Oct. 2nd 4 night Wonder

MJEJJ, Are you from Georgia? If so, what part? Wea re from McDonough - just south of Atlanta.

Miranda

melkimmom,

Have you heard from your brother? Looks like things are not good but, could be so much worse.

~~Stacy

ok guys, i'm starting to get kind of giddy. today, just out of the blue i feel like i need to skip around here at "work". lol.
just wish i was a little more prepared.
i'm so bummed that i won't be able to go to grills on saturday night :guilty: but our plane doesn't get in until 5:30. and the radisson was booked solid,so i won't be able to meet up there either. :sad1: thats what i get for procrastinating.

melkimmom, i'm so sorry to hear about your brother. we'll keep him in our prayers.

ck99c02, mjejj,
Are you flying or driving, and when? We will come thru Atlanta late :moped: Friday night going to Lake Park..What are the gas prices in your area? :confused3 We will need gas around Atlanta.

These gas prices are killing us!!! I do not think they are as high here as they are in other places but I spent $150 on gas in 7 days!!! We filled up last night for 2.79 a gallon. We had to buy premium because they were out of regular (2.59). I would definitely wait until you were on the southside of Atlanta to fill up if at all possible. Of course, the southside of Atlanta is where gas prices at a few stores reached almost $6.00 a gallon after Katrina. The govenor has lifted sales tax on all gas through the end of the month and is placing huge fines on stores that are trying to rip off consumers. He has also ordered all schools shut on Monday and Tuesday next week to help conserve gas. Sorry for the lengthy answer....

We will be leaving on Friday and head to south ga where the rest of our group lives.

Looking forward to meeting you all soon.

Miranda

I have not heard anything from my brother since Thursday night. All those prayers most have been heard, it came down from a category 5 to a 3. As you all know it was bad, but it could have been much worst. Now we are just waiting to hear any news. Thank you.

Today I will finally start packing. :goodvibes :rotfl:

Gas is about same here. Was 2.59 Wednesday, and went up to 2.79 yesterday. Your answer isn't lengthy, its detailed. :teeth: Thanks for the info!

O.K. I am just a little anxious here....

The movies that will be playing on our cruise:

Alot like love
Hiker's guide to the galaxy ?
Herbie Fully loaded
Owl's moving castle ?
ice princess
incredible's
Ladder 49
National Treasure
Pacifier
Pooh's movie
Sky High ?
Galliant

I had the CM on speakerphone and could not hear her so well - the one's above with a ? mark are because I am not sure that is what she said.

BTW, anybody know of a place where I can get children's white sandals? Of course my girls have outgrown theirs and there is no where selling white sandals!

Miranda

I finally got my documents yesterday!!!! Yay!! Now I feel like I am really going!!

Miranda- Yes, we are form Georgia. We live in Braselton, about 45 miles north of Atlanta(up I-85). It is "famous" for being the town that the actress Kim Basinger bought in the '80's. I wish they had cancelled school the week we are on our cruise, then the kids wouldn't have to miss four days. I know from driving around today that not too many people are staying home to conserve gas!!!

BigRed1- Gas at the gas station at my exit is $2.60. If you are traveling down 85, exit 129 is the last exit before you get into the really populated area that lasts until you travel through Atlanta. Gas is sometimes a little bit cheaper here than farther south. Of course, if you are coming form TN, you will probably go down 75 which is on the other side of town from me.

We are flying to Orlando on Saturday evening, my son has never flown before so I am sure it will be an adventure.
Just one more week and we will be on VACATION!!!! :cheer2:

Yep, were coming down 75. The middle Tennessee bunch will be leaving here just after school. :teacher: I hope to be thru Atlanta by 8 or 9... :hourglass

Do they offer the midnight chocolate buffet on the 4 night cruise? One of my six year olds is most excited about this. I had mentioned it to her when dh and I went on our last cruise (rccl) without kids. She will be very upset if they don't have it:(

Miranda

I thought I read somewhere that Palos brunch is only offered on Wednesday on the 4 day cruise. Is that still the case? Anyone know? Gosh, I hope not!

We want to try to go for brunch since I have my DD2 in Flounders on MOnday and Wednesday and I was hoping to be able to get a ressie on board since none were available online anymore.

Can't wait to go! I think I am the most excited person in my family!! ALthough my DD2 will just be in heaven with Minnie Mouse all over the place!

What night is pirate night?

Also, we have the late seating. I am trying to decide if we want to try and switch to the earlier. I have three daughters 6, 6 and 3. I am not sure if I will have the girls dine with us or in the O C. It looks like they have very cool activities in the evening that I do not want them to miss. They will probably dine with us on pirate night at the very least. I also plan on taking them to most of the shows. So much to do and so little time. What is your opinion on late vs early with young children?

Pirate night is a huge deck party. I starts after the late dinner seating, around 10pm. Your servers will greet you at dinner dressed in pirate attire and tie a bandana on your head. You get a pirate themed souvenir dinner menu. Lots of people dress up. They have a costume contest, music, :rockband: dancing, a lite buffet....hum, right after dinner..(great turkey legs)..and of coarse, pirate: Captain Hook puts in an appearance only to be "run off" by Captain Mickey and Company.

We will be leaving :moped: on Wenesday (oh my gosh, only 3 days :cool1: )! We did the land/sea thing so we will be at WDW for a few days before we catch up to you all. We are getting our stuff pulled together and I just want to make sure we know where to find everyone since it is getting harder to find the old posts. I know that some people at WDW will be watching the fireworks from the beach at the GF (we may try to catch up with you there, or we may be inside the park, I think we are just going to play it by ear :earsgirl: ). Otherwise, the plan is to look for the girl with all of the green bracelets in the terminal or meet on Deck 10 around the outlook :grouphug: (will we know what this is?) for the sailaway party. Right?

Does anyone know what the cost is to rent snorkel equipment at Castaway Cay? We are debating whether or not it is worth it to bring our own. We also read a post about a manta ray exhibit on Castaway Cay that was supposed to open last week. Has anyone heard about it? Is there a charge for it? Any info would be appreciated.

Anyway, we have been having a blast conversing :chat: on this board and reading all of the posts. We can't wait to get together exactly one week from today!

Woo-Hoo!!!

 :cheer2: :jumping1: :cheer2:

It's been a long time since I have been called a 'girl'. Mostly it's "hey lady" or "excuse me ma'am" :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

The bracelts are in and yes, I will be watching the fireworks from the beach at GF on Saturday night. I am going staight to the Mickey pool when we get on board and then on to Deck 10 for the sail away party.

Disnic~~ We are also leaving on Wednesday and will be at Hoop Dee Do at 7:00 that night as a warm up for the trip. On Friday night we are going to MNSSHP, how about you?

Can my boys (4 & 7) wear nice shorts, a button down shirt and sandals (not flip-flops)to dinner? I know that the rest of us can't and am planning accordingly.

I have tried to search the DISBoards for the answer and I can't find any information. I guess I am not putting in the right keywords.

Thanks

:sunny:

Is everyone ready? I hope so. Yesterday we went shopping :teeth: for everything we could find for the summer for our cruise. The deals were great :Pinkbounc It was wonderful and the girls had a blast :love1:

Don't forget everyone is invited to our pre-cruise and sail-away parties. It has been great to  and get to know you before our great adventure pirate: together. Time went by so fast and that was thanks to :disrocks: Thank you for all the good information and the great tips. :grouphug:

I think they prefer long pants for the menfolk, but you will see everything at dinner...

We always take a khaki pair of pants and a navy pair for our son and we swap him up each night with different shirts. He only has the pants on during dinner and maybe a show, so we hang them back up and he wears them again. We bring the darker pair in case he stains the khaki! So if you see him in navy for 3 nights, you know what happened on night #1. :rotfl:

We are packing everything we can today! DD has packed already :cheer2: , DS and I are going now to get his clothes ready! :cool1:

Very windy here in TN today!
