I see they have Cat 12's but only if you have 3 people or less....Unfortunately my sister in law has her, DH, DD(4), and DD(1). So no Cat 12's.....dang! I was trying to switch her to cat 12 from an 11 to save her like $300 which could be her tips....anything to save a buck...LOL

Sorry, i was hoping that would help :) Maybe they will continue to offer the kids promotion.

Well, for those of you that don't stalk the disboards, not that I do or anything:rolleyes1, Disney just announced that the Wonder will be making its new home in Los Angeles starting in 2011. So it's looking like the first of the new ships, Disney Dream, will be taking over the 3/4 day route. :sad2: Which means for those of us addicted to the 7 day :rolleyes1 we will have to wait another year for Disney Fantasy to be on our route.

Has anyone noted that both "Western" and "Caribbean" are misspelled?

:scared1:

How funny! I've been on this thread for almost a year and I never noticed that! I think the only one who would be able to go back and edit/change it would be Tiggerfan who started the thread and I haven't seen them in a while.

I honestly never paid attention....I just saw Oct. 3, 2009 and thought ok thats me!!

Hope everyone had a good day. I just ran a few errands, had an eye doctor appointment and got some snazzy Donna Karens. I really only need them to drive and read the chalkboard(haha ok that was school) but anyhow I like em I think they are stylish so I may wear them more often!
Also took the time to do some research for my sister in law....she's job hunting cause she wants to maybe move here to our neck of the woods....I am excited about that possibility!

Ok off to Facebook it! TTFN

Hello Everyone,

Sorry it has been so long since I've posted. Things have been crazy around here. I hosted a bridal coffee here last Saturday morning and have spent the past few weeks spring cleaning, getting ready for the party. I've been going crazy at school, reviewing for SAT's this week. Even during our spring break, I never really slowed down.

I've tried to go back and catch up, but I know I've missed some things along the way.

Welcome to all of our newest cruisers. This bunch is a great group!!!

Teri, I am so sorry to hear about your flood. I went through the same thing when we returned from our cruise in October. Fight for new carpet and have them check for mold. Make sure the cut out a piece of sheet rock where the flooding was. We had the dehumidifiers as well as the fans for days. The final cost for repairs for us was between $20,000 and $25,000. Stand your ground and tell them you want your house back the same way it was before this happened.

I've started looking at flights, but still don't know if DS14 will be able to miss 2 football games or just 1. I am hoping we can miss 2, so we don't have to drive all night Friday night. I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I really don't want to chance flying in on Sat. morning. I love being at the port and being one of the first people in line to check in. I loved having a #2 boarding pass last time. It was worth the wait in line outside the port.

Well, I've got to get to bed. I promise not to stay away this time. I am so excited about this trip. I just wish it was this week and not 6+ months away.

Take care everyone!

Gena

For those who have been to Cozumel before, do you have any suggestions for shore activities, whether organized excursions or not? Also, anything to avoid?

We've been to Grand Cayman before, and plan on returning to Cemetery Reef for at least a while there, but Cozumel will be new.

Thanks!

I'm looking at joining this cruise, with the "Lucky Ducks" 50% off kids pricing, it's too good to pass up - I'd say we're about 85% committed at this point. My wife and I have 4 sons, 16, 11, 7, and 3. We cruised on the Magic on Dec 8th 2007, an Eastern itinerary. That was our first family cruise, and being so close to Christmas it was so very memorable. Our kids get very excited any time they see either my wife or I checking out Disney cruise specials and prices.

My question for you experts, I notice that in reading some of this already enormous thread, that some of you have cruised this time period in previous years... how has the weather been? Or Dec 8th cruise started pretty rough, we hit Olga, a very late tropical storm, and spent nearly two days with 30' seas. The pools and shows were all closed, and even a number of the staff were getting sea sick, and having troubles in the dining rooms. It was just a tiny bump in an otherwise magical time, and I'm just wondering if you've experienced it before?

Thanks, and I really hope to be officially joining the rolls of this group in the next couple of days.

