Melissa

Oh thank you both.....

We did have a fun time at MNSSHP......

And after looking at all the pics..........We did have a good week...it is just stressfulbeingin charge of everyone else having fun and feeling like if you dont it is your fault.

I hope i dont ever get in that predicament again!!!!

I think i need to make DH a tie for the cruise to go with his shirt, not sure which kind

Along tie or a bow tie or more of an ascott?????

Oh the decisions.

Any one made any decisions about what they are doing in KEY WEST.

I am thinking of just renting an electric car (not from Disney) and seeing some sights taking some pics and going back to the ship and then maybe an hour before we sail away going back out to see what is happening at Malory Square. Since it is the FANTASY FESTIVAL.

THe Electric cars are for 4 and through Disney they are $179it seems to me they have changed the information sicne i started looking iam alomst 100% sure it used to b that some ticketsto severalattractions ere included in the price and now it says you pay your way into the attractions so i dont think it is the best deal out there.

You can get an electric car for 2 hours for $80 through another company, and i think that is all we will need. We want toride around see what si goin on...gothe southern most point OFCOURSE......get a pic
Sloppy joes ..... get a pic and that is about it.
and get some KEY LIMEPIE

Maybe we will get 4 variations and share them!!!!!
HECK maybe 8 if they have that many!!!!!!

Yeah I don't think we have a volunteer yet. We could do the Dis-O-Treat as a committee-if anyone is interested in doing it that way with several volunteers kind of "running" it together....?

My opinion in it is that I really like the way your group did it on your last Halloween Cruise. More like a scavenger hunt with small prizes along the way, and you guys handed out the big bag of candy at the end, right? I am thinking this would work well for us. Have several spots along the ship start here..then go here and get a clue and say one piece of candy, etc. then next stop same and when they find their way to the end they will get one of those treat bags full. How does that sound?

I am totally in with helping plan and implement this. Not sure if I will have the time to run it all by myself, though. So if we go the committee way then put me on the board. Of course we will help supply candy too since we are within driving distance and don't have to fly it all down. :)

Yeah that is awesome the first thing I thought when I saw those is that we'd better see them again onboard! I kindof like a black bowtie with blue mickeys if he is inclined to wear it...:thumbsup2

Thge electric car thing sounds like fun! For sure it's cheaper to go directly! There will be plenty to see that weekend I'm betting!

Our plans are Blue Heaven for breakfast, take the conch train (must do for us LOL), Southernmost Point (don't really want to walk there so I hope the conch stops there long enough to get pics), eat lunch at M-Ville (another must do), shoes at Kinos, Chocolate-Dipped Key Lime Pie on a stick, Drinks at Cap'n Tonys and Sloppy's, see the Fantasy Fest kids & craft offerings, Snack at B.O. Fishwagon, the shell store at MS, of course sunset festivities. I am thinking we will check out the sunset area and then go back to our verandah for the actual sunset, but not too sure yet, we may decide to stay down in the Square but the view will be better from onboard for sure!!! All of the above not necessarily in that order!

In Key West I want to do the art tour! That is the only excursion I have really picked out and have my heart set on - it sounds so fun! The electric car sounds fun too but I am really interested in seeing the artists in action! :cool1:

WOW that sounds like a lot! I have no idea where/what anything is so I think we will be just doing the planned excursion and maybe some random wandering around!

Yeah it does sound like a lot!! Especially the eating part, I don't know how we will fit all that food in (3 restaurants when we have free food on the boat...!?!?! What are we thinking??:rotfl:) but we have spent a lot of time in Key West over the years and have quite a few must-do's. The challenge this time is packing it all into one day.

