them have pictures with all of the Dwarves and the villans and anybody else I can find:rotfl2: They will be dancing with Stitch, visiting fairies, you name it, they'll be in line for it.:lmao:

We tried Crystal palace last time and I wasn't impressed:confused3
It might have had something to do with the fact I ended up as table sitter in case the characters appeared whilst everyone else was getting food, so I ended up with 1 mickey waffle that one of the kids gave me off their plate as a last minute thought:rotfl:

The characters all appeared about 5 minutes after we sat down, the waitress had said we had plenty of time, and then had to go and call them back:lmao: The kids got pictures, my DH ate what was on his plate and decided we were leaving to take advantage of the empty park. Then he wondered why I wasn't too happy about spending the money for the meal and not getting anything:rotfl2:
It is on his list of places he wants to go back to, and on my list of ones to avoid!

He then called me a planning nazi later in the week, for trying to make sure we didn't just wander aimlessly around and have to join long queues for all the stuff he wanted to go on!:confused3 :rotfl:

We also thought some of the American candy was pretty rank when we went to MNSSHP for the first time last year, so we kept it for the trick or treaters back home! :rotfl:

Are you all planning on dressing up?

It's good to know I'm not the only obsessive planner out there too! And powering around the theme parks every day like it's our last ever chance to see absolutely everything in 1 hour!

I liked most of it, though chucked aload away as I had loads of the same that I didn't like.

I don't know about dressing up, the kids wanted to last year, then chickened out, they ended up basically going as themselves.:rotfl:

After the terrible flight over there last year, I was sure that DH wouldn't ever want to go back, so I went into major "see everything" mode.:scared1: I did calm down after about a week, when he up and joined DVC without any complaint:worship: :cheer2: :confused3 He hadn't even seemed that interested when I had been trying to tell him about it at home, for months;) But then when we got there and he saw the info booth thing at the hotel, he said we should go for the tour:laughing:
I'm glad he signed the paperwork there and then, as the flight home was even worse.

I was poorly on the flight home last year too.
I always feel rougher on the way home, but I normally make it to the airport before I have to be sick, last year I had my first experience with a barf bag - I needed 2

This year I'm stocking up on travel sickness tablets and ginger. I thought I'd grown out of it, but obviously it's coming back to haunt me now...

men :headache: At least he joined dvc though and redeemed himself !