Jason

Hi everyone. I am not cruising with you guys (even though I would love to bc it falls on my birthday!) but I wanted to share this calendar with you. I just personalized it for someone on your cruise and I figured I would share a blank one with all of you. I left a space on the top where you can put your family name or something. Here it is just incase you wanted to use it.

HI Gena, welcome back! I'm glad to see you back. And welcome Jason and family ( your boy count would really boost our group of kids which is outnumbered by girls) , hopefully you guys will be able to join us. I haven't cruised in Oct. before, our last DC was in November '06, the weather was great! But that's not huricane season, so you can't really compare. My DH and I did cruise in Sept. of '98 (long time ago) it was during Hurricane George and the seas were a little rough, but not unbearable. But, that was a long time ago...
Brooklyn...Thank you so much for posting the calender, it's adorable! I know I'll be printing one up for our door, I'm sure a few others will as well. That was very thoughtful of you!
Well, I ordered our swing set yesterday. That will add to our Disney $$ balance! There's another drink of the day for me :cool1: I should try and post some pictures (before and after) of our yard, don't hold your breath though, I'm not so good at loading them onto the computer, I'll have to wait until Ashley can do it (teenagers are good for something ;) )
Well, I hope everyone has a great day!

Andrea

Hi Gena!!!!

Brooklyn I got ur PM about dining and that was what I was told a few months back so I will make a call too and find out if anything is new and let ya know what I find out!

As far as October cruising this will be our 3rd cruise in October. We have cruised in feb and seas were rough then but in October it was nice...you take the chance of Hurricane weather but we have always been lucky. October was nicer then Feb, I have never had a problem but I guess its all a chance! I am confused though...the 50% doesn't go till October yet right?

Oh good news, I never win anything! But last night someone from our school PTO called and I won a nikon 10mp digital camera!! Woohoo.....we have a nice canon but it's bulkier and this one is A thinner one. yeah another camera for the cruise!!! Ok that was my good news! TTFN

Stephanie,
you had me all confused for a minute. I thought I was on the wrong thread. I love the graphic.

Michelle -

I made the res on 3/23 and made the deposit yesterday (3/28). Now we're planning what to do in the ports.

We're more of the "on our own" types rather than ones who book onto group excursions. The exception was when I did the SCUBA excursion in Nassau on our Wonder cruise in May 08.

I dove in Cayman years ago, and hear that Cozumel is also spectacular, but everything is a trade-off, right? Do I abandon my wife in port to go diving, or use the time strolling with her and doing new things?

Earl (and Jane)
Wonder 3/08
Magic 10/09

Oh definitely abandon her, she can go shopping with mine who will also I suspect be abandoned in favour of some bird watching

Is anyone else going to the parks before and after the cruise? We are. We are doing MNSSHP on Thursday so I can make a couple of my ADR's tomorrow:banana: Have a great Friday Everyone!

You called this wrong. There is nothing in the world that will convince me to even consider going shopping in Cozumel. That is what the Florida Mall is for. I heard that compared with Cozumel, Nassau is positively harmless. There is dolphins to be had in Cozumel though. So abandon away. I will go and make some watery friends.

We (or should I say I) will head to the parks after the cruise. We will get to Orlando three days before the cruise, but will either do none Disney stuff (Florida Mall, maybe Seaworld) or head over to the Gulf Coast for a couple of days to visit friends.

I just realized that we are doing the exact same cruises! This one and the trans. How crazy is that?

6 months from this exact moment we will be sitting in the port terminal (with our number 2 boarding pass :goodvibes) waiting for our number to be called so we can walk down that gang plank and get on our home away from home :cool1:.
I thought that sounded more exciting than 6 months to go...
Well, the girls and I are headed to San Diego tomorrow for a few days and then coming home for a couple then the whole family is going to Nevada for Easter weekend to visit my in-laws so I probably wont be on too much over the next week. I hope everyone has a nice Easter. When I get back we will only have 5 months 3 weeks to go.