I was going to put together a small guide to Key West on my other cruise, no reason to not do that here! Just a little compilation in word or PDF with maps and info on places so if anyone is interested I can throw that together.:goodvibes

In fact one other thing we haven't discussed is a Dis Navigator. I have read about them on other cruises but I've never personally been involved in a cruise that has done it. I think the idea is great. It is basically a Navigator made just for us with Dis Meet Info, the ToT info could be in there, Group Picture..that sort of thing. FE info could be included or not, depending on how Leslie wants to handle it (The FE info could be like an insert to be added to the Navigator for those participating). There is a lot of info and it would be great to have it all in one place. Like the kind of stuff put in the spreadsheets would be there too, port times, dining rotations and themes, shows, deck parties, all that good stuff! It can be made electronically and then distributed so we each can print our own. Thoughts everyone?

Hey everyone as you can see I have updated my sig with a banner link to the Facebook group. If you are new and want to sign up, click on the logo and that will take you to the page where you can join. If you are already a member of the group you can just click it to go visit our page! We've had some pictures added which is great! :goodvibes

Oooh I would def be interested in that!! I know I want to do the tour and maybe see Hemmingway's house and the southernmost point and get some key lime pie! I think there is a Margaritaville that DH might want to stop by too

Well any whooo........

Iknow that my kids are not going to be doing the TOT as i they think they are tooo old........

But i have bought lots of goodies

And amwilling to help on any committee, i am willing to do alot of things for it as long as i can have some help once we board.

And as long as we have the kids signed up for.

SO REALLY i think we should do that first and make sure it is of interest to enough people to warrant even doing it.

BUT.........the reason i was asking..........is i was going shopping and looking at clearance Halloween.......

Now i am back and i have purchased 300 of the smaller sized goodie bags they were 90% off which made them total all of only about $2.

so so you thinkthat is enough to give out some during the scavenger hunt and then at the end.......or should i go purchasemore while they are still available at .14 a pop??

WOW!~

I just counted 91kids under the age of 16 and not too many of those are over 13 so .............maybe i will go and get another 300 bagsmaybe even 600 casue they are not that big

Yeah i will do that tongiht on they way to cheer with DD.

There sure is Margaritaville- The original one! :goodvibes I'd be happy to start compiling info. If anyone wants any place in particular listed on the KW info packet just let me know and I'll inlude it! :thumbsup2

Yeah I think that is a good idea. Of course I'm happy to help. We'll need volunteers for
  • Planning- compiling the list of participants, mapping the route, creating clues and the sticker, etc.
  • Staffing- working one of the Scavenger hunt areas during the ToT. I guess one or maybe 2 adults per stop, maybe 4 or 5 stops around the boat with one Grand Finale?
  • Candy/Treats- by providing the candy/tokens/treats or contributing towards the purchase of these items.

I know I will happily volunteer for Planning and Candy, don't know yet about Staffing since I may want (or need:laughing:) to help go around with the kids.

See this is fun already! :rotfl2:

I know many of you think it is EARLY to plan for NEXT YEARS HALLOWEEN...MY GOOD NESS it isnt even CHRISTMAS YET.........(okay christmas is over trees are down!!!)

I am willing to stuff the bags of candy to give out...I would like to do this at home before the cruise as i really dont want to do it on the cruise again. our first cruise I stuffed bags in my room and it was no FUN!
But this would mean every one would have to send a determined amount of money to me for the candy per child attending instead of you having to bring the candy and us stuff the bags on the cruise.

When we did this before each family brought a couple bags of candy...I think we had an over abundance..so i am thinking $2-$3 per child...
Do you guys think that is too much or not enough???

I have purchased many items at Party City I have all the bags for the candy and i have extra goodies for at the END.

1/8/10...As of right now i am leaning towards doing a treasure hunt with maps, each room or child would get a map there will be about 4 stops and each room would be starting at a different stop as to keep a good rotation and then everyone end up at STOP 4 together where they will FIND THE TREASURE...Which will be a larger bag of candy than they got at the previous stops and a gift. I will slip the Treasure Map under the doors late the night before.

We will not be dressing up but i will include in the treasure maps some sort of identifier for each child like a a sticker or necklace or something....undetermined

this is the list of people who have signed up already (i may be missing some as i erased tooo much of my Pms earlier this month so if your name is not here and you have already pm'ed me please do it again)

LISA0503.........2 kids age 6 and 5
