Oct vs Dec Availibility for Studio

We are considering going down towards the end of the year. Due to some work issues, we are not sure if we can go in early December (our preferred time) or in October. We probably won't know for certain when we can go until June or July at the earliest. We own at SSR but don't aren't too picky about which resort we could get. We would only need a studio. Is their any reason to be concerned about not being able to get a studio somewhere on property for our stay during either of these two time periods? I am hesitant about booking anything until I know for certain since we would be borrowing points for this stay. Thanks in advance.

You probably could get a studio somewhere if you book in June or July, most likely OKW or SSR. You can always waitlist for another resort.

I agree that you will probably be able to get a studio somewhere but you might need to waitlist. I was surprised when I recently got on the waitlist (first time!) for spring break time frame (prime season) and was able to get all my nights in a studio at my preferred location via the waitlist.

I think that DVC was very busy this Oct. Maybe it was due to rescheduling because of the hurricanes, and the F&W and MNSSHP. Does anyone remember this, that nothing was available? I remember being very very happy to book a studio at OKW for 2 nights at the beginning of October. We booked it in August.

October last year was crazy!!! I do think alot of it was people who had canceled over all the hurricanes. My cousin had somthing like 26 days leway to book a 9 day trip. From the 11th of October to the end of the month. She was unable to get Any DVC at any property. She ended up at the cabins for 360 per night!

if you want Dec 1-14 - I would go make the reservation NOW. if you need to cancel later - that shouldn't be a problem unless you are using borrowed points.
