Hi Guys,

I'm a frequent stalker of the Disneyland boards and have DIsneyland planning down to a fine art now. But this year I've decided to shake things up and head to Disney World with my sister (26 y/o) for a change :yay:

At the moment it looks like we will be there Monday 6th to Sunday 12th of October. Now I'm an Aussie so please forgive my ignorance but are there any holidays during this time or anything going on that I should know about.

We just realised that the MNSSHP will be on but is there anything else that may affect our planning??

Thanks in advance for any help.

(We will probably be back asking about hotels on the other forum soon )

The Tower of Terror race is the weekend before you plan to go, so there might be some slight carryover of crowds. There is also Columbus Day on the 13th, so that might affect things somewhat as well.

October 6-9 is the Gartner Symposium, an extremely large conference that takes up all of the Epcot area hotel conference centers and hotels. Attendees spill to other hotels as well. Impacts room availability, but should not impact the parks during the day.

Columbus Day week/weekend was extremely more crowded than usual this year. it is the 13th.

Food & Wine is on at World Showcase, three concert shows every evening and crazy drunken crowds all day Sat, not that there's anything wrong with that. We just avoid WS on Sat and we hit WS daily and graze around the world, little need for any ADRs.

Fall break for some school districts. We will be there during that week for fall break.

We were there during this week last year. It was definitely more crowded than I have felt like it was before during this same time. Many schools are getting a fall break now (I knew so many people there during our week last year).

I was going to post almost the exact thing. We've went that week for the last two years and it seems like a very busy week. Almost as busy as our late May/early June trips. I also think it has to do with more schools getting fall break. That's why we were there that specific week, DS was on fall break.
