Hello everybody!!
We are joining your group! It is me, my husband and our girls (23,14 & will be 13). We had to some switching after booking Norway for next June This is our first holiday type cruise and first on the Wonder. We've done the Dream and Magic & are working on that Grand Slam!!
We are planning to do WDW the weekend before and after the cruise. We are DVC so it's cheaper that way, in a way. We booked this cruise because who can resist the double dip ( now just to tell the teachers when the time comes...:/).
My husband and I ran the TOT 10 miler last year and we all did the 5K. Not sure if we'll do either again this year. We may do the CC 5K again, but it is SO hot and humid!!
So I'm going to check out FB since Disboards confuses me. This is my second time writing this. Who knows where the other one is:/.
We would love to do FE and learn about the CE. We are from NE Ohio, east of Cleveland. Seems to be a popular city on this thread .
I think that's all....sounds like a good time is ready to be had by all!! Yay! Can't wait!

Welcome, and this is my report on the CE from this past July!

I did not get to meet as many Disboarders as I had hoped. I only met math geek to say "Hi!" I hope we connect again, soon.


The candy exchange was a success for us, and I hope the others enjoyed it as well.

For those who weren't necessarily familiar with it, we had 5 participants...

Cincinnati...French Chew ... We live north of Cincinnati and had not known of the delicious treats!

California...Astro Pops! Designed by space scientists....brought back to the shelves a couple of years ago! I remember these from the '70s and enjoyed the long lasting pop!

Hershey PA area...2 families, and what a great goodie bag of Hershey brand treats!! Macadamia nut filled kisses were my personal favor!

Cape May NJ...Franlingers salt water taffy. This is one company that claims to be the first to produce the "salt water" version. Our second home, my heart's home, is in Cape May...where my mom, 93 still lives, so I usually contribute from there when I participate in candy exchanges!


We got som "extras". Including Mickey Snack Sized candies. Perhaps these were part of the general FE! Thank you, we enjoyed these too!

I'll be running the ToT 10 miler and hoping they have the castaway cay 5k on both days so I can run it twice!

We will probably do the CC 5K again one of the days, but not the 10 miler. Honestly last year it just wiped me out!! I don't know if it was because we did the 5K in the morning with the kids too, I'm not really a night person anymore, it was too hot and humid, I didn't get a nap because the pool party started outside our room just as I started to nap, or all of the above. But I think I'm one and done there! I'll stick to morning races. We have the Princess Half Weekend room already booked .

Wanted to post here that jik u missed the blood moon eclipse last night (too cloudy here - wah) we will have another chance while on the cruise - October 8th. Should make for some amazing pictures.

We are switching to this sailing from the 9/26 double dip- I wasn't thinking about triathlon season when we booked and the kids would miss their last race of the season. It will be myself, husband Jake, daughter Lauren (eight), son Lane (six). We are planning to do at least one day at the parks before/after the cruise. I would like to join the FB page and FE. Is anyone on this cruise doing any excursions in Nassau? Any recommendations?
We primarily booked this cruise for 2 stops @ CC so I am not really interested in a beach day. Our family of 4 (w/ 2 Dkids pre-teen & teen) is adventurous and walking/hiking isn't a problem. We have done Singray City in Gr Cayman & hiked up the Mayan ruins on a previous cruise so we are up for adventure!
The flip side to this is that I have really considered jumping off the ship for a bit of the straw market experience but really enjoying the boat on the port day.
I would love to hear what previous Bahaman cruisers have to share.

Are you on Facebook? We have a Facebook group that is very lively and we talk all the time about everything. We are getting FE groups together. You would be able to join group 3! I think you just post in this thread that you want to be in the candy exchange!

Hi Everyone! We just moved our rebooking to this cruise! We love CC and so excited for another double dip! Does anyone know if we get to be on CC at night since it's two days in a row or if we have to be back on ship by a certain time?

From what I've read we do have to be back on the ship at a certain time as the ship goes out to see over night and re-docks at CC in the morning of the 2nd day at CC.

Hello All! Just back off the Fantasy with 2 kiddos. Have to say even my kiddos did not appreciate that many kids in one place!

So it is back to the classic ships. Time to try the Wonder! We've only been on the Magic so far. We are switching from a 5 day doubledip to this 4 day Doubledip which works better for our work schedule.


No kids this time just my Hubby and I celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary

Can't help it, we want to do the FE or at least the CE! Looking forward to it.

Information about Candy Exchange:

We use Fish Extenders to deliver our gifts.

You pick a candy from your general area, or region, or even ones you would like to share. Two examples...Life Savers were invented in Cleveland, salt water taffy is considered to be invented in NJ. If you wish, and many do, print something out about your candy choice.

I will keep the number around 10 cabins and if there are 2 groups and you want to join both, tell me.

In July, I will ask for cabin numbers and the number of people in each cabin. September 1 is the deadline for sign ups!
