Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western

Brainstorming here....I was looking at the spreadsheet (post 1) and wondering...

I think that moving the ToT to Sunday Morning (Halloween- Key West morning) might be better than Monday. It makes much more sense to me to do the T0T on Halloween than the day after. We do not arrive in Key West until 12:30 PM, and to me the morning hours before an afternoon port arrival might cause less interference in people's plans than the morning of a Sea Day. Not to mention it being actual Halloween and all.

We could make it 11 AM or 11:30 AM and that would be plenty of time after the late seating CB to allow those folks to attend.

I know originally we had the PJ breakfast scheduled this day. Since Kris's (knewton64) departure there has been no discussion about it. Is it something everyone is still planning on doing? Maybe we could adjust that to a different day. That is something we could even do on a port day: i.e. 8:30 AM on Cozumel day (when we arrive in port at 9:45). Or really if we go with the 11 O'clock hour it wouldn't interfere with PJ breakfast anyway.

Just thinking out loud. Opinions? Discuss away. LOL!!!
I think we should do it on the 31st.:thumbsup2 How about from 11 to 11:30???? That way the character breakfasts are done. I don't see why anyone would have to change their pj breakfast plans as it is at 9 and should be well wrapped up at that point.:goodvibes

Doing the ToT on 10/31 before we dock in KW does make some sense. Are the kids supposed to wear costumes to the ToT? If so and we are scheduled for a CB,then they will gladly wear them to the CB and then to the ToT. That said, my two little vixens will gladly wear costumes and accept sugar whenever and wherever!

I for one am OK with that. If we have CB that day, we wouldn't be participating in the PJ Breakfast, and either way, both would be over by 11. And being Halloween, does seem to be a better fit for the TOT. If it's changed, great if not thats ok with me too. :)

Yeah, we are good with that. We would like to do it on the actual day so we agree.

No matter which morning we do it (if we choose to do it in the morning) there will be the same interference with Character Breakfast and Palo. There's no avoiding that. We could make it 11 AM or 11:30 AM and that would be plenty of time after the late seating CB to allow those folks to attend. There is not much to be done about avoiding Palo Brunch aside from moving it to the afternoon. The only problem IMO with afternoon plans is that folks are more likely to not want to diverge from what they are doing in the middle of a sea day. (Been there, done that, guilty as charged.;))

We are alright with changing it to Sunday from 11:00 - 11:30 too. Sounds like a great idea if everyone else is okay with it too.:thumbsup2

Thanks!

I think we are going to spend a good part of a day touring Washington DC on the Monday prior to our Cruise and Meet up with ThreeIsCrazy later that day. (Sheri, DH is a go for that plan now!!)
Now that didn't take too long to do :rotfl2:
Judy,

Depending on what you and Sheri are planning, maybe I can swing by with the twins and say howdy. I haven't met Sheri yet but we've figured out that we live fairly close to each other. :)

We'll have to see what we can plan. Sounds good to me.

Our three cabins are good for changing it to Halloween, actually I am & since the other two don't come on the boards that often they get to do what I want to do . Besides it will make more sense to my kids that way and next year they won't be looking at me after Halloween wanting to go out again.:rotfl:

And before I completely forget Nenner can I add 5 to the lanyard list. We, my Mom is visiting so I actually asked ;), don't really have a preference. Thanks!

Krisces, is that correct, you are at 13 people for your group? I had 13 in my book, but found a post by you where you said 10, but maybe you upped that in a later post. Just want to make sure the numbers are correct. :)

You're in :) I just hadn't updated that post, but it's done now, WOW, we are a Huge group! DS7 is totally ok now with wearing a life jacket in deeper water (thanks to swimming lessons this summer) and will also now put his face in the water and hold his breath for 10 seconds. Huge improvement from prior to swimming lessons. Now he's just trying to cope with the full goggles and snorkle tube. He can't stand the goggles cover his nose, and starts to panic. Practice Practice Practice. (and he doesn't know this, but it's all for this trip!) :)

Judy, you've got me on your list twice. Must be a twin thing! I think your count to CM is 65...

:rotfl2: Thats what happens lately when I try to multitask.

Has anyone ever used MapQuest for their route maps, in trip planning? Today I layed out our route with all the stops in between our start and final destination. Of course it wouldn't give me the route "I" wanted. But it offers a button you can click on to indicate "avoid this road ect..." Well each time I indicated I wanted it to avoid the 401, it would give me a different route but still get me onto that 401, just at a different location. I clicked again, "Avoid", and it would take me WAY out of the way and still back onto that damn 401. Dh has thing thing about crossing into the States as soon as possible which for us means Ogdansburg NOT Thousand Islands. It took me close to a dozen tries to get it to think like me! Total travel time from Home to Olrando (24 hours 36 minutes) But broken down into 8 1/2 hours Day 1, 2 hours 50 minutes Day 2 (we are touring DC on that day), then 13 hours 11 minutes Day 3.
I think this is set in stone now, But won't order my CAA Trip Tik till 2 or 3 weeks before we leave, this way, we be more informed as to construction on our route that may slow us down, or at least give us an option to avoid a certain area.

Took DS12 Shopping yesterday for some new shorts T's and long pants (cruise wear). Now I hope he doesn't ask where they are, because I've got them stashed away in suitcase for the trip (I like them in a few new fresh things).
OK, now back to the household chores, :scared1:

Hi Judy,

the way to get around that in mapquest is to add where you want to cross as a "stop" (I did this when mapquesting to Florida when we wanted to cross at Sarnia instead of Detroit).

I'm sure I'm missing it, but how do we sign up for the Trick or Treating? Is it going to be a scavenger hunt sort of thing or just a group candy-handout?

GEE now that Sounds SO obvious and simple, Why didn't I think of that? Sometimes the most obvious way, isn't so obvious to a mind that tends to overthink things I guess. Thanks for that tip! :)

All you have to do to sign up is to let me or Leslie (LSjones) or Ellen (Podsnel) know. I'll mark you down as participating!

I believe the final consensus was it will be a short, multi-stop scavenger hunt. Very similar to what DCL does (the offical DCL ToT in the past has been during the afternoon when most of us will be in Key West.) We will provide the candy, and the treats from Lynn (Dizzi) will also be given out (its a really big box of goodies!). Should take no longer than 1/2 hour. :goodvibes

Thanks. Do I need to send $ to someone or is the "we" all of us? So I know to pack candy if I need to ;)
