Well, it's not 100% but it's enough for me to feel okay with at this point. Just to recap, we booked this at our 11 month window with our DVC points, along with a stay before the scheduled cruise at BWV with a Boardwalk view guarantee room.
We are now booked on the 4-day cruise on the 24th for no extra points. We are in the same category cabins (a 6 and an 11) and on the same deck and they're giving us $100 stateroom credit for each room. Basically, we're getting a 4-day for the point cost of a 3-day. So far, so good.
Since this now puts us staying at WDW after the cruise, it's over a weekend, when the points are higher for DVC. Since DVC and
DCL are separate entities, they can not give us the rooms for the same points we would have paid for our weekdays. They also can not guarantee us the Boardwalk view we acquired by booking at the 11 month window. They can give us priority waitlist status, which means if anyone cancels or moves, we're the first ones to take that spot. It still sucks, though, that now, because of DCL, we have to spend more points for what we were already going to do. They did have availability at VWL or OKW, but we're going primarily for the food and wine fest at Epcot, so the BWV location is really key here. For now we're booked preferred view BWV with priority waitlist status for the guaranteed Boardwalk view. We'll just keep our fingers crossed that it comes through.
To bottom-line it, we're getting a four day cruise for the same points as the three day, $100 stateroom credit for both cabins and priority waitlist status on our BWV reservation move. That's it. I'm not 100% happy with it, but I can live with it... at least for now.
