Oct 3, 2009 Wester Carribean

Due to some changes at work. we moved from the 10/24 cruise back to this one. I promise this will be the last time we move.

Just to fill you in-My name is Annette (39) and I will be traveling with my Dsis Amanda (41 at time of sailing). We are from Lansing MI. This will be our 7th cruise with DCL.

Look forward to getting to know all of you.

Annette :)

Welcome (back) Annette! :cool1:

Corinna, I'm sure your transfer will work out fine. It's good to know that there are plenty of flights, but I'm sure you wont need them. All will go as planned. :thumbsup2

Michelle, You are moving right along...It looks really good. I can't wait to see it with the pictures up!

We still have a lot to do also. The only thing that is done is the rental car for both ends and the hotel for the night before. Well, I do have my FE, just nothing to put in everyone elses. I do also have new jammies for everyone (well I will once my Disney box arrives) but I still have to do passports for the rest of the fam, Ashley needs an entire dining room wardrobe. Being 15 everything she owns is denim, I need to figure out our post cruise plans, and I have a lot of clothes shopping to do. But I figure I'll get that done towards the end of summer when stuff is on clearance. So what I'm going to focus on in the the immediate future is passports, and then go from there. I'm also checking daily to see if Disney is offering the airline employee discount for our sailing. Right now they are up to the Sept 5th sailing. They are offering the discount for most of the weeks during the summer, which means they aren't filling the ships. So, I'm sure they'll offer it for our sailing, I just hope they do it before the paid in full date (which is fast approaching) because after that, I can't make any changes. If we can get the discount it will be like we're paying for one cabin instead of two, so that will help A LOT!
Well, I'm off to drop kids off at school. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Welcome back Annette and Amanda!! Annette, I honestly forget cause of trying to keep all the info straight for everyone. Were u guys participating in the FE or SM? Late/Early dining? And any other info u wanna share...ie- photo, cabin number, etc

Thanks Andrea---I really like the results but everytime I sit in my LR and look into the FR I start singing in my head "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse come inside...blah blah blah blah!" I am excited to get my prints on the wall but I think i should wait a week or so for it to cure! I still have to paint the bottom white and do the yellow again but I swear I am so tired lately....I think I need to go to the dr's for a vit b-12 shot....Well I am off to climb under the electric blanket and catch 20 mins of closing my eyes. I will ttl

Good Morning all,

I haven't been on in awhile, between work and this mess that our flood caused, I've been busy. The repairs are going kind of slow. We've picked out paint, lights, carpet and tile but the contractors have only finished the drywall and the painting. Oh well I guess I can't expect it to me done overnight. :confused3

Michelle - I like the painting you are doing, it looks really good! :thumbsup2 That's a big job huh?

Have any of you ever made t-shirts using the iron on transfers? Can you print those out on a regular color printer? I've never tried it but am thinking that I might attempt it. What do you think?

Everyone have a good weekend.

Terri

Terri---Thanks the room was a big paint job, I just put my room together....not much down there...the Wii, the computer, the kids comp, DVD cabinet(mostly Disney) and a picnic table for the kids to do crafts at or I pull into the dining room for parties! I am eager to get my disney photos, & prints on the wall. The frames won't all be black for awhile cause I can't afford to replace them all right now but they will be up soon!

As for the t-shirt transfers, the only printer U can't use is laser. I made my grandma one using the dark transfers though and my mom said it's cracking.....any suggestions from anyone??? I have used the white ones before and no problems but this was my first using the dark transfers. Application is a bit different.

Well nothing much else new here. Just been shopping for Easter. I have my nieces and nephew to buy for too. I make them all baskets. And my nieces that are cruising with me , may wake up here Easter Morning so I have to make sure they have just as many baskets to find as mine do. We don't do much candy...more stuff like littlest pet shops, sunglasses, flip flops, a movie, new undies...(lol) , Etc. More like Christmas just not as large of items.

