Please take Gramto3 and Jeninpa off your roster. We won't be cruising this year. The reality of both my husband and myself being retired is hitting hard. Simply can't afford to pay for three of us this time around.:sad2:

So sorry to hear that, and that we won't get to meet you. Hopefully you will be able to get everything straight and be able to book something else very soon :goodvibes

I was the FE co-ordinator for our last cruise. We made arrangements for a meet by the mickey pool, and thus those that had room changes were to notify me there. I arranged to hand out my FE's First that evening, so that I could at the same time, deliver with the FE's, an updated room list. Now that was easy to do because we were a small group of about 10 or so cabins. I do like the idea of the dry erase board, but also assume I can give our update if need be during our meet at the promenade lounge? We are GTY and have yet to be assigned a stateroom. :)

I love the idea of a dry erase board for any changes!! I would be happy to post one on my door.

As for other updates, I was planning on handing out copies of the FE List at the meet the afternoon we board, that way if anyone forgot their list or any changes needed to be made we could do it there.

If you have any other suggestions please feel free to share!

That is so strange. Do you think they changed this policy when they put into place the Castaway Club levels? Because when she booked us for Palo's with our linked reservations, it was before the new levels were established. At that point, she was a Castaway Club member, while we we first time cruisers. So she could book at 90 days and we could book at 75. I believe the only people who could book before her were concierge guests and those who bought the now unavailable REAS package.

When she pulled up her reservation and began the Palo booking, it showed all the adults available in our linked reservations that she could select to dine with her. I gather that isn't the case anymore?

It is possibly that is what happened.....but I will wait until the 75 day mark for the others and then see what happens. I told them the day and time I have booked so we will see if they can be added to our ressie then.

Or, it just occurred to me, that possibly because everyone else is booked with a TA and I am booked directly with DCL that it happened? My ressie says I am linked to the others but their names do not come up when I pull up my ressie.

Oh and Little Tim is having his moments of trying to cope with his oldest brother leaving home too. He has broken down and cried about it. I haven't done that yet. That'll probably happen the day we leave him in Thunder Bay!
Sorry for the story there, just needed to get some off my chest! :goodvibes

Please don't make me cry at work

On the upside, our FE is done and I really like how it turned out. it's very *non-traditional* but it suits me and my parents and I guess that's really all that counts. It's actually the second "base" of the FE - the first one my mom crochet was 1 large blue pocket but she decided she didn't like it as much so she crochet a second one with 1 pocket for each of us (and wanted a netrual colour - she thought the blue was too dark to represent water).

I love how different this is!! It prompted me to link the FEs for this cruise Post #1! Anyone wanting to link theirs too, please post them here! (and if it isn't up shortly after that - please pm me!):surfweb:

A co-worker just told me that Disney extended Free Dining through the end of December . . . anyone have any info on this? :surfweb:

Just checked into this. Free dining is being extended through Dec 21st, but there are many blackout dates. Free dining is available from Oct 22nd - October 28th and then skips to Nov 12th - 18th so it doesn't really apply to those of us on this cruise. There are more dates in Nov and Dec, but I didn't bother listing them since they are after the cruise.

Update: Just go an email from my TA which includes the valid dates:

Aug 15 - Oct 7
Oct 22 - Oct 28
Nov 12 - Nov 18
Nov 27 - Dec 2
Dec 10 - Dec 21

Trisha, what a very innoventive way of making an FE! VERY VERY NICE!!

I'm starting to panic a little about cash for the cruise (it's all paid off, so now it's just the cash to get there and back on and spending money) as the reality of my son heading off to college is setting in! We're renting a car for the labour day weekend in September to drive him 20 hours away to Confed in Thunder Bay. Tuition fees are covered and some of his residence fees, but then there's the meal plan, the deposits needed now and he likely won't have a job once there, so I'll need to fill his account monthly.......... Perhaps he won't need as much as I'm worrying about now, perhaps his OSAP (student loan) will cover everything, and it's just my realizing my boy is leaving home, that is shaking my nerves. SOOOOO much changes over the next few months...... it's just really starting to hit me! He got his Drivers licence last week, and already that bit of independance is showing itself fully. Every day we hear "Can I use the car to go.........." Today it was to go to Wallmart, and then while there he called to ask if he can take his little brother to a movie tonight. Oh and Little Tim is having his moments of trying to cope with his oldest brother leaving home too. He has broken down and cried about it. I haven't done that yet. That'll probably happen the day we leave him in Thunder Bay!

It's going to be rough. I don't blame you for talking about it. I'm glad you have the cruise coming up to help distract a little bit. Did they go to see Toy Story 3?

