Oct. 2nd 4 night Wonder

Wow, you all are really organized...don't leave until Saturday but I will be packing Friday night (ok maybe Saturday morning  ) Our Docs finally arrived yesterday so I still gotta fill those out too.

Jamie: We stayed at the Ron Jon last year...it is very nice (beautiful pool) and the indoor playground and mini golf for the kids were a big hit. See if they have a room available that overlooks the channel where the ships come in and out, got to see the Magic come into port last year at 4:30 or 5:00 am...brought tears to my eyes.

Just in case I don't have time to post again...everyone have a safe trip to the port...see you on Sunday :jumping1:

So you got off Friday?

Yeah, I told Mrs. Mary on Monday that I was going to be feeling kind of sick on Friday  ....she said if I could find a sub:teacher: , I could take the day! :cool1:

I have the best boss! :earsgirl:

Call us when you get to the Radisson!

Hi, fellow DIS cruisers. I'm usually over on the Community and VMK Boards, but I did read the first few pages of this thread and thought I better chime in. I'll be on this cruise with DH in room 7130. A friend and his daughter will also be on the cruise. Fifteenth trip to WDW for me, but first cruise :boat:. I'm part of the Ebert/Roeper deal, so for now I am kinda confused on exactly how our schedule will work. I'll figure it out for sure when we board :p.

Anyway - here's a pic of me and DH. I've met tons of DISers in real life and would love to meet some of you. So if you see me, please get my attention by saying some thing like "Hi, DIS" :wave2:.

Welcome KristaTX! Not much time to talk, we are leaving Friday afternoon for south Georgia. Read back a few pages if you have time, and you'll know where and how to find us on the ship or at the port. We'll keep an eye out for you also. Safe travels to everyone, and see you at the port!

BTW, congrats ebmouse on #400!!!!, you caught me sleeping!! :rotfl2:

Congrats, ebmouse!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

See you all soon! Take care, everyone!

One last check of the weather and it all looks clear in the Caribbean. Now we just have to dodge the ever present pop-up thunderstorms. :umbrella:

It's been great "meeting" you all. See you on the Wonder!!! pirate: :boat:

just printed our swa boarding passes for saturday! :cool1:

it's been so much fun getting to know everyone, i know it'll be even better to meet in person. :) thanks for counting down with me. hope everyone has a safe trip to fl.

 Headed out in about 30 - 45 minutes! Everyone have a safe trip and see you Saturday or Sunday!

We made it to the Radisson!  :Pinkbounc :cheer2:  Lets go to Grills! :earboy2:

Just back from Grills. The Magic left on schedule at 5pm with several large "shipping containers" on deck 10. There were 25 or 30 people on deck 5 and all of the furniture was gone off the verandahs..It was sad :sad1:..they wouldn't even blow the Mickey Horn.. :sad1: Oh well, it will be all better tommorrow. :teeth: :Pinkbounc :rotfl2: Later,
Allen

Well, unfortunately, I didn't run into everybody on the ship. So I still have magnets for several people. If you would like to still like to have your magnets, pm or e-mail me using the link in my signature with name, address, disboard name, etc., and I will mail them, which I should have done to start with. Anyway, come join us on the Oct. 7 2006 thread titled "The Warm-up Act" for our 7 day Magic cruise next year. It's been fun!!!! Hope to see everyone soon!
Allen

BTW, its quite possible that we scooped the "Double Scoop Group"!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc From the info i'm getting, :teacher: the Wonder has never stopped at Castaway Cay twice on the same cruise!! :rolleyes1 We did a first, :earboy2: maybe!

Allen--thanks for the magnet. I see you're on the 10/7/06 Magic--we booked the week before, the 9/30/06 Eastern--kids school break week. Have fun!

It was nice meeting some of you. Unfortunately, it rained not once, but twice on our Castaway Cay day(s)--making it 3-for-3 for us since it rained on our CC day on our 10/2004 cruise. Oh well--at least we got a little snorkeling in this time! If you don't want rain on your CC day, I suggest you avoid the 9/30/06 Eastern cruise!! :rotfl: :umbrella:

Highlights: Servers Donovan & Halide (sp?) We don't drink and they didn't try to force alcohol/wine on us each night (unlike our last Magic cruise) and we didn't get the "excellent speech." Their overall service was great. Palo dinner & brunch (and server Michael). If you ever go Palo on the Wonder, ask for him! The food in Tritons on the last night! Quality of Shutters photos. Cleaniness of room and the ship in general. Captain John going back to CC on Wednesday. (We heard remarks from a crew member that the other captain wouldn't have done this.) Wonderful performance in Disney Dreams and by juggler on Monday night. Daughter losing a tooth on the first night forcing a late night trip by Tinkerbell (Tooth Fairy's assistant) to Mickey's Mates to, ahem, obtain a Disney pin to put under the pillow! In-laws thanking us 4 and 5 times for bringing them along! Meeting DISers!

Lowlights: Rain!!! Terrible table facing a wall and the kitchen entry in AP (avoid table 25!). Uncontrollably wild kid sitting next to me during Disney dreams who kicked the head of the lady in front of me and was disruptive for the entire show. Snorkeling in Nassau was not nearly as colorful as advertised. Saw lots of fish though. Disembarking!

Again, it was night meeting some of you and hope to see you again on future cruises!

I was so bummed that I did not see anyone from the group on the ship. My entire group (12 of us) went to Grills on Saturday night. I did not realize that it was so big. I looked everywhere for the green bracelets but did not see any:( I tried to make it to the sail away party but did not see anyone when I got up there. On another day, I did see an older couple wearing green bracelets but by the time I got down to the pool deck I could not find them. I also saw someone on Castaway Cay wearing a "Big Red" shirt but was not sure if it was THE Big Red:)

My nephew had a blast in the teen center. Any of you have teens that hung out there often? My nephew said he felt like the people he met there could be his best friends.

Some of my group spent a lot of time playing Bingo. Did any of you?

I did not realize how tired I would be after this vacation. I thought that the kids would love the kids club and I could relax all day - NOT! I sat down to watch Flight Plan on Monday and was paged within the first 15 minutes. My youngest wanted to go swimming with me....

Well, I am sorry that we did not get to meet face to face but it was a pleasure chatting with you all and getting great advice.

Miranda,

I'm sorry we missed you! We wore our bracelets every day... :confused3

Your children didn't miss anything by not getting the tattoos...when my children went to put them on, I had printed them on the wrong side of the paper :guilty:

We went to bingo on the last night and I played my BIL's card and won the jackpot!!! (well, he won it, but he was very generous with his earnings! )

Go with us on the Oct. 7, 2006 western! We'll try again!!!

It was nice meeting those of you that we met! Sorry we missed the rest!

Back home in very cool TN :cold: ,
Jamie

I was in that movie and I may have seen you. I heard a pager go off!

Stefanie

Who wore her bracelet some of the time. Stacy, I want to mail you the money but I need your address!

I didn't see anyone either. I was on deck for the Sail Away party, but when the horns started to blow, my son got scared so we went inside. I was looking for the green bracelets but didn't see any. Oh well, I hope everyone had as much fun as we did.
Like Miranda, I too was surprised how exhausting this vacation was. My kids didn't spend much time in the kids clubs either. Although, the small amount of time they spent there they had a good time. Even the baby had fun, he adapted really well to travel which made the trip so much easier.

I was amazed at how somoothly everything ran. Even my grumpy Dad was impressed with Disney! What a great trip!

I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to meet any of you, but it has been fun chatting!! :wave2:

Yes, I was the one disrupting the movie :guilty: I heard the pager going off but did not realize that it was mine until several minutes had passed. Oops...

I do not like thinking about the new tenants of MY room on the ship. They are heading to Nassau today. I can't believe that it is over.

What time were you at Grills?? We got there about 4:30, just in time to see the Carnival Glory leave, and stayed till 6:30-ish. We were seated on the deck but had to come in because of rain. Didn't have green bracelets yet, but did get them in the terminal at the Port. We were on deck 10 during sail-a-way, and we wore our bracelets whole trip. Send me addresses and i'll send everyones magnets anyway. Sorry we missed many of you. Join us on the Oct.7, 2006 7 day western!!

Hey BigRed...I think you were the only DIS person I ran into on the ship...thanks again for the door sign. I'd like to join you on that October 7th Western, but the kids school calander puts us on the 9/30 Eastern! :teeth:

The double Castaway Cay day was a nice treat....especially with the free tubes and snorkel equipment on the second day!