Well everyone have a great Sunday! TTFN

We (my wife and I, empty-nesters) just booked the 10/3 sailing on a Cat 12 guarantee. This is our second Disney cruise, having done the 4-night Wonder in May '08 (Cat 10) with our two adult kids. We're looking forward to just taking it easy, enjoying each day, and I, for one, look forward to booking a massage in the spa!

Earl did U guys wanna be involved in our FE? Any info U would like to know about this bunch or photos of us...etc are all on our web page(link located in my signature)

:welcome: on board.

Michelle -

I made the res on 3/23 and made the deposit yesterday (3/28). Now we're planning what to do in the ports.

We're more of the "on our own" types rather than ones who book onto group excursions. The exception was when I did the SCUBA excursion in Nassau on our Wonder cruise in May 08.

I dove in Cayman years ago, and hear that Cozumel is also spectacular, but everything is a trade-off, right? Do I abandon my wife in port to go diving, or use the time strolling with her and doing new things?

Unsure If you misunderstood me. I wasn't asking if you wanted to do any group excursions....I was asking if you wanted to partake in our FE(fish extender) It's where u hang something from your fish outside ur stateroom door and everyone in the thread who is participating puts something in it so normally U find daily trinkets and u do the same for the rest of the participating group. The only group thing we have set up is to meet each other Sat at 3pm just to say Hi welcome aboard and then there will be football on sun/mon night for those wanting to sit together....maybe a wifes nt.....nothing that means any commitment just showing up if you want. The only thing that requires commitment is if u participate in the FE.

I understood you... and I apologize for causing confusion.

I just started rambling at the keyboard as to where my mind is wandering now regarding activities, excursions, etc.! We'll give the FE some thought. Any concerns about hurricanes, cruising in October?

Earl

:grouphug:Welcome Earl. It is great to have you onboard!!

Michelle I like the painting that you have done. It really is classic disney. Cant wait to see it finished.

Work has been crazy, so that is why I havent been on here lately. I will have to read back a few pages so I can catch up.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Oh, Corrina I know you were asking for favorite colors awhile back. Did I ever get back to you???? If not, purple is the color.:goodvibes

We just switched last week. Orginially we booked at Cat 11, that was the lowest category available at the time. I checked the DCL site the next day and there was 12's available. So we called and switched. No problem. I know that there are less than 12 actual cat 12 cabins available, so they use that as the opening price point to get you in. A lot of people have reported being upgraded from that category. Fingers crossed but just happy to be sailing even if I had to sleep in a lifeboat :)

When we sailed on the Wonder last year, we booked Cat 10, which we thought was very nice, for an inside room. For those who have booked Cat 12 and been upgraded, how many categories did DCL upgrade you to? Should I dream about a large window? :goodvibes

Welcome Earl!! I know we are getting closer because we are starting to get new people more frequently. :cool1:
The biggest jump in upgrade that I've read about is a cat. 12 to cat. 6. Which is a nice upgrade! Here's to hoping all of you cat. 12 people get a nice upgrade! :thumbsup2
I'm still waiting for them to post the airline employee discount for our sailing. I'm hoping if and when they do we'll be able to keep our same cabins. That way we can keep our connecting cat. 7's and stay close to my DB and his fam and Terri and her fam. ;)
Bailey was dreaming about the cruise the other night and woke up thinking we were leaving to go that day. Needless to say, there was a minor meltdown when I convinced her that we weren't actually leaving that day (I wont tell you if the meltdown came from me or Bailey :rotfl:).

Anyone else get airfare lately? I know they are starting to release our dates, so I was just curious if anyone else has gotten a good deal.

We usually get our airfare from 120 to 90 days from our departure date. We found that it is less expensive that way.

I see they have Cat 12's but only if you have 3 people or less....Unfortunately my sister in law has her, DH, DD(4), and DD(1). So no Cat 12's.....dang! I was trying to switch her to cat 12 from an 11 to save her like $300 which could be her tips....anything to save a buck...LOL
