Hi Everyone: I am brand new to this site although I have been exploring it for a while I never registered. I am very sad because today I found out about the fish extenders. I am sad because I also found out that I have missed the deadline to be on the list. Anyone know of anything I can do? Thanks....6 weeks left!

Michelle glad that your father did well. Us PT's aren't too bad but it's usually not fun getting up the first time.

I have decided the 5K on castaway Cay is just what I need to get motivated. So I am starting to train for it. We will see how long that lasts.

jmo, welcome aboard! Can't help you about the FEs, since I'm not participating, but even if you can't do it - it's gonna be a great trip!

We had some excitement last night on the way home from soccer practice....we found a little 3 year old girl who had wandered away from home (several blocks, it turns out). I called 911 while DH "grabbed" her (she'd started running away and we were scared she was going to go into the street). The dad showed up, very relieved to find her and thankful to us, but since we had called it in, we all waited until the cop showed up. While I'm so thankful that everything worked out, I feel bad about the dad, since I'm sure it created some hassles for him (and they are moving out of state this weekend). But, just as I would feel, some hassels are nothing compared to the thought of what could've happened if she'd gone into the busier street (she'd crossed a couple already to get where she was) or if some not as concerned for her safety had stopped for her....So, all's well that ends well! :grouphug:

Have a great weekend, everybody. I'm off to make a simple syrup for fresh-made Lemon Drops for a martini party tonight...

Disregard last email about the extenders. Just finished a few hours of reading past posts and realize that it is way to late to get involved as many of you have worked hard on your items. Wished I had known. Oh well, looking forward to a great trip.:):rotfl:

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. Dad is now in ICU due to the trama of surgery and cause he's on a c-pap machine, so they wanna monitor his breathng for the night.....should move back to the surgical ortho floor tomorrow after lunch( by the time the docs write the order) ya know how long that can take...LOL So everything seems ok, he said he feels like he got hit by a mack truck! Well recovery and PT will begin in a few days...I think the PT will kick his butt!

Glad to hear about hopefully booking onboard, Not sure we will but love the option to be able to!

Kids start school next week!! The 31st. Nelia actually obly goes the 2nd...they stagger the kindergardeners for the week,,,one day that week> Well off to bed and back to the hospital tomorrow...TTFN

I am glad that the surgery went well. I hope that he will make a speedy recovery.

I hope that Nelia will enjoy school. Do they do anything special on the first day at school where you live? In Germany the first day at school is a major celebration with all kinds of fun traditions.

For us August 31st is the last public holiday prior to Christmas. Unfortunately I have to work the entire holiday weekend. Still, I am not complaining. The shift pay I get for working on a public holiday will pay for my MNNSHP ticket.

I think another late joiner suggested doing a mini Fish Extender Exchange for the people who missed the cut off date.

Talking of Fish Extender gifts, my gifts for the girls 6 and up and the women are made and labeled. I am finished with the gifts for the 6 to 9 year old boys and I am very pleased with the result. For the older boys, I have done the structural aspect of the gift, but I thought it looked too plain so I ordered some extra supplies to embellish them a little. Hopefully those supplies will arrive on Monday so that I can finish them off on my days off. So all that I have left to do is order the gift for the under 6s and tie the name tags on the gifts and get the last component of the main gift and assemble that.

I also found some more cool stuff for my Secret Mickey. I also found some more accessories for my pirate costume. I am pretty much set.

Welcome aboard JMO! :) We're glad you've joined us. :)

Well I finally broke down and got my hair cut. :) It's been 3 months since my last hair cut. I don't normally wait that long as my hair grows really fast. However, I've needed to change hairdressers for several reasons and I just procrastinated. Well I found someone who has been doing hair for only a year now but she did an AWESOME job. :) She listened to me, looked at the picture suggestions I gave her and made a few suggestions to me and when it was all said and done it was fantastic. :) Phew. :)

Nothing new to really report. Gonna be a relatively busy week cause it's the last week before school starts. I'll still pop in and out though. :) Talk to you all later! Kristi

Mindi---U are a PT huh? Well I am sure that my dad rather have a cute lady to look at and not a big man to bust his behind...LOL He got out of his bed tonight and into a special hip surgery patient recliner. He said it was easier then getting on the bed pan earlier in the day, so I guess that's good. We'll see how he feels tomorrow morning. We are at the hotel now and ready for bed.....seeing my girls made Grandpa very happy!!! Dad loves his grand-daughters....they are his little princess'....well off to bed...feeling a bit sick to my stomach......Talk to you all later.

P.s Welcome aboard JMO!!
and Corrina.... so excited to see ur gift!!!!

I was shocked too to see how quiet the board was. I couldn't believe it when I had to find us on page two earlier today.

I hope your dad is doing well. Was it a total hip replacement?

