Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

Sure! Can you please pm me with your email address?

Not able to PM as of yet: I still have some posting to go...

Anyhow, I was hoping our family could participate in the Fish Extender Experience. We are a family of 4, Me, Hubby, DS (9), and DS (5).

Our stateroom is 2631

If you need more info, let me know.
Thanks,
Tara

Well darn! I was so excited that someone might get it! Hope some times come available for anyone still needing one!

It is kind of weird because availability shows when I look on my reservation, but when I log into to my parents in law who were hoping to get a brunch, there is no availability at all :confused3 I don't wat to play too much as I am paranoid about losing ours!

Hopefully everyone will get what they want onboard :wizard:

this summer I did buy some dresses. It's been years since I wore a dress. My problem is, I found one I actually LOVE, so how do I wear it just once during the cruise????

Judy, I think it would probably be okay to wear the dress twice during the cruise. I don't think any of us are card carrying members of the fashion police. :rolleyes1

If you love it that much - enjoy it!

You can rebook onboard :thumbsup2 This cruise is one we rebooked onboard during our first cruise ever (in jan 2009!)

I agree :thumbsup2 How often do you get to wear a dress you love!!! Plus more space in the suitcase!

Wow, I slip out to the park with the kids for an hour and a bit, and this board goes and moves up two pages!!! :thumbsup2

I was on the phone yesterday booking the Hotel for our trip to take DS off to College. SMALL WORLD!!! I WAS going to book online, but something tell me to call directly. The girl I spoke with at the desk at the hotel, made the booking for me, AND when she heard we were taking our son to College, asked where we are coming from. When I told her Ottawa, she told me SHE'S from Ottawa!! So then she asked me what route we were taking, and then we discussed the different routes.
The drive there is what has been keeping me stressed and full of anxiety, but NO MORE! The route we were planning, she told me, is a bit less in KM, but is acutally more in time Because there are more major cities to go through, and she pointed out that currrently there is major construction all along that very scenic Highway, and with it being a long weekend that we'll be travelling, she said thats the route all the transport trucks take and all the vacationers in there Winibago's with their kids and gramma and granpa hanging out the window (her words not mine :rotfl: ). She told the the other route, the one that Mapquest and the GPS actually pick for us, is longer in KM, but actually shorter in time. But that it does take us further up North before taking us down to Thunder Bay. And she informed me that if we take that recommended route, to keep in mind that once we hit the town of Hurst, that will be our last chance for hours to use a bathroom, fill up on gas, or eat! ALL good to know! So now we have a first hand recommendation from an experienced traveler on that route, I feel such a relief in the stress leavel!

I feel so happy this morning, I even got working on more of my FE gifts! :yay:

Hi Kate! My Dsister is coming on our cruise with her family and they are from Centreville, VA! So another Northern Va cruiser!

And be sure to actually book another cruise while onboard!!! That is the one tip I messed up on for our cruise. I tried to get my hubby to do it when we sailed two years ago and he didn't want to, but low and behold we booked again anyways but without the great discount or OBC! Even if you aren't sure when you want to go again just book a dummy date! The deposit amounts are half price too, so they make it easier to book on board for a future sailing. :thumbsup2

Thank you both! I probably will do that! I bought that dress on a mommy and me shopping day with my own mom! Don't know why I haven't worn a dress in years, but happy to have some I like and WILL wear! :)

Just read the post on the main board about kids wear in the dining room. Now I have a question and thought I'd ask my fellow travelers. I do plan on letting my boys wear shorts in the dining rooms on cruise casual nights. These are new and dressy shorts with a nice shirt. But my question if for DH. In your opinions, is he ok to pack the dressy shorts and polos for cruise casual for some nights? We have his semi formal and formal clothes and one pair of cream colored casual pants for cruise casual as well. I got those causal pants from Old Navy, and wonder if they are what you call Dockers? Can someone explain what Dockers are?

Judy, It is a term we use here for all kinds of Casual pants for men. Here is a Google search on "dockers pants". http://www.google.com/products?hl=e...esult_group&ct=title&resnum=3&ved=0CFMQrQQwAg

A lot of business now allow what they call "business casual" and this is generally what men will wear for business casual. My DH has this policy at work so I told him that at dinner on the cruise he has to wear what he wears to work for a few hours. I said if it is good enough for his boss then it is good enough for his real BOSS..... me! :)

Thanks, thats very helpful. I'd say then the pants I got him from Old Navy are Dockers. Knowing him, he'll say the one pair is enough and he'll just wear a different shirt each night. :)

I can't remember what he wore to dinners last fall on the Wonder, but I do hear the Wonder is a little more lax than the Magic and I'm SO looking forward to the new experience on a ship that will be New to us! :)

That's what we do for my hubby. I will probably only bring him one or two pair and few different shirts. He isn't usually messy and we dont' wear the pants that long in the evening. So I don't think only having a few pairs will be a problem. I learned from my last cruise that I overpacked. I learned to bring only pants that he can wear with the same shoes so I don't have to pack a bunch of his big shoes!!
