Oct. 2nd 4 night Wonder

Can my boys (4 & 7) wear nice shorts, a button down shirt and sandals (not flip-flops)to dinner? I know that the rest of us can't and am planning accordingly.

I have tried to search the DISBoards for the answer and I can't find any information. I guess I am not putting in the right keywords.

Thanks

Last time my girls were close to that age and they wore summer dresses and sandals for dinner. It was a 7 night cruise then and they only got all dressed up for the 2 special nights. A lot of the other kids were doing the same. They are so young, you want to make sure they are confortable and able to enjoy dinner. :) and not :( or  or

ck99c02, opinions vary on late vs. early dining for children. It's probably about 60-40 or 65-35 in favor of early dining. We had early dining on our 7-night cruise last year and this worked well for us. Our kids are 10 & 7 (so 9 and 6 then).

Some say kids are more awake for the early shows in the evening. Personally, I think my kids would be so hungry and grumpy that they wouldn't enjoy the shows if we didn't eat first. Our kids were wide awake for all the shows last time and they're good sleepers.

Others that prefer late dining say that they don't feel rushed from coming back from an excursion to get showered and dressed for dinner. But I guess you'd have to rush anyway if you wanted to catch that evening's show.

Even if we didn't have kids, I think my wife and I would prefer early dining any way. The kids aren't the only ones who get grumpy when they're hungry! :rolleyes1

Lastly, I hear from others on the boards that their kids prefer to stay in the Oceaneer's Lab/Club and eat with the other kids, but our kids never wanted to miss eating in one of the restaurants.

We have late dining this time and are wait-listed for early dining. If they don't switch us before we board, we'll go to Guest Services and see if they can move us. If not, hey, we'll get over it! Late dining on a Disney Cruise still means we're on a Disney Cruise!!! And where else would you rather be? :boat:

The October 6 launch has been postponed to November.... :( Those boys at NASA can't get anything done on schedule. I should have known.. :badpc: Oh well, that just means we'll get to DD sooner!

I think I am going to have to stop watching the news, esp. the weather reports. FOX News has mentioned that there are 2 possible developments, one of which is just southeast of FL, south of the Bahamas, right where Rita and Ophelia started. They said it could develop within the next week.... I so hope they are wrong! Local weather has not mentioned it yet ( I live in Daytona Beach), but they usually wait until they know for sure.....

I hate Hurricane Season. I just want to go on my cruise, have fun, and not worry about my house! Arghhhh! pirate:

Ok, got that off my chest.

Ok, local news just called it Tropical Moisture that will be moving across the state of FL midweek. She stressed the word moisture and that it was not a depression!

Feeling a little better now and I will not watch FOX News anymore!

As of 0300 (10pm Central Sunday) UTC Monday September 26, 2005, the National Hurricane Center is reporting there is NO tropical activity in the Atlantic Basin. There were 2 areas yesterday. They were gone this morning. Look Here

Looks like there's a storm in the central caribbean that could develop further once it hits the western caribbean.

Let's just hope it keeps moving west...

Yup, I saw that. I think they said it would be headed for the gulf. Bad news for those on the gulf side. Looks like FL will be getting some rain near the end of the week. I might pack some rain gear for the kids just in case...

Hey, we are probably watching the same news since you are in Orlando. We used to live in Longwood before moving to Port Orange, by Daytona.

Hey Stefanie---small world--we live in Longwood! Long range forecast estimate 40-50% chance of rain this weekend.

We are almost all packed except for me! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Is anyone else as distracted at work as I am? :confused3

All I can think about is the cruise! :Pinkbounc

All I can say is, our firewall at work blocks out "message boards"......

BigRed: Where have I been??? :hyper: ...shopping for my cruise! :rotfl2: I've been to the mall twice this week (that would be Sunday and Monday) and need to go at least one more time. At least there are lots of sales this time of year (going broke saving money). DS is going to do this :earseek: when he sees the bills :rolleyes1

Still had not received my docs so I called AllSeasons on Saturday. They sent them out on the 15th but they were returned to them on Friday. Apparently, all mail over a certain amount of ounces (I have 2 rooms so the Docs could be somewhat heavy), must be presented to a postal clerk - a new security thing. Hopefully they will be here by Wednesday (fedex) but we don't leave until Saturday so I have some time left.

5 more days until vacation, I can hardly wait :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: ...let the party begin!

Been too busy with the kids to really do any serious packing yet, but I did write out a list!

Can't wait til Sunday!!!!!!  :earseek:
