Just got out of the dentist......

LUCKY YOU DISNEY MUSIC......

I was stuck watching Martha Stewart

...my experience while at the Dentist's office. While he was working on my mouth, he had to place a big ol black "thing" on the right hand side of my mouth (to prop open my mouth). So, I could barely talk, breathe or even swallow my spit and I knew that those awul sounds from his dentists "utensils" will make their appearance shortly.

I had to develop a plan and fast! :scared1:

So, while he was working......I heard that awful drilling sound that we all love to hate. So, to combat that I pulled a little funny on him.
Short while later, he stopped ....looked at me and said,
"Are you in pain? Are you crying?"

I replied, "NO....I am singing to the Disney music!":lmao:

Talk about a You Tube moment!popcorn::

Congrats on 5000. I'm not far behind you.

As to servers. I think our opinion of servers is much like that of food. It all depends what you expect. The youngest our kids were when we sailed Disney, was in their teens, so I didn't experience (and did t expect to) the behavior of your Putu. However, on our six cruises, we have had wonderful servers and we've sat at tables varying from an 8-top to a table of four. The two best memories I have is first, our cruise in 2001. Our server was Zoltan from Hungary and he was wonderful. Two years later, we were with kids in 2003 and saw Zoltan working the tables next to us. We went over to say hello an as we approached he recognized us and gave us a warm greeting. As it turned out, we had his wife as our server. I have a picture of the two of them and our assistant server with the five of us. They've since left DCL and I believe are running a business back home.

The second time was our cruise last year. We were at a table of four and our server treated us like family. My wife loved the little crumb scraper she used to clean the table cloth and on the last day, she surprised my wife with a present of one.

Personally, I don't expect much more from my servers than to keep my drink glass full and be friendly. Anything on top of that, like Putu's interaction with your kids is gravy in my book. I have heard horror stories of truly awful servers, but thankfully, they seem to be far and few between.

I agree with ya - as I also come from the school of thought that the waitstaff is there to serve you food and drink....not be part of the people sitting at the table nor be boring as heck. But about fellow DISsers opinions about waitstaff and what not:
Just an idea here everyone.......if any of you wanna change tables and sit with others (like your DISmeets buddies) just let your server know and the change will take place in time for the next night.

oh no Dh doesnt do hockey

only football

enjoy

Ok....you have now given me the motivation to bring my Tony Romo Dallas Cowboy shirt on the cruise :yay:.

I am sure DH will have at least one redskins lounge around shirt with him.

Unfortunately we don't get the channel that one is playing on tonight. Let me know, if you see it before I hear it, how Mike Fisher plays tonight. I'm off to see NEW MOON tonight!! This is the only thing (well this plus booking another cruise) that made getting off the ship two weeks ago, not as hard a thing to do!

The Senators rocked and killed the Penguins! :sad2: I'm sorry but I didn't pay attention to Mike Fisher. I probably couldn't see him through my tears! Next time I will specifically watch for him. Enjoy the game Monday and I'll root for the Senators for ya!
Today I'm gonna watch the Steelers (hopefully) beat the Chiefs. :happytv:I don't think Troy P. is playing so we will be at a disadvantage again.

For those that hosted DCL House Parties, how did yours go? My turnout was small. I still have lots of stuff left over so I'm packing it up for my DH to take to his school and he can pass it out to his co-teachers and students and continue spreading the word and the advertising!

If I don't get back to the boards this week, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and for those braving the crowds on Black Friday - stay safe, don't get crushed and I hope you get great bargains!:dance3:

And I never travel far without my Willie Parker jersey................
Judy

Hope you all are having a fun weekend! Only two more nights of work before I am off for nearly a week..THANK GOD. I haven't had much time off since June so I am ready!!

Busy with the usual Sunday stuff around here plus making the huge Turkey Day grocery list, our water heater went out so we are replacing that today (cold showers suck, even in Florida!!!):scared:. Savannah had her winter dance recital last night and misplaced her entire costume (aaargh)..my sinuses are acting up...so basically business as usual in these parts! :rotfl:

TTFN! :) Jen

CHeerComp all day to day. Uuuggghhhh
Not the greatest day off .......... 7 hours of watching cheerleading, loud cheering, loud music, MC i couldnt understand(loud and muffled)

But our girls did good took 1st this time in both categories which is awesome and they got the SPIRIT AWARD!!!

THankfully i get 3 days off next week.....have to work all day on Thanksgiving day but :confused3worth it to have 3 days off.

Yeah! We were just given 4 tickets to the Sens vs Washington game on Monday night! Anyone here a Washington Fan?

Lexandme, how did the game turn out the other night?

New York Rangers all the way. I bleed Ranger blue.

But yeah it is because it's new. We priced out the fall cruises and they are in a more reasonable range (i.e. less than Disney...LOL) :rotfl2:
What an amazing boat though. They did broadcast segments from it on GMA today. I haven't seen it all yet but what I did see was pretty impressive.

I taped all of GMA and we watched it Friday night. The segment with Sam and Melissa trying to surf in the wave pool were hysterical. The ship does look cool, but quite honestly, I don't know if I'd enjoy a ship that big. But I do love the idea of the neighborhoods.

Can't wait to hear about the QM2! Exciting!:)

I typed up a huge post yesterday about servers but I lost it b/c my computer locked up on me. Somehow I never made it back to repost it. But suffice to say on two cruises (one Magic, one Wonder) we had wonderful service. On one cruise (Wonder) we had not so great service. Our server was OK but nothing to write home about. Our assistant was pretty abysmal- no refills and he dissappeared halfway through the cruise. His replacement was good though we only had her one night. Our AS last cruise did tell us that servers and assistants usually start out on the Wonder so service there is more likely to be less polished than on the Magic.

I see we have some cruises coming up, what does everyone else have planned for Turkey Day? My family is doing something different, we are heading over to an "upscale" RV resort in Kissimmee. Gonna do the whole fried turkey down home southern thing. Should be ..interesting.

Okay, the city boy in me has to ask - what defines an "upscale" RV? Does it have a three car garage and an indoor swimming pool? :lmao:

Ok....you have now given me the motivation to bring my Tony Romo Dallas Cowboy shirt on the cruise :yay:.

Another Cowboys fan :cool1: They sure pulled one out yesterday.

Bad news....due to a schedule conflict...we are no longer going on the Oct. 30 cruise. We are now going Oct. 16. and was able to upgrade to a cabin with a window!!!

congrats for the upgrade......

Say hi to those over at Oct 16th cruise from me!!!!!!:thumbsup2

LMAO! Pretty much!:rotfl2: I don't know too much about RV's but it is pretty nice. It has a flat screen TV that comes out of this compartment on the outside so you can pop up the awning pull up a chair and watch some football. I plan on doing just that! :thumbsup2

Sorry to see you go! Have a great time!

(It's like a revolving door between that cruise and this one, isn't it...someone's always coming or going!)

Sorry to hear you won't be joining us, but at least you get to warm up the ship for us. Just don't wear down the crew too much.
