Ok Good Morning all.....:wave2: yes Robin I am here posting just for you!!! :goodvibes

Ok well I guess I jumped the gun by cancelling right away without checking my options:upsidedow and we are trying to get back on the boat. I am getting the $$$numbers for a cat 12 for us...yes a downgrade from an oceanview but we have done an inside before and honestly besides looking out in the morning, I dont think I will miss it. And Andrea has informed me that the cat 12 only house 3 anyhow so they will have to put us in an 11 and maybe if we are lucky they will give us an oceanview upgrade. But anyhow Del and I are talking about it and if we do it it will be this weekend...so I will have an answer......I really wanna go cause I can't imagine my first FE experience without all of you!!! And of course Robin I have to try your drink of the day....LOL:p Unfortunately if we go we wont be doing excursions...but hey better on the boat then not at all.:thumbsup2 Ok well I hope you have a good day and I hope I will be back with good news!!!!

Thanks for all your support!:grouphug:

Well, I found out we could save $940 if we went from two cat. 7's to two cat. 9's. So I am torn. Ryan, my DH, doesn't want to give up the veranda, but that's a lot of money. If you take away the $200 in onboard credit we would also loose, that's over $700 we could save. That's $100 day for a veranda. I guess I will wait until we get our taxes done to see what happens there.

When we booked the first cruise, DH insisted on a port hole so we booked a category 9. The cruises that we ended up booking was a back up. We had originally wanted the 5 night special cruise on the Magic, but that was fully booked when we booked our cruise in November 2007.

In May this became available again and I had just gotten a nice bonus. So I offered that I would pay for us to do this cruise as well, but only a category 11. He jumped on this. After we had done both cruises, we discussed how we felt about the respective cabins. DH admitted that he liked having the port hole, but that this does not justify the extra cost. For the next two cruises we have booked a category 11 and I at least would be seriously miffed if we got upgraded. We do not spent much time in the cabin anyway. I loved going up to deck 9 early in the morning, get a cup of coffee, breathe the lovely clean sea air and watch the sunrise and get a glimpse of the port. We never did this on the second cruise and I really missed this.

Do the maths with your DH and together have a think about what else you could do with the money saved. Talk about alternatives. As I said, deck 9 in the morning or even in the evening is wonderful. There is comfy chairs on deck 4 and then there is the secret deck area on deck 7. Ask yourself and more importantly ask DH how much time you actually anticipate spending in your cabin or on your veranda and then see if this makes good use of your money.

I'm praying Michelle! :) If it's any consolation, the first cruise for us we did a Cat 12 and the only time we found ourselves in the room for any period of time was to sleep. :) And, although we upgraded to an oceanview room this time, the only reason for that was because my grandmother left me some money so we were able to splurge. HOWEVER, it looks like we probably won't do any excursions either unless my father-in-law decides we are. So, although we'll get off the boat to walk around and check out the places we're stopping at, we'll be doing just the boat this time too.

Here's to a great weekend for you and that you make the correction (hee hee) decision to get back on the boat.

As for all of us, we're finally looking like we're getting over the bugs in our house. :) My bronchitis is almost gone, Katelin's stuffy nose is also almost gone and Lil has avoided any asthma issues from her cold. So we're doing pretty good if you ask me. :) We're gearing up for a very busy weekend (two parties on Saturday as well as a dinner date tomorrow night and a lunch date in Maryland on Sunday after church) so I won't be getting on the board often.

Take care all! Kristi

I did not do any shore excursions on our two cruises last year. We had two excursions booked for Castaway Cay (one for each cruise) and they were both cancelled. I ended up just renting a tube for the first day and had a wonderful time. On the first cruise, we just had a walk around Nassau for an hour or so and on the second cruise I opted to stay on the ship on Nassau day and had a wonderful time.
For our cruise, the only place I would even consider doing an excursion is Cozumel. Key West we will just explore at our own pace and if I am brave enough to get on the tender boat at Grand Cayman, we will explore that under our own steam as well. I am one of those people who would be quite happy if they would just put the Magic in the middle of the ocean somewhere and just sail around in circles. For me the draw is the ship and not the ports (with the exception of Castaway Cay).

