Familyfun5----ok I will way in with my 2 cents. Since we gave a cut off I will say that U will prolly have to keep track of who you are trading with cause not everyone will have the ability to trade at this point. I am fine letting ur family participate since it is only a week after our cut-off but I really think as we make our way into August that we just have to say NO...that was the reason for the cut off! You can all do what ya want but I don't mean it to sound bad it's just that makes the ones who dont have enough stuff to welcome the new people feel real bad they can't do it!! I will need some info from you like names and ages, stateroom #, and dining. For my FE I will also need boys fav sports teams...ok so the baby doesn't count......the sooner the info the better...=)

I am hoping I have no problem getting my MNSSHP at the end of August!! I really wanna go. I have loved looking at the navigators, however I have not found times when all 4 kids will be in the club/nursery. Unless of course Sydney clicks with her friends she's been writing and they hang together! I hope they do....makes lasting memories and sometimes life long distance friends! Well I have to go fold laundry and make dinner...not rest for the weary cause I am a working woman now...LOL

Mom and I got a good start on part of our FE gifts tonight!!! Since, FE's are on my mind, I'm a little late weighing in on it but here goes:
One option might be to do a 'Late Arrivers' FE. One of the late arrivers could keep up the names and room numbers and they could do a mini version. It seems to me that as we get closer to the cruise more people will join the thread. So they could end up having several people to swap with.

Another idea would be to add an area on our list that says: late arrivers -- to be delievered to as able -- That way those of us that are able to do more can and those that aren't won't feel bad about not being able too. That's how they handled it on the last cruise I was on.

Just my thoughts!

;)Ok..up tp pee, saw the comments, Just had to weigh in!:) I have spent the last 6 months keeping up this list, not an easy task when people switch rms, leave our cruise, go yes I am in, no I am not and also breeze in say "Hi I am going on ur cruise" and never reappear again!! :confused3: I don't mind adding the occasional cruiser to our DIS group but I am No longer:sad2: asking people to do FE, there was a cut off and that was my cut off to have to worry about it. For me it is not a matter of having more supplies, for me it's I have spent 6 months chasing people and PM'ing them for answers and I am no longer doing it. Most of you don't realize the time in takes to get people to respond. I still have 2 who have said Oh I wanna do SM and still haven't responded with their questionaire:headache: or anything so I had to move around the list and figure out how to change who people had(thanks Robin for letting me switch ur person!:thanks:) So for me, there will be a bottom to our list that says late arrivers of which I will add names or whatever info they give me but I am not gonna fish for any other info(like stateroom, specifics) for the FE...DONE DONE DONE!!:drinking1 Sorry to sound irritated but this has been alot of work and I would like to enjoy my stresses of the cruise and that this list not be one of them!!! I have added Familyfun5 and I have added them to the FE list, still waiting on info for that. That's fine but today is August 1.............................Michelle is done!!!:dancer: No more FE list for me!!! Just a cruiser list!!!

Familyfun5........PLEASE do not think my rant was brought on by you appearing--:sad2:-IT WAS NOT! I am fine adding you, this has just been alot of work as stated above and it just needed said or else people would have expected this FE things to go on forever. I have added ya,:) but I need a bit of info and I know a few doing FE need info for their gifts too. I will PM ya with what I need in case you missed that post.:thumbsup2

Please know this wasn't directed toward anyone in general!! Just directed toward the list and all the work behind it and the web page!
Well back to bed for me! TTFN

Ok so today I had my first day at work...fun...nice to be among adults after 9 years....just think how smart I could get by october... Well I went dressed up today cause I wasn't sure what I was to wear. Well it is a doctors office so SCRUBS. I was under the impression that only the nurses wore scrubs but at this office the entire office staff does,, well except the docs..sounds odd...lol Anyhow I was so excited cause guess what kinda scrubs I saw at Walmart....MICKEY MOUSE!! so of course I went straight there after work and bought them Woohoo! I will post a pic tomorrow of me in them! Nothing like going to work in ur PJ's..well not pj's but they are awful comfy.

I am glad that you are settling in to work. I love the idea of the Mickey Mouse scrubs.

Quick question for everyone...someone else from our thread is considering making FE gifts using addresses. Does anyone have a problem with me passing the addresses onto her? If so, go ahead and PM me and let me know. If I don't hear from you I will assume it is OK. I just didn't want to hand them over without permission, I guess I'm wierd that way.

I have no problem with you handing my address over to the other person.

I read on here that the new dates won't be available until November...hopefully that is just a rumor because I would love to not have to book dummy dates.

