Oct 3, 2009 Wester Carribean

No pity party needed and I won't trade either. I do get confused though as does DH. He asked me the other day if Kristi will be on both of our cruises. I just looked at him. He was absolutely convinced that she had been posting about going to Vietnam on our Transatlantic cruise meet thread. I did a similar thing when I thought that somebody was doing two Western Caribbean cruises very close together and then I realised that I was on the Transatlantic cruise thread and they were doing a Western Caribbean cruise in fall of 2009 as well. I suppose all those graveyard shifts are addling my brain. I have 5 days of graveyard shift left (plus some days of in between) and then I switch onto earlies after nearly a month of graveyard shifts. I really do not even want to consider this at the moment. Fortunately the first of the earlies is Christmas Day, which should be a really quiet day at work.

Corinna: you are on the TA with a bunch of my double dip friends! I wish we could be on that cruise, but 2 weeks out of school for the kids is a bit much! :) Sign up to get a lanyard, Erik made awesome ones for the DD in Sept! and Erik changes the pictures on his door every day. Kimberly is awesome too! (and Amy/Dave/Hadley...you get the point!)

There seem to be some wonderful people on that cruise. There are a few people that were on the September 1st 5 night special cruise on the Magic with us and one family that were supposed to sail with us on the September 7th cruise on the Wonder, but had to change dates at the last minute. Even though we have never met in person, they do feel like old friends.

I will definitely sign up for the lanyards in the new year. We had lanyards for our cruise on the Magic this year and loved wearing them. It was great to see just how many Disers were on that cruise. I saw yellow lanyards everywhere.

I hope that Hadley and her family will make the cruise. They are probably moving to Germany quite close to where I grew up and in Germany it is against the law to take kids out of school during term time. Having been an elementary school teacher myself in the past (but after moving to the UK), I think that German kids are deprived of so many opportunities. Especially on a cruise like this, between the educational activities in the kids clubs, the international crew and the many diverse places that we get to see, the kids that go will probably learn more during the cruise than they would in two weeks in the classroom.

Val---I stalk your DD thread every now and again..oops gave myself away. We were supposed to be on that one and then switch to Feb to go with friends. I loved cruising regardless but could kick myself for missing the DD. We were booked and everything and just transferred our deposit to Feb. Stupid me!! Actually I will admit I got the landyard idea from seeing a TR with Nenner(I thinks) baby with it on. I thought thats better then making shirts and easier. I like the FE too. Tiffany is so talented.

Corinna --I looked at booking that TA, but just like Val worried about 2 weeks gone. and Sydney has Nationals for Dance in Ocean City that year. I can't swing a week there and a cruise. We are hoping that 2011/2012 will offer something great. As much as I would love to take the new ships, I have a feeling it will be expensive! I really would love to do Hawaii or Alaska...Hmm any ideas of where they may go??

Well I am working on some magnets....Printing the ones I will reuse on magnet paper and some that the kids wanted that won't reuse just laminating and useing stick magnets. I need 2 doors I have so many magnet ideas.
No one commented on my other lanyard thought...I take it everyone just wants to stick with the mickey cloud one right? Ok well off to print....have fun

Good Morning everyone! Well, it's morning here anyway. There's a lot of you guys on today! I too looked into the WB TA, the prices were really good for that long of a cruise, but our girls would have to miss close to three weeks of school, with travel time and Ashley would be a Junior HS, so it wasn't really an option. I also considered how much tips would be for 5 of us on that long of a cruise :scared1: .
Michelle, you have been busy on the website, there's lots of info on there! I know we've all said it before, but thank you so much for doing that. And yes, you were right :rolleyes1 , I like the first one better (design). I figured I would let others speak up so I wouldn't have to be the bad guy. Please don't hate me! I do appreciate all your effort! I'm just partial to the Mickey cloud:cloud9: .

Michelle, I forgot to say...I LOVE your FE. I think I'm going to order ours today. Hopefully we will get it by Christmas :confused3 .

Andrea - I like the first one too. I am just having a hard time...I want to write our names on the bottom but it's really not big enough.....Well I guess that's the point of putting the green mickey ears on the reverse side. I think I am writing the girls names on those.

I thought of something else to make for the girls on the thread...the boys are hard for me....I mean at least for the ideas I have...they won't care for them. I will just have to hit the craft store after xmas when things aren't so tight and get some ideas for them. I would ask those with boys but then you would know what I was doing... shoot I have changed my mind 2 many time. LOL

Michelle - Our room # is 6632 and the two other in our party are in room #6628. They will not be participating in FE but we will. Also we have the early sitting for dinner. I have been reading all the posts trying to keep up with everything that I should be doing to get ready for the cruise. Plus I have Andria who I'm bombarding with questions all the time. I will send you a family picture after the first of the year, we're spending New Years at Disneyland!

Andria - Thank you for fixing my ticker. :)

Michelle I love your fish extender. It is the exact same thing as mine except my husband has a pirate bandana on instead of the cruise hat. Same fagbirc too. I love it!! Tiffany is really great. I also got the pillowcases.

We would love to rebook onboard and do another cruise, but not the TA as my son would be in college. Who knows...we will see what is out there when we are on the cruise.

I also like the first design better for the lanyard. But whatever everyone decides, I am fine with:)

I just thought I would give everyone a weather update, it is COLD here. It's says it's 39, but with the windchill feels like 31. I don't know about you northerners, but that is COLD! It's actually been snowing in some areas close by, not here though, the kids are praying for it. Poor Riley, every year when she writes to santa she asks for it to snow here. She just may get it this year! It has never snowed in their lives at our house. The hills by where we live have gotten a dusting once or twice. It's funny cuz it's all over the news. People are sending in pictures of their little tiny snowmen. Anyway, just thought I would let everyone know.

Norma---I think everyone likes the first design...they just prolly were being nice as to not say anything. Ok Ok enough about it...I wish I had the software to work with but I am limited. Blah!!! LOL

Well I did it again, went to the gym. Twice in one week--I'm on a roll. I even jogged this time--well it was more like a trot, but my arms and legs were moving at the same time! All this talk about formals has motivated me. Now I have to go to Sams club to pick up the rest of our Christmas cards--they only gave us half of what we ordered--so I think I will reward myself with a piece of Pizza :thumbsup2 . Hey, like I said about the meatballs, I would have gotten a piece of pizza anyway!

Michelle Your fish extender looks great!! Dontcha just love Tiffanys work?! I want her to make me a new one but Matt says just stick with the one we have.

My airfare went down for the flight I am on with Delta and so I called to see if they would credit my card the difference. Low and behold...they dont do that anymore. I told the reservationist that I was told I could get a credit and she said..."yea...NO". Man that is a bummer. Granted it is only a $45.00 difference, but that would pay for 3 peoples luggage!!! MAN:headache:

How much luggage do u all take? am I the only one that takes a ton?? let's see I take a Garment bag(Del's suit, our formal dresses)(most other dresses I have been taking are that material thats out now that U can mash up and it doesn't wrinkle.) ok and a large suitcase of dinner wardrobe, a large suitcase of day clothing, a med suitcase of shoes..toiletries..hair stuff...meds(thats alot..anyone gets sick call me I bring it all)...and anything else that will fit. Then a carry for hotel&airplane and a carry on for cruise day(stuff to make gift bags for girls, door magnets, ) not sure wear FE's will fit. Ok so that's like 4/5 checked pieces and 2 carry ons...o boy i will have to cut down on it. Maybe just take suits and cover up for 2 sea days and castway cay... WOW

Well, I know that everyone in my group will have a carryon. The girls and my things will fit in one carry on and Matt will have his carryon amd the other 2 carryons will have the FE and SM gifts. Then I beleive we will each have our own suitcase. I havent packed yet but I will try to consolidate. We will see if that happens:confused3

We took 5 checked bags and 5 carry on type bags. We came home with a bag less, after all the toss out clothes, the fe's, the sand toys.

Dh did not take a suit this past cruise. ( we did Palo on formal night.) and on semi formal night ( our local dry cleaners gave him the wrong shirt... but we didnt know this until semi formal night.) needless to say no dressing up for him that night either. ;) Our Steeler jerseys take up a bunch of room too.

Next year we will be driving, so who knows how much luggage we will take, I am an overpacker!!! We will be able to bring back alcohol though. ;)

I didnt print my door signs until 2 weeks before the cruise! dh actually did them.
