Oct flight prices?

Did anyone book a direct flight Gatwick - Orlando for this Oct as soon as teh prices were realeased?

We are planning going 4th Oct 2012 but having never booked DIY I am very wary of booking accommodation and then getting a big shock at the flight prices.

So if you booked for this Oct what sort of prices did you pay?

We booked for the 5th Oct. flying from Edinburgh via Newark, cost £556 but that was on the fist day we could book, I think they have risen considerably since then.

Hi we just booked our flights today with Aerlingus and we were £1462 for the two of us. Thats less than what we were last year. Still alot but its Edinburgh to Dublin then direct to Orlando. We go the first two weeks of oct this year.

We looked at loads of options and this one time wise etc worked out best for us. We could have got slightly cheaper if we were happy to do more of a multi leg trip but the times of the arrival and departure for these we were not happy with. Also with these flights we are able to pre book the extra leg room seats rather than have to pay more for PE.

We've booked Virgin Man - MCO, £2800 for our family of 5. It was more expensive to fly out on the Sunday so we opted for the Monday. Have you had a quote from Cinders Mum?

Yours is quite cheap, I did get a quote from cinders mum but it was £3250 for the 5 of us, I have emailed back for a quote for the 7 of us. It worked out about £650 pp.
We are flying on a thursday so think its a cheaper day

It might be because we are going at the end of Oct.

That seemed to be true last year when I looked at prices for October. For this year, while waiting for flights to be released, I was checking September dates and they were nominally cheaper than those for October, however as you got further into the month the difference between the prices seemed to increase steadily, making later in October a fair bit more expensive than the earlier part of the month. I haven't been back to look and see what they are at recently though. We are going indirect and not from Gatwick so there is little point giving you our figures for comparison, but before I booked I explored all options, including Gatwick and the general trend seems to be higher prices the later you go into October as the schools are out.

I though the further you went into Oct would be dearer but joolz is going at the end of the month, while I'm planning the 4th and its my flights that are dearer,