I had heard this as well. I was hoping for the 2011 cruises being released in October as well. We really want to do the Panama Canal cruise on the Wonder and some discount would have been nice. Still, we still have the Eastbound Transatlantic to book and we will do that while we are on the Magic.

Please say an extra pray for my mom. She has had trouble with her knee for several years, including at least 8 surgeries and a couple of replacements. Now they think it is infected again (she has already fought staff in this knee). The doctor today wants her to go and take the knee out and put a rod in so she would have a straight leg for the rest of her life and she doesn't want to do that. She has had a lot of health problems since I was 19. Pray for her, my father and the doctors treating her. She has been through so much and I hate seeing her go through this again.

Take care,

Gena

Gena, you mother is in my thoughts and prayers.

We are doing MNSSHP Oct. 1st, and bought our tickets a little over a week ago (but they have not come in yet). Our TA said there were pleanty of tickets left.
Has anyone done the jet ski on CC? My husband brought it up the other day, and I can't find anything about it on Disney's website. Do you think it has been discontinued, or am I just missing something?
I hope you all are having a great week!

I am still undecided regarding MNSSHP, but I think if tickets are still available next pay day, I probably just go for it. If I do go, I will do it after the cruise. We are staying off site prior to the cruise and with my body still on UK time, I am ready for my bed at 8pm the very latest. After the cruise I will have adapted to the different time zone and we are also staying on site.

We did the jet skis on CC last year while we were on the Wonder. Actually the more accurate description would be that I started to do the jet skis last year. This was a last minute decision as our parasail had been canceled. I was a little nervous and they suggested I should ride doubles with DH. We were moving a long quite happily and they kept signalling us to speed up. As soon as we did, we both fell off the jet ski. We were right in front of the Flying Dutchman when we went in. I did not have enough upper body strength to get back on. In any case I was not to keen to continue anyway. We were still within easy swimming distance to the beach, but they did not let me swim back. They sent the parasailing boat to collect me and take me back to the beach. I spent a happy hour chatting to the tour operator staff at the beach while DH continued on the excursion.

Sundays activities list on the navigator was posted wrong on the site I got it from...i sorta noticed it was the same as Mondays and even though some things are the same every cruise they aren't everyday....LOL So here is Sundays activity nav page

That nearly gave me a heart attack. Key West is the port that I am looking forward to the most. I had a look at the Navigator and there were so many activities that I really wanted to do. I was getting ready to send DH ashore on his own and stay on the ship as I really really want to do some of those activities. Then I spotted the listing for the Golden Mickeys after party and I realised that those activities are actually for the Monday.

Thanks for taking the time to post all the Navigators. This makes me look forward to the cruise even more.

Alright so thats Sat, sun , mon , tues and weds.....I will get more on here later after dinner! I printed up the pg 2 of everyday so I could see some activities the kids and DH and I wanted to do.....maybe they will be same time maybe not but definately gives me ideas......like the margarita and tequilla tasting....ok so I know Robin, Norma and Andrea are prolly in for that......anyone else?? I think it's MOnday at 2pm if its the same as shown on these navigators!! well i will be back later...TTFN

I would definitely be up for the Margarita and Tequilla Tasting. 2 PM on the Monday would be perfect. We did this on the Magic with two of our table mates last year and had great fun. The advantage is that we have our High Team at Palo at three so the alcohol will be diluted by food fairly swiftly.

Do you have to wear a jacket and tie to Palos? I thought I remembered it being a collared shirt?
Mindi

Last year for brunch, DH wore a collared shirt and I wore a nice long dress. For dinner he wore a coloured shirt, Disney tie and a vest and I wore a cocktail dress. On both occassions we felt slightly over dressed.

Hi. We are joining!!! It is me (35) DH (41 on cruise) DS1 (11) DS2 (1 ½) DD (12 wks by cruise). We have had a tough year with two babies and really are looking forward to this. We were booked on a Jan Eastern but I could not wait that long. Our family needs some serious vacation time after the newest baby. In fact that is why I am up at 1 am, my only me time after I just got her to sleep.

A bit about us. I am a full time student, full time mom….. DS1 turns 12 in December and is just starting middle school, 6th grade. He is currently at a Boy Scout camp until Saturday. [nice break for him with a toddler finding his screaming voice and a new baby who does not understand or like it when she is put down] DH is a great guy and is letting me plan and us all take this trip so I can keep my sanity:. We will see if it works. We live in Northern Colorado.

