We're still up in the air about where we will be going in fall 2007...Jamaica, a cruise to Bermuda, WDW or U.S.V.I. WDW is a definite possibility...we just had our 1st trip last month and can't wait to go again. We're hoping not to spend over $2000 for our 2007 trip..to wherever it may be-LOL! We'd like to go sometime in Oct-Dec. If we go to WDW, I'd prefer to go the 1st week in Dec. so we could see the Christmas decor. BUT if I get pregnant and have a baby in June or July of 2007 I'm afraid it may get too cold in Dec. for the baby. Is there another time in Oct-Nov. that has low crowds and pretty cheap airfare? Any advice would be great!

I say go to WDW . My DM just had a baby and we are possibly going in the 3rd week of Nov. I dont think Disney can be done on $2000 but thats my opinion. Anyway, we are possibly going this Nov and we have a newborn the weather is great and the crowds arent big plus they usually have the xmas decor up by thanksgiving so thats an added bonus. I say go WDW in Oct-1st week of Dec.

It's easier to keep a baby warm than it is to keep a baby cool. I'd go for December. When we went in December, it was in the low 70's during the day - perfect park weather. If there was a cold snap, you could just put a few blankets in the stroller to keep baby warm. We've gone twice in October and it was in the mid to upper 80's each time.

I agree - go to WDW! You won't find many places that are as baby friendly! As for dates - we LOVE October! The weather is great, not much rain and light crowds. That said I have to admit I've never been in December. I do agree with the pp that it is much easier to keep a baby warm than to cool them down...plus you really aren't supposed to use sunscreen on a newborn and October is pretty sunny (once again Im not sure what the weather is like in Dec...)

I've never taken a newborn - but we did take my DS when he was 18 mo and it was fantastic! This year when we go my DD will be 14 mo and I am excited to see how well (or bad) this goes...

Good Luck!

thanks for your responses! My dh told me he doesn't really care where we go next year...as long as I plan it-LOL! It's funny because he's always wanted to go to Jamaica and never wanted to go to WDW. We were there for our 1st time in May and when I approached him about where to go next year I suggested Jamaica...he looked at me and said "or Disney would be fine too" I was like who are you and what did you do to my husband-LOL!!! I was totally shocked and now tease him that he is an official "Disney nut". I know some people think it's crazy to take babies on vacation, let alone Disney, but we've decided that we already have 2 kids, how hard can the 3rd one be? I'm not a big "baby equipment" person to begin with, I nurse my kids and wear then in a baby Bojorn carrier or sling and their usually pretty happy the first 6 months with that...then of course they become more mobile and more of a challenge. I'm hoping that I'll have the baby in the summer..that way when we go he or she will be 4-6 months old. :)

Hi. My family has traveled to WDW for many years, and decided to skip it last year and go on a 11 day cruise. Our daughters (2,4,11)and husband loved the cruise. I had a great time, but missed WDW sooooo much. We stopped in Roatan Island, Cancun, Jamaica, Belize and Grand Cayman. I can't honestly say that I felt safe at "any" of the islands, including Grand Cayman. I was constantly checking for our passports, worried about the many people who were constantly approaching us. (It really bothered our 4 yr old) When were at Disney, I actually relax. We plan a longer visit and take alot of down time. I don't believe I've ever felt safer on vacation than inside the world. Have a great trip. Janice

We're having trouble deciding about a cruise too. I've been on 8 cruises and love them. Now we have a son. I'm kinda worried about being in such a small cabin with a toddler. There's no room in the cabin let alone adding a pack-n-play. There's no bathtub unless you pay extra for a suite. And the cruiseline we go on does not allow children in the pools until they are potty trained.

I agree with the previous poster about being leary at these islands. I disliked Jamaica & Rhoatan & Martinique. Loved the virgin islands (especially St Thomas/St John). We're thinking of doing the New England/Canada cruise next time. Maybe when ds is older. Not sure yet.

But for this year, we are doing WDW. Can't wait.

Have fun whatever you decide.