Yeah Michelle I hope you can get back on the boat!!!!! Let me know what happens cuz I already have Matt picking up those applications for a second job!!!:rotfl2: I told him he might have to work at Burger King and send his paycheck to you for the cruise. Keep us posted...I will have my fingers crossed!!!

o well shoot if Matt's getting a second job...I will just sit back and relax!:cool1: I am gonna go to AAA tomorrow and chat with our agent. So I hope I can say yes tomorrow for sure.

This thread better pick up---where is everyone? We have like 25 families and only like 5 report on here regularly. Hmmm I hope you all are more fun on the boat:confused3 :confused3

Maybe Andrea, Robin and I are the only Disney planning freaks!!:drive: ::yes::

Hey I'm here too! I've just been super busy at work, had a server crash and worked late the last two nights...:crazy2:

Just ask Andria, she's turning me into a planning freak too. I had all my questions written down last night when she dropped off Amaya and I even got her ok on a dress that I bought last year for a wedding to wear for formal night. :thumbsup2

I haven't though much about excursions yet other than I want to rent bikes at CC and I would really like to do the Dolphin encounter but that is some $$$. Do any of you do the wine tasting or anything like that on sea days? I thought that sounded fun. :cheer2:

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Michelle ::yes::

I hope you get this worked out! I don't think we are planning to do any excursions either. We could change our mind but if we do it will on our own. Last year, I got clearance floats at Walmart and took them for Castaway Cay. That way we didn't have to rent floats. Every little bit helps. We are in 2 inside cabins too! I think you can have just as much fun inside cabin or outside as long as you are on the boat!

I am here too, just have been busy! We are still on the fence with this cruise! dh has been saving hotel/airline miles for Hawaii. Well we found out he has enough points for 7 nights in Hawaii. so Hawaii may be in our cards this year. :)

Ok this is hard to type-----------

My family and I may still be in Florida in October but we WILL NOT :sad1: be on this cruise. OMG I said it. I can't even watch the DCL commercials. I am so upset about it but I am trying to come to terms with it. I guess I will have to save my FE for a 2011 cruise. Unless we have a rich uncle die and get loads of money...well I can't see us going. If anyone wants to take over the web page and FE organization let me know. I will dream that I am on with all of you...I will hover over watching and waiting for ur trip reports! :coffee: Ok thats all I got today!:sad2:

Michele, I have been out of the loop for awhile and hadn't gone back and read the past postings.I am so sorry to hear that you can't go. Was looking forward to meeting the person who put all her heart and soul into this group!
I know we too are trying to scrimp and save for the cruise, hoping we can still go, they just had major layoffs at my company, and business is still way down so you never know. Please let us know if there is something you wanted from one of the ports , will be glad to pick it up and ship it to you.! Thanks again for all your hard work, maybe your luck will turn !! :wave2:

Michele, guess i posted before seeing you still may go!! Hope things work out for you alot or us may be skipping excursions. well good luck!!

It sounds like we have a bunch of really encouraging people on here. Someway some how we will all get there. I just know it. Everyone start saving those pennies.:cheer2:

Michelle,
i'm about to get a new home computer so you'll start seeing me in the evenings again. YEAH!!!:cool1:

We did the Dolphin Encounter in Cozumel. It was soo much fun, it was the big highlight for all 5 of us.
I heard the sting ray excursions at both GC and Coz were great.

we just hung out in GC at Margaritaville, there is a free water slide.

I'm thinking we will be hitting the waterslide in Margaritaville. OK, the kids will, I'll be hitting the Margaritas! At this point we have no excursions on the agenda. Our last two Disney cruises we didn't take any, and we still had the time of our lives!
Well, the working out seems to be working. So far I've lost a little over 6 pounds. :cool1:

We will also hit the Margaritaville waterslide but our bill last time was so expensive about $100 for nachos, 2 kids meals and 2 or 3 margaritas. We will have to keep a closer eye on that this time! The kids loved the slide.

Ok so AAA is handling everything and I am waiting to hear my damage so I can take and pay it now with taxes so it will be paid for and I will be ready to go.

We were looking into the GC waterslide too. Well if we all meet there it will be the Disney Dreamers taking over Margarittaville....YEAH!!! Umm if a bunch of us are going ,,,,how big is this place cause I am sure it won't be only us

Marianne---thank you for even thinking of asking if there was anything I was looking for at the ports....that was so sweet

U all have been so supportive!

You all have me sold on GC Margaritaville...we'll be there too. I just looked it up and it looks really nice! Does anyone know how far it is from the port? (I guess I could have looked that up too)

Terri