I would like to join the FE but I see that there was a cut off of July 20thand some were against adding late arrivals, which I understand. Please let us know your thoughts. We would like to join though I do not expect all to accept us since many have finished and ordered items. But we would still like to participate some. It was a big part of our last cruise for DS1. But if the ruling is no, I guess that what happens when you add on later. DS1 does not know about the trip. We will see if I can keep it from him for some 65 days. Sounds so close; but yet so far.

I realize we are late arrival but I have enjoyed reading many of the posts. I hope to nudge my way in some. I tend to be a bit of a lurker and post occasionally and when school starts on August 24 I will be even busier. But it will all be fun. After all we will be on Disney

:welcome: on board.

I have enough to include the new family into the main gift. I have not bought the gift yet for the under 6s group and I have enough materials for the females 6 and up. There is no way I can include an 11 year old boy. I placed an order for the components on the cut off day and cannot order more.

Well back to bed for me! TTFN

I was very worried about this. Last year we had the situation that with less than two weeks to go before the cruise and for me 2 days before I left the UK for my vacation. I was glad that we set an early cut off date and had agreed that no exceptions would be made. I really hope we stick to this in future. This is meant to be fun and I don't want to get into a situation that I feel guilty about not being able to accommodate late joiners, when we had agreed that there would be none.

Right, I get off my soap box now. I have to ring Member Services today to order my DVC annual pass today before the prices go up tomorrow. I had originally planned to do this next pay day, but $20 buys a few pins. Once I have done this, I am pretty much set. I still have to sort out a MNSSHP ticket if I go ahead with this and also have to book the hotel near the airport in the UK. I am also still working on the Secret Mickey gift. I have two things so far and loads of ideas.

Right, I better go back to working on my quiz. I am hosting the monthly quiz on the Disneyland Paris Planning and Community board this month. When today started I had only one third of the questions. Now I am missing less than a third.

Lisa....I didn't know Mike wasn't going with us?????? As for the MNSSHP....Andrea has her tickets for thurs and I have to get mine and someone else(dangit brain fart) is going too! Sorry I forgot.....this workng girls mind is going to moosh....LOL As for dressing up ideas.....do you wanna go Disney costumes for sure?????? Otherwise u could do the flintsones or scooby doo....=) We aren't dressing...the Fe's have taken up luggage space so no room for Halloween costumes. We are just making MNSSHP shirts to wear! I just hope there are tickets left when I buy them.

Andrea---I excited that the MNSSHP tickets are hard tickets.... if they don't take the ticket from you mine will love playing with them at home....they pretend they are cruising ALOT!!!! My house has little luggage for them and their AG dolls everywhere...man they overpack...I wonder where they got that from!

Well off to work....Grandpa has to take the girls to golf lessons today(hmm I wonder how that will go..LOL) and I have to pack them lunch....Sydney golfs and Nelia eats while her lessons are and then visa versa. TTFN

sorry I thought I had told you Mike wasn't going - has to work on the 9th and 10th so he can't go.

We are looking for something other than Disney for MNSSHP - last time we were the Average Joe's from Dodgeball. Perfect costume for hot Florida - t-shirts I got on ebay and shorts! Hoping to figure out something similiar.

Heather, it sounds like everything will work out with the KSC tickets. I wouldn't worry about it. :)
Andrea, I am sorry to hear about the dentist, just think about how great you will feel after everything is done.
Lisa, we will be at MNSSHP on Thursday. We are going as pirates to get double duty out of our costumes.
Has anyone heard anything about FL resident rates for our dates? I see September dates are out, but I am getting anxious for the October dates. Does anyone know when they usually come out?
Have a great day everyone!

We thought about using our pirate costumes but decided they would be too hot for the parks. (Mine is a floor length dress and Darrell's is long sleeves and long pants)

I haven't seen anything about FL rates for oct yet. We've never used those before since we are new to FL (1 year on Tuesday). Can they be applied to existing reservations? We booked this cruise while onboard so we got the 10% off plus the $200 obc so it would have to be better than that to benefit us.

I just renewed our passes. I was planning to do it next Friday but the price increase bumped up my plans by 6 days.

Hi everyone. Got home from vacation yesterday. Looked through the mail. We now have Katelin's passport so we all have one now! Then, my mom sent birthday presents to Lilli (she turns 7 this Friday) of a pirate costume and an Ariel costume. And she chose to send something for the little one as well so she also now has a pirate costume and Ariel costume, Very cool. I also ordered the girl's polo shirts for boarding day. I'll order the adult's polo shirts tomorrow. I feel good about all that has been accomplished. :) Well, both my girls are up. Go figure. It's off to church shortly. Take care. Kristi

That is a good point about it being hot, hopefully it will cool down by the time MNSSHP starts.
I have looked at the FL resident rates for September and for a cat. 5 it was $799 per person. We had to switch cruise dates and lost our re-booking benefits, so that price would be a significant savings for us. I have never used the FL resident rates, but my understanding is that you can apply it to already booked cruises. Hopefully our cruise dates become eligible!

