Has this been discussed?

Wednesday, October 2nd. AM EMH instead of the usual PM EMH. - No MNSSHP scheduled for that night.

Probably a special event or something creating the need to shift the schedule around that week. Or a website input error. 50/50 chance.

Take it for what it is worth, but Kenny the Pirate carries that forward on his calendar to every Wednesday of the month, with no evening EMH at all for MK.

Interesting. Thanks for this. Maybe they’re up to something. :scratchin

I wonder if PM EMH are being replaced with DAH?

They gotta make time for all those after hours hard ticket events....

I must say I am truly bummed about this as I was hoping it would be the same schedule as last year considering Epcot has the same EMH. It makes my planning much easier! As of right now there are ZERO evening EMH for MK the week we're going and I find it to be irritating especially given the time of year. We truly enjoy the evening EMH and are a part of the few who will stay at the park until 2am when they have crazy hours in the summer. I hope this changes, and I really hope this has nothing to do with DAH...that really might break my heart.

I hadn't noticed that, an we are there that week. I prefer AM EMH but have GG PPO at EPCOT planned that morning (assumed it would be then MK in the evening...). And now they have the last Illuminations 9/30, the only night we can catch it, and the new show 10/1 when we were going to EPCOT for EMH, but expect it will be rammed...

Time to revisit plans again - at least I didn't have too many ADRs...

Oh, and I bet they are doing DAH...

We are not going to Disney this fall, but we do often go in October. With all of the party dates, and not wanting to do MK on a Saturday, we really looked forward to Wednesday's Evening Magic Hours. Yes, it was crowded because of the limited opportunity for the non-party goers to see the nighttime stuff. But, we would spend the day at another park and hop over to MK later. Back in the day, the EMH used to be 3 hours and extend to 2 a.m, and those are among my favorite Disney memories of all time.

If they go away, it's truly a shame. Because of the cost, I honestly do not see us ever doing the paid After Hours event. Maybe when the kids are gone we can justify it. But, then again, having kids (or grand-kids in the future) there with you is the whole purpose of Disney, isn't it? I realize times change, but Evening Magic Hours (the free variety) was one of those things that truly helped me become the Disney fan I am. Morning EMH do nothing for me. They are just an hour, require getting up earlier, and Magic Kingdom just seems to be infinitely more 'magical' at night.

At this point, it's not much more than a rumor and I'm betting it's for the party seasons. Not a great loss in that time frame since it's unbearably crowded on those nights.

Actually, because non-party days are so crowded, it's even a greater impact. If you want to see the nightime stuff, you only have 3 nights a week to choose from during party season. Saturdays are consistently worse than a mid-week EMH, so someone looking for a break would always avoid Saturday. So, now you're down to 2 nights to choose from. Given the choice of 2 mid-week dates, both that will be busy, I would typically choose the one that gave me some extra time, especially time that is too late for a lot of the guests to use, even if they started the day intending to.

And, for those that do not follow Josh at EasyWDW, he's recently done some analysis, and Wednesday has the lowest per average wait time of any day at MK, even with the evening extra magic hours.

So, yes, this is a significant perk lost to a lot of guests that can't afford one of the after hour events that require additional payment.

I noticed the EEMH were gone last weekend, so bummed. We never use morning EMH but always go to the park until closing, no matter what time it closes. I know Disney has a business model, but I hate having to buy another ticket. I hope this is a temporary, but it's probably permanent. We have a tripped planned for October so I might have to modify my plans a little.

That was my point. During party seasons the non party days are jammed packed as are the emh’s. I have more issues with the extended party seasons than anything else. I won’t even go to WDW during those times anymore. The parties are overbooked and the non party days are miserably crowded.

I hate heavy crowds and I’m willing to make sacrifices on other things to avoid them. One character meal almost pays my AP rate for a DAH event. When I factor in included snacks and drinks where we can eat lighter for dinner, it’s not hard to justify. It really is a matter of making choices. Disney isn’t getting more money out of me, I’m just giving what I would have in a different way.

Totally consistent with the continual cutback on hours for guests. I would not be surprised to see this as a permanent change. Expect more paid after hour events and very few normal 8am openings - those will be replaced by morning EMH. The MK hours in particular are very disappointing considering the increase in crowds. The number of days that the park is open late for normal guests feels non-existent compared to what we had years ago.

Without experiencing MK at the end of a 2 a.m. Extra Magic Hour close, Disney may not have ever become 'Disney' for me. I realize I'm just one paying customer, with only 3 additional paying customers in my family. But, you have to wonder at what point all the take away Disney is doing on one hand while the other hand is stuck way out there asking me to give more, will ultimately catch up to them. Will my grandchildren be able to experience the same level of 'magic' that me and my children have experienced over the last 15 years.
