Oh... do you think they still sell the Golden Mickey Statues??? I finally promised my daughter I would buy her one! :scared1:

I checked today for two adults and two kids and was offered Cat. 11, Cat, 8, Cat 6, Cat 5 and Cat 4. Previously, there was nothing but Cat 5 and 4's. I'm guessing people have cancelled? Or have they just opened up blocks of rooms?

I am Cat. 6 GTY and anxious to see where we get placed too.

Actually there are quads in every category, even Cat. 12! (Cat. 7 only has 2 quad rooms, the SV rooms). Cat. 4 rooms are the ones that hold five (quint). So while you are GTY 9, you have a lot of opportunity for an upgrade since you would be eligible to occupy any quad room in Cat 8-4! Good luck!!

That's what has me confused. Cat. 8, 6 & 5 are all GTY status also, no rooms to choose from. There were 4 Cat. 4's to choose from and 1 cat 3.

I know I'm thinking about this too much...I'm just ready to go now and would like to know where I'm going to nest.

I got into my reservation this morning and noticed that DCL says our cruise leaves Port Canaveral 100 days from now. :dance3::dance3:

100 Days and counting down. Yea!

Won't most of us in a GTY situation find out around the rooms @ 45 day mark?

Some of you expressed an interest in the final tally for our Nachi Beach day in Cozumel. Krisces and her party of 13 was the last one to book before Island Marketing decided NC had reached capacity and stopped accepting reservations. We have 105 Disers going: 60 adults and 45 children under the age of 18 (21 boys and 24 girls). I guess we were allowed to go over the limit of 100 because 5 of the children are under the age of 4 so they get in free (only thing the wee ones won't get is a lounge chair). So....if I've got my math right, never a given with me, it looks like we rented out the whole beach. Imagine that.

I'll post more reminders about Nachi on the front page of the forum as we get closer to our departure date.

It is pretty normal to see cabins open up as we near the final payment date. Basically it is "put up or shut up".

Woo Hoo!! We "put up" yesterday by paying the balance on this cruise. Waited until close to the last day since we like to hang on to the money as long as possible. Feels great.

Thanks for keeping the tallies on this. We are so glad we got in! I think we were the next to the last group. This should be an awesome day with everyone there a part of this cruise. That can't happen too often can it! :thumbsup2

Hey Judy! I just wanted to let you know that I had to buy that "Canadian Please" song on itunes because I just love it!! I think I have showed that video to everyone I know!! :thumbsup2

Speaking of GTY, when we are finally assigned a stateroom, will it also tell us precisely what Cat. it is? I'm not counting on an upgrade, but I'd like to be able to recognize some Pixie dust if I receive any :)

disney-cruiser, yes thats a very catchy tune isn't it :) I actually didn't know you could get it on itunes! Thats great!

8 or is it 9 days till all of us silver members can do our Bookings!!!!! I think all I'm booking is our Palo reservations.

Funny thing here is Tim keeps mentioning a Disney Cruise vacation, how much he wants to go, and why do we have to wait till next year to go, why couldn't we go this year............ Hmmmm, I KNOW he doesn't know about it. Funny though .

From what I understand, no it won't tell you if the Cat. has changed. Your reservation would still say Cat. 6 GTY, and then list a stateroom number. You would have to look up the stateroom number on a deck plan to see if you have have been upgraded. You probably can also plug in the stateroom number here in the boards in the section where they have stateroom reviews to find out the Cat. you actually received (and to find out if people thought it was a good room!)

Isn't today 99 days until we cruise? Meaning we all should be engaging in a little double digit dance of some sort? :dance3:

Still working on some more finalization of plans. Can anyone recommend some nice but inexpensive hotels in the Orlando or Kissimmee area that has a pool and includes a breakfast? I'm reached my limit today of looking online, (eyes get cross eyed after a while, or at least if feels like that). We'll probably be arriving in Orlando now on the Tuesday before we sail, or maybe we'll stretch it out and arrive on the Wednesday. I won't stay where we stayed last fall. It wasn't bad but it was old and there were a few problems. So for any of you who have stayed off Disney property, at a great place a great rate, with a pool and breakfast included, can you share that here?

I have a friend sailing on the Wonder, but not until the end of August. Have you tried calling Disney Merchandise?

Yeah us too, since we have our other excursions all wrapped up. Well, I guess we will have to book Flounder's Reef too. Better get my rear in gear and figure out what times for both will work best! :thumbsup2

We have had pretty good luck through Hotwire/Priceline. We got a great rate and really enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza Orlando (Universal)...classy and huge room. But not cheap unless you go through Hotwire (IIRC we got it for around $59/nt). We also really enjoyed the Hampton Inn Calypso Cay- again great price through Hotwire and fantastic huge room. For some reason I don't recall if continental breakfast was included in either one. Crowne's pool was nice but I don't think Hampton's was anything special. We did not like the Holiday Inn Main Gate East. It was older and the rooms were really small (esp. the cruiseline sized bathroom ). Not sure if that helps much but there are some deals to be had, for sure! :)

Was casually browsing the main board but haven't heard this mentioned: does anyone know how the progress is going at Castaway Cay? I know Pelican Plunge has opened but I was wondering about the family beach expansion, Cookies II and the new waterplay/splash area Spring-A-Leak.

I know I have read this should be complete in Summer 2010 so I assumed it would all be done by the time we arrived, I'm just curious if anyone is aware of how close it is getting to completion.

Thanks! :)