I haven't been on in a while becuase my kids are keeping me very busy this summer. Anyway I have some questions on the fish extenders since this is are first disney cruise.

1. Are we assigned a certain day to past them out? Or do we do it randomly throughout the cruise.
2. Do we get enough presents for everyone for everyday? Or just one present per preson for the week?
3. Do we put gift tag on them to tell everyone who there from or is it suposed to be a secret?
4. Did I count right- 84 adults, 35 girls, 24 boys? (that's a whole lot of people)
5. I know alot of people make home made gift, however I'm not that crafty so what the average price to spend on FE gifts?
6. Has anyone every ship there FE gift to the ship? Is this reliable? I would hate for them not to make it on board if I decided to ship them.

I know a lot of dumb questions. I just want to make sure I get it right!! Thanks for the help!!

I will answer a few of the questions for you...

1) We decided not to assign days, so you pass yours out when it's convienent for you.

2)Most people just do enough for a "one time" gift. Meaning if you pass yours out all at once you will be done for the week. Some people do one per stateroom or one per adult couple, it just depends on what you choose to do.

3) It is up to you whether you put your names on your gifts or not, I don't think we have said one way or the other so I'm assuming it's a personal choice.

4) I haven't counted lately, so I'm not sure if that is correct or not...but you're right, that is a lot!

5) I'm making mine so I can't tell you how much people spend on store bought stuff, go with your budget! This is meant to be fun, not stressful. Sometimes less is more. :thumbsup2

6)I have read of people that have shipped theirs to the boat, I haven't heard of anyone that has had any problems. That doesn't mean that it hasn't happened though. Speaking for myself if something like that were to happen I'm sure everyone would understand, and still want you to enjoy recieving your FE gifts.
HTH

Well the garage sale was a success! Other than the fact that the one big item (a corner unit computer desk) that I wanted to get rid of is still sitting in my driveway with a "FREE" sign on it. :confused3 I took all the 5's and 1's and sealed them in an evelope and wrote "cruise tips" on it. :thumbsup2 The rest will go into the bank and disappear, as does everything that goes into the bank...

Well se set sail two months from tomorrow, but I can say we leave in less than two months since we are leaving home on September 30th. :cool1: I remember being on this thread months and months ago, when we had over a year and reading post of people that were going in only a couple months and I was so envious! Now that's us, we are going in two months. :dance3: Anyone else excited?

As far as preperations, we only need to get Ryans passport, the other 4 of us have ours. We have the girls pirate costumes. We need one dress for formal night (Ashleys) and the girls need shoes for formal and semi formal night. Unfortunately the color schemes are completely different for the two nights, so they need two pairs of dress up shoes. (wasn't thinking ahead on that one )

Welcome back Kristi! I'm glad you guys had a good time! Well, I'm off to get ready for church. Chat with you all later!
Andrea

Stacey, on a side note, I just noticed your kids names...my oldest DD's name is Ashley and my DH wanted to name our youngest Hailey, but we wound up with Bailey. That would have been funny if we both had three kids and both our oldest and youngest had the same names. Just thinking outloud, parden the tangent. :confused3

Michelle, I just visited the website and I know you told us, but for the life of me I can't remember what the names in red are for? :rolleyes1 Thank you, yet again, for all you're hard work on the web page, it is MUCH appreciated.
Andrea

9 weeks from right now...as I type (9:36 PDT), we will be disembarking in Key West!:yay: Well, I will - I don't know what the rest of you have planned!;)

We got our passports on Thursday, so it's all feeling so close! I was able to finish our cruise paperwork/check-in, now that we have the pp numbers, so that's all printed out and waiting for signatures.

I know I posted about the Radisson and Sherrod's customer service, but I don't think I followed up on Friday. I was supposed to call him Friday morning once I had the new reservations (with the KSC tickets) made. I got distracted (by Passporter, Facebook and DIS :rolleyes1), so at 10:30 my phone rings. It was Sherrod! He didn't wait for me to call him, he went ahead and called me. He said he noticed that I had made the new ressies, so he was going to go ahead and cancel the other ones (with no penalty). Again, such great personal customer service....