They went to see The new Shrek movie. Tim says it was GREAT! I took all 3 of my boys to see Toy Story 3, a few weeks ago. Yes, the cruise is a good distraction! We've been having weather here yesterday and today that is making me think of the caribbean a bit, though I'm sure the caribbean is NOT this humid! You must be having this in NJ too, as on our news map, it shows the heat wave across southern Ontario and the Northern US. I hear a LOT of people in Toronto lost power yesterday as the system was overloaded. Home in a few areas of Ottawa also lost power, but we haven't (thank goodness).
Waiting for my paycheck on the 8th, so I can pay off my Credit cards (clean and clear), that will be a good feeling too! Then I can get DH some new Shorts that he says he needs. I think my boys are ok for clothes for the cruise, I am now!
Getting DS17 to clean his room, is a piece of cake ever since he got his G2 licence last week. He can use the car as long as his room is clean! Nothing has EVER motivated him as much as this has! :)

**FE UPDATE**

So getting his license does have some perks!! We missed Shrek, I wanted to take them this weekend and it's not playing around here anymore. I really wanted to see it. It was 103 degrees in NJ yesterday and very humid!!! I hope it's a little better today.

Thats about 39 Celcius (we're metric) and we hit between 36 and that yesterday, but with the humidex, today they are calling for it to hit up into the low 40's (so about 104 F) UGGGHHHHH! Turn's out, many homes beyond our main block here, did lose power a few times yesterday, and it always seems to happen right around dinner time, like the time during which people are MAKING dinner :scared1: We though, still have not lost power, hmmmmm good for us though.

I have my kids and my daycare kids in swimming lessons at our local outdoor pool. Great for those IN the water, but this weather has not been that great for those of us NOT in the water. Yesterday I went prepared though. We took a big quilt and layed it out under the shade of a big tree, that gave us a good view of the pool area (a fence surrounds the pool). We took bottled ice (which as planned melted a bit for water to drink), grapes and apples, a few board games, some educational work books, a box of junior Kinex and a box of blocks. The kids had more fun on that quilt than in the park right beside us!
The first child in lessons, starts at 9:30 a.m. and the last 2 go in at 11:30. So it's a long morning over there, we get there around 9:15 and leave at 12:15. Yesterday, with more things to do, the morning went by faster. And because we all weren't running around in the park, or me chasing after little ones, we didn't get affected by the heat so soon. By the time the morning is over though, I'm ready to get back into an air conditioned home!

The kids actually want to try an experiment. To see if they can actually cook an egg on the hot pavement! Unfortunately, at the moment, I'm all fresh out of eggs :)

Both of my kids are in camp this summer. One gets home at 3:30 and the other around 5:00. My DH is here by then and cannot believe that they are still asking to play outside, given that it is over 100 degrees here, when they have been running around and swimming all day! We had hoped camp would tire them out....so far, no such luck!

May be that you had the charge for fuel and when you paid it off that charge was not being charge. That would give you a credit. Here is just a little extra pixie dust to help you along.

Well, the car came back from the repair shop. To make a long story short, what I thought was going to be a huge car repair about $1200 turned into about $70 and a dinner at a expensive restaurant. So about 1/10th the price total.

Well not really bad news....

We've decided not to "do WDW" before the cruise. I'm concerned that after 6 days at WDW, we'll be too exhausted to truly enjoy the cruise. And of course, after a week of eating out I'm concerned we'll be "fooded" out (and I really don't want that!), and of course, being around all of those snotty, sneezing, barfy, sicky kids (:rotfl2:just kidding - I love em all - really :rotfl2:), the chances of catching something before the cruise goes up exponentially. And with the refurb in Fantasyland and Star Tours being refurbed (it was one of the only "thrill" rides I did - and I loved it), WDW is just seemingly like too much in addition to the week long cruise.

There is a part of me that is sad and a part of me that is glad and a part of me that is ambivilent about cancelling - I think what hurts the most is cancelling the Poly Concierge that was booked at 40% off :headache: - I'm hoping that I'll get that deal again somewhere down the line.

On the upside, our FE is done and I really like how it turned out. it's very *non-traditional* but it suits me and my parents and I guess that's really all that counts. I need to get back to my FE gifts at some point. I have a good start but put away the materials and now I am having trouble motivating myself to pick them back up (which I knew was going to happen :rolleyes1).

But I'm going to do it - soon - if I just keep telling myself that it might actually happen .

We're renting a car for the labour day weekend in September to drive him 20 hours away to Confed in Thunder Bay.

We keep going back and forth on whether we are going to cancel the trip before the cruise. I know that we will probably not be going to go to DHS. Instead, do another day at the Magic Kingdom. Not to mention, if we still aren't sure about MnSsHp. We want to go, but right when things were going right for us we had another rug yanked out from under us. My wife had a trip to the ER last Sunday. She is still hurting, but we won't know the extent of everything till next week after a couple doctor appointments.

After having a couple months of crazy overtime I'm back to working out and eating correctly. With only 109 days left for us till we leave, I have a pretty ambitious goal. I need to be 30lbs lighter to ride the rides, and another 23 to be where I can live with myself on the trip. This is what happens when you live by my favorite quote:

Prognosticators Unite: Tomorrow! :rotfl2:

Prognosticators Unite: Tomorrow! :rotfl2:

Do you mean "Procrastinators Unite: Tomorrow!" ? 'Cause if you do, my husband has that on a t-shirt. It's one of his favorite sayings as well! :)

I think "Prognosticators" predict the future.... which would also be cool, especially if you could tell me what cabin DCL was going to give us! :thumbsup2

I did. You gotta love programs that correct your spelling.

Don't know if this has been menitoned, but yes, Tar balls have been washing up in Cocoa Beach for a few days now. :sad2:
