Oct waitlist BWV WWYD??? REVISED: another thought VERO? what are chances

We have a Friday - Thursday stay planned for Oct . Currently have Friday THEN Sun.-THurs. for studio at BWV. Waitlisted SAT/SUN since 7 months out(yes, I know F&W but have stayed there every Oct & never had this problem). I also WL 1 BR SV@BWV as we bought more pts (yes!) at 6 months out.
I checked around yesterday to see what other resorts are available for Sat/Sun thinking I'd cancel the Fri night & NOTHING is available (even MS said OKW or SSR should be avaliable). NOW I am wondering if I should just cancel the 1BR waitlist & WL Sat. /Sun. at OKW or SSR. Don't know what to do about Friday night. Sure don't want to check in & move for 2 nights & move back BUT if WL comes thru at studio w/in 7 days......We drive so moving not a big deal. I HATE not knowing what to do but I am sure the 1BR odds are very low but you never know???? WWYD??? Thanks in advance.

I'd keep the waitlist for the Studio at BWV. If it comes through, then you will have all nights in a studio at BWV.

I'd cancel the 1 bed BWV SV - chances aren't good it will come through and you would have to move if it does, anyway. Then I'd book or waitlist the first 3 nights of the trip at either SSR or OKW as a back up. I'd also haunt the online system, trying to find something that will work. You can always cancel waitlists if you find something that will work. I'd probably book something for cash as my fail safe, but make sure it was something I could cancel.

As far as the 31 day or 7 day waitlists go, keep in mind that cancellations 30 days or less will result in holding points. That won't matter if what you end up with costs the same or more as the reservation you cancel.

Have you given any thought to a Saturday cash ressie at the BWI or Swan,Dolphin just in case you are unable to get your wait list? This has happened once to me and we stayed at the Inn just to be close. Give your bags to the Bellhop and have them delivered when you are back in your room. Hope your studio come through for you.

I looked today & realized Vero has availability....we could go to BWV Fri then down to Vero Sat. & Sun. We have NEVER been to Vero so this might be a good option and a way to try it. SO ANOTHER ??? Looks like plenty of availablity....will it stay that way in Oct. i.e. IF BW doesn't come thru w/in my 30 days, do you think Vero would still have plenty options (studio or 1BR) the first week of Oct.???

I'd book the Vero if that is an appealing option and keep the BWV waitlist rather than risk the Vero being booked up too.

I would definitely book Vero now so you have it for sure then keep your waitlist for BWV. Indicate that the vero reservation is to be replaced if your waitlist for Boardwalk comes available. If it doesn't then you would enjoy the weekend at Vero. We always do a split stay with BW and Vero. It's our favorite type of trip!