Anyway, the other thing I worked on on Friday was our Embarkation t-shirts. I want us to match and with 2 plus size women, 1 boy, 1 girl and 2 male adults, it's very hard to piece shirts together in a store. So, I found a t-shirt site called Jiffyshirts.com where they have ridiculous prices! I can get 6 "ringer" shirts (the ones with a color around the sleeves and neck), including shipping, for less than $40! So, we're going to place that order tonight, once we've decided for certain which shirt/color we'll do.

And then, yesterday, I got my magnet sheets in the mail! :cool1: I had ordered a pack of 25 for $19.99 (including free shipping), which is much cheaper than the $12 for 5 pricetag at office supply stores!

Let the crafting commence!

Michelle, I just visited the website and I know you told us, but for the life of me I can't remember what the names in red are for? :rolleyes1 Thank you, yet again, for all you're hard work on the web page, it is MUCH appreciated.
Andrea

The names in red are the families that take part in the Fish Extender Exchange.

I am glad that you got your package sorted out. I agree that this is fantastic customer service.

Well, I got another piece of my pirate costume today. I managed the get a triangular black lace sarong to tie around my waist. I have narrowed down a head wrap to two possible designs as well. So all I need to find now is some pirate jewellery.

Does anyone have a FE idea they wouldn't mind sharing that a 4 year old could make? She wants to make something for the other kids but I can't come up an idea.

Mindi

Stacey--------actually it looks like u counted everyone but NOT everyone is in on the FE...on the web page the FE people are highlighted red or you could go over and look in the FE columne where it says yes or no. There is actually 68 adults, 28 girls, and 20 boys.....make sure to look where it says yes for FE in case some names didn't highlight but red does mean they are in FE. I was planning to make a list which just had the FE people on it for myself to print so I can use it as my checklist....I will post it after I make it for me....I will update as well 30 days out when us GTY people get our room numbers!!

We never decided on delivering! I am not delivering Monday at 2pm cause I will taste tasting...LMAO Woohoo! Well have to give up my laptop for the DH to borrow....I will BBL

OK...under the pic on the web page is our cruise roll call list..of which says yes / no to FE and SM. Then under that there is another list of only the FE people. So if u print the FE list it will help you keep track. I have been crossing off names as I make their FE so I know I have everyones. However don't print your final copy until closer to the cruise when I can add the rm numbers of us who have none. Also if anyones room number changes due to upgrade or upgrading at the port please show up to the cruise meet at 3pm to tell us all so we can deliver ur stuff. I will have my laptop and will check it friday night from the residence inn, assuming they have free WiFi.

I hope the FE list help u all keep track.

What about having her design her own cruise magnets? She could draw some pictures using crayons, stickers, markers, ect. and then you could scan them in to the computer as pictures. Then send them to CVS to be printed out as glossy photos. Attach a small adhesive magnet dot and she could hang them on the doors when you pass out your gifts.

I would think a 4-year-old would be proud walking around a cruise ship and seeing her artwork on everyone's door! I know that my daughter loved hanging up her artwork all the time at that age. :)

Boo! I have a massage scheduled 2-3:15, so I can't do the tastings. (That "boo" is for not being able to do the tastings, not that you get to or that I have a massage!). On previous cruises, it looked like they offered them on both sea days, but recent Navigators have shown single tastings of each, except the beer and I don't like beer!

But, I'll rest easy getting my hot stone massage:p, with the knowledge that I can make a pretty good martini on my own!:drinking1

I ordered our t-shirts last night, along with iron-on transfers. The shirts, with shipping, cost us $31 and the transfers (10) cost $6.99 ($1 for the purchase on eBay, $5.99 for shipping). So, we'll have custom-made, personalized shirts for embarkation, that cost us less than $6.50 each!:woohoo: Now, let's cross our fingers that I can print up the transfers without any mishaps. I'll need 9 of the 10, so there's only room for a single error!

Heather---I too made shirts for boarding day. I am in the midst of making MNSSHP t's. Got shirts for the girls at Target on clearance (1.50) and then I have to print the iron-on. In my experience U can't use the transfers in a laser...I have asked even at printing companies. U can ask a printer if they have ink jet and they can print it or you can take the photo on flash drive and ask them to transfer it on...

I am taking a tally to see how many want to do the Margarita & tequilla tasting...it seems there are like 4 of us I know wanna do it and thought maybe who ever wanted to go could sit together and enjoy it as a group....just a suggestion. I know there are 3 of us who plan on prolly doing it barring any circumstances.

Hope everyone is doing well.... TTFN