Mindi----yes it was on the left! I am worried that he wont be able to come home and has to go to a rehab....he hasn't had PT yet I guess cause it was the weekend but they say he's doing good getting outta bed and into a chair with their help...mostly using his upper strength and a walker. I just want him home ASAP would make life easier on mom.---I think...LOL Thanks for ur prayers and well wishes.

yeah awful quiet on here....alot of lurkers but no talkers! Hmm is everyone having a boring weekend that they have nothing to say??? =) Well I really am off to bed now...TTFN

Hi Michelle,

I had a great weekend. Mom and I got our formals, got lots of clothes and what nots for the cruise. I'm ready to go. With Jason starting schoold next Tuesday the days are bound to fly by now.

Glad to hear that your Dad is doing well.

:cool1:Yay, you guys got formals! Is your mom realizing that the cruise is coming, finally?

We are still waiting for Ryans passport, and I have to get formals for Ashley and Riley. The ones we have for them aren't going to work. I've been searching, but haven't been able to find anything.

We had Baileys soccer pictures at 7:45am on Saturday morning, then she was in opening day ceremonies(they only have the younger ones in it, so Ashley and Riley weren't in it)then she had a game at 11:30 and then we headed straight to the dirt bike track with the trailer. We took the girls dirt bike riding and stayed overnight. It was Baileys first time and she LOVED it. Ryan was running alongside of her and could barely keep up with her. She didn't want to stop, but it got dark. After we got home yesterday and unloaded the trailer Ashley had her new "friend" come over to meet us...He's a senior! :scared1: When I met him though he looked her age. It's funny how girls mature (even physically)faster than boys. I wouldn't have guessed he was two years older than her. He is on the swim team and is very clean cut and seems nice. (Don't get me wrong, he's a boy so I wont be taking my eye off of them :rolleyes1) Bailey made a very good chaperone ;)

The little girl that I watch during the week is coming back starting today (her moms a teacher so I didn't have her over the summer). So there goes my free time in the mornings while Bailey is at school. :confused3 Good thing I got my FE gifts done!

Well, off to get the rest of the clan ready for school. Chat with you all later.
Andrea

PS 37 days until we head out for our vacation!!!:cool1::cool1::banana::banana::woohoo::woohoo:

:teacher:First day of school!
:teacher:First day of school!:woohoo:
:teacher:First day of school!:yay:

DS is so excited to start Kindergarten that he wanted to leave before we'd had breakfast and then he came into the kitchen wearing his backpack and I had to explain that we wouldn't be leaving for another hour yet! :rotfl:

Heather, that is pretty much how the first day went for Bailey too! :rotfl2: She got up, took off her PJ's and was sitting there in her underwear trying to put her shoes on, and she wasn't even out of bed yet!

Gena,

Alex's birthday is Aug 26, he will be 7. We are having his party this Saturday. Tell Payton, Happy Birthday!!!

Carol

Michelle, glad to hear things went well with the surgery. We continue to pray for your dad as well as your family.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday. Two weeks of school completed for me. The boys are off to a good start. They are enjoying their classes and teachers.

We are celebrating Payton's b'day today (his actual b'day is not until Wed. the 26th). :cake:We are going to dinner and then to a baseball game. He is excited about having his friends go with him. I remembered at 8:55 last night to order his birthday cookie. I would have been in the dog house if I had forgotten.

Six weeks seems like so far away, yet I know it will pass quickly. The key word now is PATIENCE.

Gena

Ok so it's getting closer cause I got my luggage tags today and my Disney express vouchers for my stay on thurs night at All-Star Sports resort!!! YES!!! I am so excited!! Waiting impatiently for my MNSSHP tickets!!! Come on mailman!!!! (oh that's my husband...LMAO)

Happy Birthday to the Birthday boys this week!! Ok well off to make dinner and then to set up gagrage sale stuff...!

Since we needed to move our cruise up (and recently moved, started new job, new school, etc.), I've been a bit behind on planning this cruise! We would like to visit the beaches at both Cozumel and Grand Cayman and maybe do some shallow snorkeling while there. Our girls are 6 and 4 so shore excursions are out ("too boring" would be DD4's comment)!:lmao:

Can anyone recommend any beaches and travel options to those beache? I did a search on other posts but it's bringing up too much so I'm going back here, first.

Thanks!
Amy

Michelle- I am glad read your father is recovering well. I hope the PT goes smoothly.
Amy- Seven mile beach in Grand Caymen is a short cab ride away from port, and has a taxi stand there for when you are ready to go back. There are chairs and umbrellas to rent. Sorry, I don't have any information for Cozumel.
I was looking up the Monday Night Football schedule, and 10/05 will be Green Bay at Minnesota. Neither my husband nor I have been big fans of either team, but are expecting it to be a good game because of the Bret Favre controversy. Is anyone else planning on watching?
I can't believe it is only about five and a half weeks until we sail away! I can't wait!
