beansf--congrats on moving up to a veranda. You will love it! We had two cat. 6's our last cruise and loved them. I love to go out there in the morning and watch the ship pull into port, and every night before I go to bed I go out there and just watch to ocean and the stars, it's beautiful! We went with a cat. 7 this time, to save a little money. I'm anxious to see it I like it as much as the cat. 6.

One year from this very moment we will be getting ready to do the life boat drill. The kids will be dripping wet from spending a couple of hours in the pools, and our first drinks of the day will be kicking in. I can't wait!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks, dismom73. I got fished in on the verandah idea because of all these stories of people's happy times watching the sunset or reading a book from their verandah. I love to read and I typically wake up before my husband does, so I thought it would be a nice place for me to go in the morning. Although, with all the eating that goes on, I better get my behind on walking some laps on deck or hitting the gym! We are very excited about the food portion of the cruise!:)

Omg I year ......YEAH!!!!!! One year and I will board the boat and be screaming It's Mickey Mouse It's Mickey....Oyeah and the kids too. oops LOL

U will love the verandah. I loved it cause I used to wake at 3am sometimes and just sit out and watch as we cruised the seas. We found that the huge oceanview windows were fine especially since with 2 young girls we are not in there much but we definately have to have the view can't do an inside cabin. Been there done that , don't wanna go back...LOL But would for a cheap cruise...would settle right now if I could board.

Well hope everyone has a good weekend. Off to ride on the homecoming float w/girls. I'm involved in PTO so kids get to ride....hey actually I have to walk...well that hopefully will work off about 20lbs before the cruise. I hope anyhow.

For the love of DCL - we will be in Milan, OH. My SIL lives outside of Cleveland and we have some cousins from Missouri meeting us there (we are from MA). I anticipate us spending 2 days at Cedar Point.

DH just informed me that he isn't "into" the swimming with dolphins idea!?! Maybe I'll just do it and he can do something else. I don't know, now I have to rethink...

The turtle farm in GC is very cool and most kids will really enjoy it.

1 YEAR :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I just realized that the word "Year" will not appear on our countdown tickers tomorrow! :goodvibes

Hi everyone~ We just booked this cruise from our cruise last week. The double dip cruise was wonderful. :) We did the Dolphin Encounter in Chankanaab. It was a great experience for our entire family. :) we booked it on our own.

We just hung out at Margaritaville in the GC. their waterslide was a hit for our daughter.

Welcome Magic3forme! I wish we had been with you last week! Our last cruise was a DD and we loved it! Where in Ohio are you? We have a cruiser, Michelle (ForTheLoveOfDCL), she and her family are in Ohio too. How old are your kids?

we live in Medina Oh

My kids are
DD 10, DD 8, DS 5.

we booked a cat 6 and 11 for the next cruise. we were in cabin 8576 for the last cruise and our room was sooo noisy from being right below the Mickey pool.

Hi magic3forme. Welcome to our group:grouphug: Do you know what your cabin # is for this cruise? OUrs is 6608 and our friends is 6609. A cat 6 and cat 11. We are over the Buena Vista theater, so I hope it isnt too noisey. Hopefully we wont be in the room that much anyway.

So there is a waterslide at Margaritaville? Will it occupy the kids for a short time or can they spend most of the day there if you wanted to? I am so excited that we have less then a year to go.

I have to start looking into booking my airfare soon. I hope the prices still stay fairly reasonable. Michelle, are you still getting your great rate for flying to Orlando?

I hope everyone had a great weekend and I will chat with you soon!!

Magic3forme (Val), you said you just got off the double dip last week and I was wonderiing if you had met Tiffany (luvtheears)? She is my fish extender girl and she told me she was doing the double.

I met Tiffany!! :) She made pillowcases for us. They turned out so cute, especially with the signatures. :)

we are in rooms 6600,6601 and 6602. We booked 3 rooms for right now, my mom may or may not go with us and wanted a verandah. so we are neighbors. we went and looked at the location and the family was just coming out of the rooms. The son said you could hear movement from the theater, but it was only until 11pm. so we should be good. :)

We spent about an hour at Margaritaville. there is only one slide and a small pool to go with it. our 8 yr old had such a good time there. I even got in the water since it is was hotter than heck in the GC. I dont think you could spend all day there, but it was nice just to sit and relax and have a cold drink. I hear the sting ray excursion was really good too.

