Oct 8 waitlist....is this odd?

I called at the 7 month window and was able to get a 1 bdrm BCV for all but the first night of our Oct 8 - 16 trip, so they wait listed us for just that one night.
But we're 60 days out now - I know it's Columbus Day weekend, but don't you think it's a little odd that NOTHING has come through for that night? We must have been somewhere near the top of the waitlist - having called in first thing on the morning of the 7 month window...
Anyone have experience with this? Do they usually open up later on - when families decided for sure whether or not they are going?
It won't be the end of the world if we have to enjoy one day at Kidani - but I'd prefer not to change rooms if we can avoid it...

I hope you get it, but there may have been owners at BCV on a waitlist before you.

BCV is very popular during the Food & Wine Festival, it's not surprising. The entire fall is very popular with DVC members, the last 3 months of the year are usually pretty full.

I was waitlisted for that time frame a couple of years ago for AKV and it never came through - I would think BCV is even harder to get. I have been on a waitlist for 2 BR at BCV for 3 months for Sept 2-5 with no luck - I know I got on it late so really didn't expect it to come through but was hoping that at the 31 day mark it might happen. Have a room at OKW which is my favorite anyway so we are set anyway, Just that DD would really like to stay at BCV - of course if she had decided on this trip earlier we would have been able to book in the 11 month window and she decided that the second week of Dec wouldn't work because they might not be able to use the pools that much. Maybe next time a decision will be made sooner. You may still have luck at around the 31 day point.

Just curious-- How hard is it to get BWV at the 7 month mark at the end of June?

I don't think June is an super-peak time (like F&W, Christmas, Easter..), so you should be OK getting a BWV preferred room at the exact 7+7 window.
The much smaller BW view and standard view categories are usually very difficult at 7 months.

I don't know how much of an impact it would be but that's also Thanksgiving for us so you may have DVC members taking advantage of a short work week from here as well.
