How were the prices for excursions compared to other crusies you have done?

We found Carnival to cost more than DCL, just curious about the Jewel?

Did you notice if they had sugar free desserts? If so, were there a few to choose from or just one or two?

we had sun today but now the rain has started up again.
Looks like we have a club meeting here today. I saw a welcome sign for them on an RV here so it will get very busy here tonight.
The only thing I dont like about clubs is they fill up the trash bins days before they pick it up. GRRR!!!

Hi Kathy, I updated my review to include our ports.

We did all of our own excursions except for the Panama Canal and the only reason we booked that one through the ship was because RCCL chartered the boat so we had no choice. It was also our most expensive at $189pp. All our other excursions were less then $40pp with the exception of scuba diving in Grand Cayman which was $90pp. We like doing our own private excursions because they tend to be more personalized, less crowded and usually cheaper then ship prices.

I was rather surprised at how many "sugar free" items they had for dessert and they were more then happy to arrange any dietary needs. My father-in-law can't have glutton and they made sure all his meals were glutton free including the bread!

Happy Thursday everyone,

well its another dreary cloudy rainy morning in Oregon. But they are still saying a nice weekend so we shall see.
I think Greg & Peter will go riding the quads on sunday on the sand dunes at the coast. I will stay home with the pups because its not a good place for dogs with all the quads zipping around. If we were camping there it would be different but for a day trip I will stay here.

Saturday I hope to visit my mom again. Both my brothers have colds so they cant visit with her right now, so I need to go at least once a week so she still has company. I love the visits but with gas prices nearing $3 a gallon I wish we were closer to her.

Greg I will go back to your report and read about the excursions today.
I was too busy yesterday.


How about that Volcano in Iceland blowing off. It must have been a good size blast to have all flights grounded in Europe. I cant imagine Heathrow closed down, what a BIG mess that will be when they get up and running again to get everyone back on planes, plus all over seas flights from the U.S. are grounded too.

I remember watching St Helens go off both times from our house. Everything was covered with ash and it looked like it was snowing black snow and got black as night in just a few minutes. The ash can cut you like glass too. You have to hose it all off carefully or it will scratch up your cars paint jobs. What a mess that was, so I can imagine anyone thats in the direct fall out of this big eruption will have a huge mess to get rid of.

Luckily Iceland doesnt have a large population.

I was all excited last night cause I got two cruise info pack from Disney but when I opened them it was more about the cruise in general and not specific to the Dream. I was shocked they sent it so early.

Disney just announced (within a week or so) a 2-night to no where cruise on the Wonder out of LA in Jan. I might have to do it.

It would have to be an awefully good buy to fill that up. The average person wouldnt do a 2 day cruise to no where


It turned out to be a nice afternoon and I still have the windows and door open. Greg is browsing the drivers manual to get his license changed tomorrow to Oregon. Next it will be my turn. I hate tests. Most states just let you turn in your old license and give you a new one, not Oregon. You have to take the written test all over again.

We're going to spend the weekend at our condo in Park City, so the board will be semi-silent again for a few days.

The kids are dying to play on the water slides and the weather is finally in the 70's, so we're going to enjoy it.

The Wonder gets in from the repo cruise a little early so they are doing to 2 night cruise instead of having the ship just sit there. I was able to hold a cat 11 (sideways cabin) for $458 for the both of us. We usually spend more than that in DL for one day. Plus I am hoping it will get me my gold status and I will rebook the 3 night part of the dream to get the 10% off and the shipboard credit, so really it will be like free

Its Friday but I have to work tomorrow.........but it's only 3 hrs. but just having to go in for those 3 hours really puts a kink into your saturday.....but I'm on my final count down for my vacation to colorado.....
8 days and counting...

When Wally gets home going to cut the lawn....I cant belive in 1 week how much it has grown. I actually was able to get some cleaning done this afternoon, I got off work at noon today, then stopped and did a little shopping on my way home...then cleaned up around here now going to do the lawn...going out for dinner then I'm gonna plant my butt and watch tv the rest of the evening

Hi Denise, I just sat and watched TV last night too.

Today it is 70 here. Going to rain again by monday though. But for now its great.

I went to visit my mom today. It was a pretty good visit all things considered.

Greg gave the dogs a bath while I was gone and he and Peter are getting ready to go ride the quads tomorrow for the first time this season.

gosh its quiet here this weekend. I hate seeing us on page 2, almost page 3

Suppose to still have one more nice day today, around 70 then rain is back tomorrow. I wish the sun would stay a bit longer.

Today Greg and Peter are checking out a new place to ride our quads. I am sure they will have a good time riding. This is the first time Peter has got to take his quad out riding since he bought it a few months ago.

Afternoon all:

Beautiful sunny day....a little cool and breezy....but at least the sun is out. Took my sunday morning trek to chicago to visit my dad.....Today is his 95th Birthday.......so we went to breakfast, then I took him grocery shopping...when I get back from Colorado my sisters and me are taking him out to dinner....

Have a roast in the crock pot....getting laundry done and then some ironing so I can start packing this week....have the house to clean, my son is coming over and staying here to watch Jack for 4 days while we are gone.

Other than that not much else is going on....just going to pray it will be a nice quiet work week