Is someone organizing fish extenders for this cruise? we had soo much fun with our f/es this cruise. :) Everyday our f/e was filled with fun treats and suprises.

How funny!! Tiffany made my pillowcases too. I have yet to meet her, but I chit chat with her through ebay all the time. Our group is doing the fish extender exchange. We just havent figured out the specifics yet. I am buying stuff now for the FE because I dont want to wait til the last minute and forget to buy something for someone:eek: .

We are neighbors...your cabin is just 3 doors down from ours. Thanks for the info for M'ville. I guess it is still something to do in case we dont do an excursion. I am sure my husband would probably want to stop there for a drink anyway.

Hiya Val...My name is Michelle. Welcome aboard to my fellow Ohio mates! I live in Sandusky or as most refer to it...The Rockin Roller Coast! My family was to be on that cruise but we ended up going in Feb with friends and cancelled that DD cruise. Though once the 26th hit we were kicking ourselves, wishing we were on board.

So how many cabins do you have for your FE? I am concerned on how much I am gonna have to pack or spend on it. I have seen some cute things but I don't know how many to get. and I would rather buy early. Did you guys do everyday or how did it work.? Speaking of Tiffany I have to email her and put in my FE order.

Val I am glad to see you too also booked your Dolphin encounter on your own. I am gonna do that too. They said the earlier I book the better discount ya get. My girls will be 9 & 5 at the time and they r excited to do it. I see if you book yourself my 5 yr old is free. I think the first time aval. is 1 pm. I really want earlier but that should be good, I mean explore or eat early lunch or late breakfast on ship, go to dolphins and head back. My kids love being on the ship in port because the pool isn't busy. Well any info U have will be great!!!
Thanks

We had 55 cabins for the f/es. about 15 or so were adults only. We said you could split the list if you wanted, but we gave to every cabin. The adult only cabins received different things. and we received a ton of stuff. The gifts took up almost an entire carry on suitcase. ( next cruise I am chaning what I am bringing for f/es so they pack better.) I got all kinds of good ideas. :thumbsup2

If you have 4 paying people for the Dolphin Encounter your cab ride is included. ( 15 dollars each way.) Our son was 5, free also. When we got there early we were asked if we wanted to go at 12 rather than 1. we said no since there was a whole group from our cruise. We enjoyed the park and their swimming pools. It was very clean and everyone was very friendly.
We didnt have to rush back because we stayed in port until 1am.

We havent taken the kids to Cedar point yet. ( we go to Kennywood in Pgh, there are no lines there.)

Robin my daughter is a Gabrielle too. ( she will be 11 though when we sail)

Val..U should have done CP today. Lines were no more then 15 mins unless U were waiting for Maverick or DrAGster, and even dragster was short compared to normal more like 30 mins. I have season passes so I never wait in those lines either.

Any FE ideas U are willing to share that U aren't useing? I know people say stickers, candy, etc...I am just trying to think of things that aren't to expensive but unique..Also did U give one gift per stateroom or per person which could be hundreds? I am trying to find things now so it doesn't cost so much.

It seems we leave port at 6:30pm, so I will go a bit early and hope they ask me like they did U. My husband might be doing the ruins so it might just be me and my girls. If there is 6 of us we have to take 2 sepereate cabs huh?

If you have 6 people can you book them all together? that way the taxi ride is free. we had a van that would have held atleast 8 people. :)

f/es ideas: this cruise needs a theme name. :) Our cruise was the Double dip delight, complete with a logo so we got a ton of stuff with the logo on it. also we had a lanyard team make everyone lanyards, so it was easy to spot someone from our group. :) here are some of the things we received ( pens, magnets, postcards, highlighters). other things we received, mini beach balls, more pens/pencils, rubber ducks, notepads, sharpies, highlighters, tons of glow sticks, candy, hot sauce from LA, containers with bandaids and hand wipes, hair clips, zip ties, safety pins and a nail file.). tote bag with a pirate on it, eye patches and lots of pirate stickers and tattoos.

some were very creative, mine wasnt that creative. :)

HI Welcome to our group!! How was Margaritaville? Was it fun to hang out at? Do they let you just hang at the pool if you say buy a drink or food, ?

Yes there are seats right by the pool. We bought our drinks at the bar and then went outside to the pool area. There is actually a person who works the slide, so it is very well controlled. We had fun just hanging out with our daughter there, and she felt special since we ordered her a "margarita". We didnt eat there, but the food looked great. The drinks are pricey though.
